the irish are the best to discuss football , I still miss the old guard, but Brady keeps it with Hammann I would love to watch Stapleton and Tony Galvin there
You sit there laughing about Messi turning Gvardiol inside out but for once he actually was very Maradona-esque and not one commentator jumping on that?? Maradona's greatest asset was deception. That was his hallmark. He fooled defenders all day long like no other. And perfected it like an artist. It's why he was specifically the greatest. And here on the big stage, we have a situation where it so replicates Maradona's special ability he had and not one analyst can draw the comparison??? But just laugh like it's Gvardiols fault. Why do they pay you to sit there and talk about football when you know so little? That's my question
@@xavierfranzoia6633 Orsato is FIFA mafia ref. for the special tasks when it comes to ripping off small teams in order zo secure much more money to the criminals from FIFA!
the irish are the best to discuss football, the girl great, and given duff they are on par with the great ex #10 of Juventus and Inter the greatest irish footballer of all time, Liam Brady
what better than George Best ,better than Johnny Giles of Leeds okay i respect chippy Brady as a arsenal fan ,king of the north bank but get a grip its not clear cut and dry
For me Brady is on par with Best he isn't less a player than Georgie, Best was a natural talent both feet, acceleration etc. Brady was #10 for 7 years in the best league of the world at the time. Alongside Platini Zico El Diego etc
Argentina 5 penalties this world cup? C'mon men. Penalty against Croatia was a shame. I am 100% sure that was the moment that mentally crushed Croatian players.
In VAR room are the same referee who called Pittana before he gave a penalty against Croatia in world cup final four years ago, this time he was mute! Italian hate Croatian and Slavs for centurys for political reasons and how happen to one Italian referee was in VAR room in two most important matches in Croatian football history?
@@sanijadresko2675 Infantino and Colina wanted Argentina and France in final. Marocco should have penalty instead yellow card to Maroccan player. Football is money, small nations will never be able to win the WC. Yes, I, remember the final on WC 2018, referee was pushing France in opening stage....
Croatia was outplaying Argentina, until that one lobbed pass scared them and Argentina started to be more frontal on the attack. Eventually Croatia couldn't really threat Argentina's form
Croatians didn't tire. Croatia played like Bra in many ways. So what did you think was going wrong? This is how much people don't understand about football. It's plain easy to see. If you followed them from the start. THEY PLAYED LIKE THEY'VE PLAYED ALL-TOURNAMENT...THAT IS WITHOUT ANY PURPOSE GOING FORWARD. IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT. Now did Dalic get it wrong against Arg? He only had one get-out-of-jail card, and it wasn't to do what worked for him all along definitely but he listened to the media and the media told him his team was dangerous and Argentina are scared. What a bluff. After the game against Bra he should have roasted his forwards including the goalscorer who scored against Bra{what a shit goal) and Perisic who so far was a 4/10 the whole tournament. I'm giving 4 not 3 for scoring the header against Jap. Other than that f-all. There is not one deserved forward that should have played against Arg, that's played. Next, you get to Modric-your not taking free kicks or corners. No way. Give it to anyone but him. Hopeless in that respect all tournament. And where is his defense splitting passes? Well, where is Rebic? Again sole blame is on the coach. To harsh punishment for leaving him out. That's ridiculous. So he should have addressed his team, different tactics 5-4-1, and let all his old lady forwards know they were not taking part anymore. And lone ranger up front is a new person off the bench who has his chance. Second, the backs have to take a risk and go forward and join in the midfield attack. That's it. No two ways about it.
I 100% agree ..we have Lovro Majer on bench who has a bullet cross and is a set piece specialist and yet Modric who is horrible at free kicks and corners takes every kick...
Mor different from Cro. They can hold their own up front. Fra ain't getting away with this one. You can bet your bottom dollar. The only team that has grown in the competition. I can't help but read about this Moroccon team lineup. Just the way they've gone about their business is genuinely everything that is wonderful about football. I can use so many different reasons why this unit is so exciting from a neutral perspective. I'll leave it at there is not one game that you guys didn't deserve your points. And your fans along with that Viking thunderclap are the icing on the cake. I expect the brilliance on the pitch to continue and I know there is a big reason why we can expect Mor in the final.
@@Leo82870 It was not penalty tho. But lets pretend Argentina is not pushed by referee. Lets pretend Messi is awesome. Hard not to be, with referee pushing you every step.
@@krunoslav2658 if you take into consideration every pk given in any World Cup you find the same debate. English fans are begging for a third as we speak. Too often people assume that there is always bias depending on the nation they favor.
Am I the only one who grew up loving football and I'm just detached from it now, even the so-called big games just don't do it for me. Best World Cup I saw was the 2006 one in Germany.
@@ludurigan Take your meds grandpa. Also I'm sorry just because you're nostalgic for the old times doesn't change the fact Messi is the best player to ever play the game. Garrincha was phenomenal but Messi is well clear of him.
@@ludurigan No I'm not 200 years old. Doesn't matter. I don't care how good you think he was. The sport is better now and the defenders he was against were equivalent to high schoolers now. Messi is clear and it's not even remotely close.
