!!! I mistakenly said 107hz but should have been about 51hz. I was looking at the dB line instead of the frequency line. Thanks to ‪@CraigFlowersMusic‬ for pointing that out. !!!
In this video, I continue my comparison of the Arendal 1723 S THX tower speakers but this time against some Klipsch RF 7 II and Lascala.
*REW MEASUREMENT NOTE*
I mentioned in the video that the measurements in REW are of the song and not frequency sweeps which has caused some confusion, sorry about that!

It was good to see that this time there was a difference and whether that difference is better or not will depend on your listening preferences. It was also great to hear the Lascalas in person as I've seen so much about them.

Please Correct Me If I'm Wrong??? For What I'm Hearing And Seeing In This Video, The Klipsch Period Are A Better Sounding Speakers ( Or More Powerful!!!) VS The Arendal 1723 Speakers TXH ???? I Have Klipsch, And I've Always Wonder If Focal Speakers, Arendal Or Kefs Speakers, Are More Powerful And Sounding Better??? I've Always Question If I Would Gain Or Loose Something, If I Would Switch From Klipsch Speakers Period!!!! People Say They Sound "BRIGHT " ???? What Does That Mean??? I Sure Don't Want Anything Sounding Less Powerful Or Less Bass Ect.Ect Please Respond @ Your Convenience, THANK YOU 😊

@@michaelburton5198 Klipsch are more sensitive but it's more of a preference of sound that is the bigger difference. The brightness that is mentioned is in regards to the highs being more elevated than the rest of the frequencies whereas other speakers may be more neutral or even in their sound signature. I also do want to point out that these are the Arendal 1723 S THX which are a little smaller and less sensitive than their bigger brother the Arendal 1723. Again, I think it comes down to what you are accustomed to listening to or what you prefer. The best way to figure out if something will be better is unfortunately to test them out in your space which will take some time and money to do.

I wish you could get a chance to compare arendle 1973 THX VS JBL HDI 360 & IF if it's possible to play at least different songs.. will be appreciated 👍

@@Porchewaitombi Thanks for checking out the video. I did have a chance to compare with some JBLs (not the 360 though) and will have a video on that later. Unfortunately, as for the songs, I'm limited due to copyrights on RU-vid but hoping that by doing the same song, it will help to see how all the different speakers are comparing. I do hear different songs off-camera to get a feel for them though.

@@RandomDistractionsYT no problem. If it is good, its good. We'll see if I pull the trigger on Arendal or Klipsch, or if I just conclude to let it be. Would be cool with some truly big speakers, but for that room, maybe it is just overkill. I got the B&W cm7 now. Yes they aren't punchy or flamboyant by any stretch, but they get the job done most of the time, and it costs me 0$ to keep them. Klipsch is 6000&, Arendal 4000$.. yes, yolo and all that, but I am still debating if it is worth having fun, with myself, putting my family needs aside, for 4000 or 6000 dollars. Thank you for the insightful video though. But as we audiophiles say: Life aint over till the fat lady sings, or you can't hear her, because you are deaf from ear fatigue.

Has anyone pointed out that you read that graph wrong? You mean 51Hz, not 107. You're looking at the 107dB line there. On the Y axis instead of X.
@RandomDistractionsYT
@RandomDistractionsYT 9 месяцев назад
Oh my gosh you are right! You are actually the first one to mention that. It actually did seem weird as I was saying it because it didn’t feel like it was that high. Appreciate that you were paying attention!

You're right. But frankly speaking, I don't choose my speakers with my eyes, but with my ears. There's so much difference between those two speakers, graphs seems useless. Change your amp, change your room, change the place of yours speakers, and your speakers will sound differently.

This was a good comparison. I personally preferred the Klipsch sound even if its not accurate yet ear fatigue is concerning, its a fine balance between accuracy and liveliness I have found in general terms JBL to have mastered that fine line.
@RandomDistractionsYT

Appreciate you checking it out and nothing wrong with that, something that I have come across with doing this is that people have different listening preferences so I am glad that there are lots of good options out there. Funny you mention JBL, won't ruin the surprise, but there will be a comparison with a JBL. Stay tuned!

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure many will appreciate those graphs. However, the sole judge is a blind test for me, even if "something" appears on a graph between "xKHz and xKHz". But it's just me.

Definitely agree, listening in person for sure is the best way to experience that and any speakers really especially in your own listening space as that will affect it as well.

Thanks for the comparison. I do wish you had spent a little more time talking about the Lascalas and gone into more depth on what you describe as "a different beast". The RF 7's sensitivity is exaggerated but the Laqscalas, they are the real deal. If you had volume-matched, how else would you describe the differences between the Arendal and the Lascalas?
@RandomDistractionsYT
@RandomDistractionsYT 9 месяцев назад
Thanks for the feedback and in regards to your question I would say that their sensitivity gives them the ability to reach extreme levels but that they remain composed and neutral sounding. Unlike the RF 7s they were much more balanced. Unfortunately I was only able to listen to them for a few minutes but based on the measurements, I applied a 1/1 smoothing and compared to the Arendals the Klipsch were actually more linear. The difference was around the midrange. The Arendals were a little lower. Here is a link to a sreenshot of that if you want to see. The Arendals are the red line. drive.google.com/file/d/1-TbFKk4mrAzmx2WrVEPgnPTOORu8shX-/view?usp=sharing. And here it is with the RF 7s which do seem to vary a little more. drive.google.com/file/d/1Dx684ac_KSQlMYgWvje4LK8ADQ2jocBZ/view?usp=sharing

Should have used the Arendal 1723s ("8") in this comparison.

EQ boost on the top end is not the same thing as ANY speaker that naturally produces that range... of course you're going to get ear fatigue.
