Just got my 201's with obsidian 95s. My callaway rogues have a project x 6.0 that's 120g. Wasn't sure if i should have gone with 115g. About to play my first round, wish me luck. Have to come back with how they feel.
I got the x stiff obs with the oversized lams it’s a heavy girl I can only Imagine same as the tour or close there stiff though took me a Minute I swing pretty fast I’m 31 6-2 205 lbs I almost gave up On em but I slowed down and like he said attacked the ball on way down the forgiveness and spin of theses are excellent really is no spin whatever I target subconsciously it goes there like a dart and stays
Ordered my 101s and wasn't sure which shaft to choose. I got the Tour Lite S and love them. You do feel the weight of the club head more, which I like. Great irons and wedges! I've used them for two months and have NO regrets in my purchase. Thank you Tim.
@@MrColbrot Mine arrived in about 5 or 6 weeks. Seemed like forever. Leave your porch light on and keep looking out the windows! They'll get to you and are well worth the wait!🙂
I love videos like this, ty! Still saving up for my 101 t's, I'm 41 and don't get out often so they will be my first brand new set ever and the last one I buy :) Keep it up and ty
@@WayneOReilly I def appreciate the feedback and in most cases 100% agree. I used to be solid & w/ my lack of rounds I still hoover 75-84 so far this year so I want some workability still. I like to be creative. Ty honestly tho for looking out for us in the comments!
Could you please configure a set for senior golfers {70 plus age group}? Curious to see what Takomo would recommend. Maybe with graphite shafts and arthritic grips? Thanks and great videos!
Would really be nice if someone would return my email or my chat on the website. I need to change my shaft stiffness customer support not looking too good...
Great video Tim! Seems like the slight spin difference between them was the factor on the distance. For those in USA, head to any PGA Superstore and you can try both these shafts for free in their bays.
I did a fitting with kbs cuz i had disc replacement in my neck and changed my swing a little and went from kbs tour 120 S to kbs tour lite 115 XS and play 301 combo set. In my fitting only difference besides feel of the slight weight change was what i was looking for which was slightly higher ball flight due to the flex point and point of impact. I hope people dont see this video and buy tour lite shafts hoping for same results because you wont get them. So many swing factors go into what a shaft will do for you. The shaft is easily 80% of the performance of the club.
I bought the 101t with tour lite. Big mistake. Dont like them at all. I now realise i need a much heavier shaft. clubs will have to go infortunately and will put the ap2s back in the bag.
@@brierharmon5318 its just hard to feel the head when swinging. Im pretty strong and have a moderate if not faster swing. I feel its hard to get the club squarely back to the ball. I have a set of ap2 716 with AMT shafts. The PW is about 130grams as apposed to the takomo which is around 100, The titleist feel so much better. For me anyway. I now understand how imprtant club fitting is.
I believe the KBS chart shows the lite to be higher launch higher spin. Seeing how it affects your swing is a good reminder to get fit because while the lite was higher launch it definitely was lower spin here.
Great start Tim. Yeah not much difference between the shafts. I guess though as you said," its what you feel better playing, the lighter or the heavier. I would prefer the lighter shafts. Interesting try out though.
I’ve been begging for anyone to answer this on the custom 101’s there is an options for KBS MAX Stiff but I can’t find any info on it. Can someone please please provide me with a comparison for it and the KBS tour Lite X-Stiff
Hi can I ask why you wished you’d gotten the lites? Ive recently had a Taylormade fitting and he recommended the KBS Tour 110, my issue is I’m 65 years old, I’d like this to be my last iron purchase so would think the lites would be my best option long term. Thanks.
Are you talking swing weight or total weight when you're talking about it being heavier? I can't believe you got through a whole video without specifying.
Tim You would expect that a lighter shaft would give you a bit more club head speed and therefore ball speed and carry distance. Interesting that you saw more ball speed from increased efficiency rather than club head speed. Overall though this suggests that the slightly lighter weight is better for your swing and strike.
I've seen other comparisons on shaft weight and those found that swing speeds were pretty much the same between heavier and lighter. Dispersion changed but club speed didn't seems you see the same. Would be interesting to see if you find a difference on the golf course. Perhaps one will be more manageable for you.
Excited for this one. Been holding off on buying irons until I finally pony up the money for a fitting. My swing is slower than yours, but it's a great comparison for base knowledge.
Love these “test”, but it seems everyone that does them will get rid of the worst shots. We want to manage our misses so why not keep the 5 worse shots and then compare. Just a thought, maybe nobody wants to see that. Great video
Good point! Will definitely do some test where I leave in everything. One reason to get rid of the misses on some of the miss hits is because a really bad miss hit may have nothing to do with the equipment and just be a poor swing. A shank is a shank no matter the shaft 😂 - Tim
@@AirsoftDelta18the “lite” is 110 grams in stiff. The “tour” is 120 grams in stiff. The “tour” in X flex is 130 grams. KBS also offers the “tour” in S+ and is 125 grams.