@@guitarreilly i would acknowledge this but really this isnt true....Mexico toarched us in 2014 and Ecuador in 2002... But this scoreline didnt reflect the game...
First two goals were soft to give away from Croatia. Disapointing for a world cup semi and especially in the first half . You question the overall standard of football. Messi as great as he is is 35, Modric is 37 lol
Messi took on three players all the time and would do an assist or two easy. Mbappe is all speed and in his latter years will show to have a lesser trophy case. To tell you the truth is Mbappe the top player right now?
French player wpuld not allow Messi all that time to drop shoulders. A suttle clip here and there is the difference. Croats made Messi and Argentina look better than they are. Although I picked them to win it after copa
Alvarez had 2 cheapest goals second goal two clearances bounced back to him first goal was not a penalty but no one is talking about that why didn't the ref go watch it over he was a mile back didn't even see what happened and yet didn't review it and it's world cup and no one it critiquing the call
@@rick-sd2hzit’s not but either way, Croatia were going too lose, they got lucky vs Japan and Brazil but they ran into the wrong beast. No world class strikers and overly rely on their midfield and goalkeeper
I can't believe that there are some but...thurt souls out there still mantaining (with a straight face) that it was not a penalty... Lol... The keeper didn't even touch the ball and completely clobbered Álvarez - as clear a penalty as you'll ever see... Confirmation bias is a powerful thing.
I find it so strange, that these butthurt pendu fans keep commenting "it's not a penalty". What's not a penalty is the one that your Pendu dove for and scored. The only one he scored in this tournament. Go sleep.
just imagine how many world cups pele would have ,had he not been kicked out of the World Cup their talking complete crap ,none of them can touch Pele El REY Pele the king none of them hoping now france get through to the Final and smash argentina to bits Pele the king as MC Hammer. says you carnt Touch this Funk master Rick James

@johnny sins just as muhammed ali says Messi plays in the era where he has the complexion for the protection, the ethnicity for the publicity thats it period
It amazes me how people here will claim they have been watching football for a very long time and yet they think that was not a foul and penalty... You wonder if they really have been watching any football at all...Alvarez played the ball & if the keeper hadn't stopped him he could have been able to finish that off... How many times have we seen that happen in football and a foul being given??? But coz it's Messi & Argentina you wanted the ref to change the rules so Messi shouldn't play a penalty??? You people are such cry babies, who don't even understand what you are crying about
Dude. I am tired of explaining. The first thing that you got wrong is that Livakovic was stopping Alvarez. It was Alvarez that ran into him. If you rewatch it you can see that Livakovic didn't take a single step into the path of alvarez after he played the ball. That means Alvarez initiated the contact and it is therefore not a foul. The ref calling it a foul initally is fine since it's hard to say in real time. That's what VAR is for. But for whatever reason he didn't even check the VAR!! So stop saying people have no clue about football. The only thing you are doing is labeling yourself with "I have no idea about football" and childish when you can't even understand what we are complaining about.
@@Skyl3t0n He CLEARLY stepped his right leg into Alvarez's path and had no contact with the ball. He swung his right leg and tackled Alvarez. What were you watching?
@@Shoonam That's maybe the only bit that's slightly debatable because when the shot was taken, his foot was still in the air as he tried to maximise surface area. But no. He stepped down right where he sttood. At MOST bracing for impact cause a lunatic is running fullspeed into him
You dont touch opponent player in penalty box especially in earlier phase of the game. Soft penalty will always be there. In every top European League, UCL, this kind of penalty is mandatory.
Ref stole the game. Seems Pepe was right and they should give Argentina the trophy . Why waisting our time. Prior to mickey mouse pen was the corner for Croatia. But when you have agenda
LOL. Pepe has never been right about anything. Pepe has always been a Messi hater just as you are. Pepe is a dirty player. The foul by the GK would be a penalty all day everyday in the top leagues. For you to speak otherwise just reveals your bias that is blinding you to the truth. The ref did not cause the defense of Croatia to give up these goals. That is why you did not see the Croatians protesting any of the goals.
@@icemanred i love Messi. To cut out the story of penalty was or was not, it came out of action where corner was not given to Croatia. Therefore if it was corner given, it would not be a penalty. Penalty was just coalition of the player who prior to that kick the ball and than hit a goalkeeper who was in his 16m and alway have advantage..argentinian was running into him kicking the ball before
@@sasaseparovic9777 If you are going to look at every play as being that consequential, then you can say that any play where the ref does not get a ball out call correct led to the other team scoring. That is an utterly ridiculous way to look at a game. Unless the refs call a perfect game, you can always argue that a missed call led to a team scoring a goal. The truth is that the Croatian team was tired and it showed. Their previous two games went to PKs, which means that prior to the Argentina game, they played in excess of 240 minutes. The play that led to the penalty showed their center backs not in sync and totally in no position to contest the ball over the top that split them. Steve Wonder could have played a ball into that space. Croatia was supposed to dominate the midfield play and wear Argentina down but the could not do this because the were tired. Croatia had nothing in the tank and could not produce anything in the attacking 3rd of the pitch.
