Anyone who dares to call themselves a singer must have heard of this lady of song; the late great Aretha Franklin. She can sing jazz, soul, and blues, but when she sings gospel, you can feel the presence of God in her voice. ❤
I remember a time when Aretha would sing this song and people would be fallin out in the floor. These people are looking at her like they are waiting for wet paint to dry.
This song ended Amazing Grace and had Clara Ward ready to jump up and punch her🤣😂🤣😂🤣You’re right about that💯That show started and ended in a very ignorant fashion🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣GOD is great m
@shangojamal... I heard this song about 15 years ago through my mother-in-law who has passed on to Glory at the start of covid, 2019! she would listen to it over and over again along with another song precious memories with Aretha and James Cleveland... it was not until some years after listening to it and me getting more into my faith that I actually get it. now I search for Aretha Franklin CDs of just her gospel songs... she was a bad girl; I wish I could have heard her in person. they are watching paint dry TO THEM... BUT THOSE OLD SAINTS ARE STANDING UP IN THE AUDIENCE 😂😂😂😂
No-one on earth, could sing this like Queen Aretha Franklin. She made it to that land. Will never forget you Queen. With your Father C.L. Franklin and mother Barbara . your spirit never die. You rest in peace Darling.
Queen Wearing That Hat, Baby!!!! Go Head, Queen!!I Love And Miss You So Much....Words Cant Explain...When I Saw You Last Wednesday at the Charles H. Wright Musuem, I Couldnt Hold Back My Tears... I Just Broke Down...
@Milton754 ~ I don't think she sounded bad at all. Plus in Michigan we don't wear black at "saints" funerals....it's not suppose to be a sad occassion.
Sister Gwendola Crawford-Price, of Houston TX, was the one person who sung this song and made you feel like you would never Grow Old. I asked her to sing this at my homegoing. God called her first; even though she told me she would never be able to sing this at my homegoing. I'm her daughter!! RIP, Mama! I miss you so much.
Shirley March. You so right Shirley.Neverrrr. peoples like her are only anointed in womb by God. Sing Aretha . You R.I.P. Darling, you in that land, make your journey. Your Spirit never die,we will never forget you.
oh how I pray that churches bring back these songs of zion. Sadly many of todays singers are anointed enough to sing these songs. Sing Gospel for me any day Aretha...Never Grow Old

vangoghmatisse1. What I love most vangoghmatisse about Aretha , she touched every race and nationality . Not enough words to describe such a beautiful woman sent by God to put something in our heart and memory.
this goes to show.. if u STARTED in the church?.. your TRUE hone gon remain IN the church... she sho was sangin...I kinda wish she didnt sing on dat falsetto tho.. I LOVE her ful voice.. but go hed tho...and u kno dems 2 straight up MOTHERS who stood up at 4:38 lol.. go hid
She's always sang that song in a lower register Bb which gave her room to go up in range...Why did they put her in a whole step higher...She pulled it off but that was work
I was wondering that too. On Amazing Grace album she was lower. Maybe she wanted to sing it in that key. She did her thing tho. RIH Ms. Franklin. Is she singing in C on this one? I'm a beginner and trying to pick up things by ear.
@@Ma1nguy true, but the organist that's playing looks familiar and I think he played for her for awhile. Idk. You could be right. But I'm sure she told him what key to play. Knowing Aretha if he never played for her she would've told him lol .
Aretha at 74 still reaches any notes she wants, look at her latest performance of "nessun dorma" every song doesn't require a soprano voice or high notes, and high notes don't make you a better singer or sound better,a good singer knows how to scale back and not over sing songs and Aretha has mastered that
Victor Wright I agree 100%, ppl r so quick to compare Aretha to Patti but Aretha is the one who demonstrates consistent musicality and knows when to restrain in performances, unlike Patti who can sometimes rely too much on high notes and oversings at times which gets annoying cuz she has so much potential if she pulled it back
M.C.'s Lamb why do people compare such talented artists who have been blessed with God given talents? There is no need to compare them, let's just enjoy the gifts these people have.
Victor Wright. Yes and Patti holler too much like you say just run damn out. She'll shouldn-t even be put in same conversation with Aretha ,Thanks again Victor. R.I.P. Queen
Aretha Franklin was a TRUE vocalist, who Blessed this world with raw/soulful secular and gospel hits! She also carried the anointing to those who understand that! The best to ever do it! THEE Queen of Soul!!!!
We need to remember to keep Aretha in our prayers as she goes through the battle of her life. As Aaron and Hur did Moses in the heat of battle when his arms began to hang down one stood on each side and held them up so that the army got victory.
bullycatmom .bullycatmom, how wonderful of you to bring the spiritual perspective to this. Yes, this is what we need to do. Keep on teaching bullycatmom. Keep us on track
Whew no matter how that voice is younger older tired sick whatever Aretha knew how to sing through it and that anointing would still touch you somehow....somehow it got thru!!! Gonna miss you Ree-Ree! Thank you Lord for sending us Aretha!
This is just Heavenly!! My God, there was sooooo much conviction in Ms. Franklin's delivery of this moving song....Haven't heard this 1 before.I'm from Georgia, and my Mom is from a country town nearby; I'll have to see if she knows this 1.
If your uncle is living he should be proud that such a talented and spiritual performer such as Ms Franlyn is performing to his music. If he is deseased what a tribute this is to him. You have to understand true gospel my dear!
I would sing this song at someone in Memphis TN, at Saint Andrew AME church, it brings back memories from back in the days! RIP Aretha 🙏 🪦 Love this song!❤❤
My heart is STILL Broken at the passing of the Queen of Soul and the Queen of Gospel if the Truth is Told - Ms. Aretha Franklin! To me Aretha Franklin is truly the Greatest Singer of ALL Times, across All genres! The Very first Record and Album that I ever purchased in my life at age 12 was by Aretha Franklin! She has been Copied, emulated, been imitated by and Has influenced More Artist than Any other singer in the world! The Music world will Never be the Same without her voice! We loved her greatly, but God Loved her Best, but Thank God her Music will live on forever. She Fought a Good Fight, She Changed the world, She let God use the Gifts He Gave her and she Finished her Course! Now she is in Heaven, LEADING the Heavenly Choir! Sleep on Ms. Franklin and Take your Well Deserved Rest Queen, we will See you in the Morning! Your Citizenship is in Heaven! R.I.H.
