6:17, a tool I have been absolutely blind to. OMG, I am crying with joy (not really, but if I were more emotional, I would). And yes, I would enjoy more short, concise videos -- one of my favourite channels is Blender Secrets and that's what he does, and I learn so much. I've subscribed -- thanks!

Nice tips! My favorite (and super simple) use for the 3d cursor in archviz is selecting the two bottom vertices of an opening, cursor to selected, and then placing my doors/windows. It's such a quick way to get the middle point of things.

Exactly! being able to precicely place items exactly where you need them is incredible

Isn't it a lot easier to use snap 3D cursor to Edge center? I use that all the time.
@fvchs
@fvchs Год назад
@@AnirbanBasakClicks Depends, openings include doors, and those don't have edges at the bottom for me :)

You didn't mention my favorite feature. Objects in Blender are created at the location of the 3D cursor and not at zero coordinates as in other programs.

Awesome tut! Even if you chopped it in 3rds for each major section it would still be as valuable.

Very helpful video, Thank you! Does the spin tool work with the array modifier? for example to make spiral staircase.

8:25 Don’t forget that, as in older versions of Blender, you can also define custom “transform orientations” for later reuse. That way you can select them from the menu, instead of having to realign the cursor each time.

5:44 You haven’t mentioned what “Keep Offset” means: it means if you have multiple items selected, they keep their relative positions instead of being individually snapped to the cursor.
@imeshh
@imeshh Год назад
That's true, I'd love to have included all this extra info but then I'd end up with a much longer video in the end haha. I've never had the need to use the other selection to cursor so I use this one by default. Maybe I'll do another cursor video in the future to go into more detail. I hope this has enough information for most people for now 🤷
