It is just a fascinating language being someone who only knows english. I've taken a bit of a liking to sing in english what the song does in german. Quite difficult to nail the tempo, and meter due to obv. language differences.
@Izaak Bookwalter I was more or less giving the idea of translating these german songs into english, and try and match the translation 1 to 1. Not necessarily that it is hard to sing it in german.
Last week i went to Verdun. Argonne being at a 30 minutes drive was also one of the best decisions i took. How dug in the Germans were with their world class engineering. The American Meuse Argonne cementary showing it, being the biggest American military cementary on mainland Europe. Just impressed but also saddened by all the losses. Rest in peace to all the soldiers.
I think I have a cousin who was buried there , he was with the 306th and only 27 men survived out of 300 to 400 men and the military division of the 306th don't like that part of history so they hide it. My cousin's best friend on the other hand survived and sent us some letters saying that "Freddie was killed" and several other things and he visited my family after the war and told the whole story. (My family still has the letters and some of the documents)
Even if it's a WW2 song, so what? Yeah, the Wehrmacht made war crimes, but so did the Red Army and about any other military in the world's history. Germans have as much right to honour their fallen heroes from this war and sing the songs they sang as everybody else.
@@saavageturtle4121 I understand Russian and what Max said has no sense,he just typed random words without any meanings which makes me mad. Think again before commenting that.
Argon forest, at midnight A pioneer stands on the watch A star stand high in the sky bringing greetings from his faraway homeland A star stand high in the sky bringing greetings from his faraway homeland And with a shovel in his hand a sapper stands on the front with longing he thinks about his love and when he will see her again with longing he thinks about his love and if he will see her again Argon forest , Argon forest soon you shall become a silent graveyard in your cool soil rests the blood of so many brave soldiers in your cool soil rests the blood of so many brave soldiers
Argonnerwald, at midnight a pioneer stands on guard. A star stood high in the sky, bringing him great things from a faraway homeland. And with a spade in his hand, he stood in front in the forest. With longing he thinks of his love. I wonder if he will see it again. Argonnerwald, Argonnerwald, A silent graveyard you will soon become. In your deep earth rests many a brave soldier's blood.
Okay, of course there weren't as many black German soldiers as are represented in the game. But there were plenty of Africans in the Imperial German Army (Schutztruppe etc.), and the class they represent - scouts - is perfect for the kind of service they were trained in. Stop making WWI about race.
***** You are wrong. There were THREE black German servicemen in total in all of Europe during WW1 and ONE soldier MAYBE saw combat. The only black units were in the German colonies in Africa, which is never the subject of any map in BF1. Also, the only class that can use the standard service rifle should NOT represent a minority (this goes for the British team as well). I am not making a race-debacle here, I'm citing basic historical errors that were intentionally put in by DICE.
@@rhysnichols8608 Just looking at the amount of aces they had in each branch of the army was astounding since they kept the all-lies in check with the ratio of 10 on 1!

Viel besser als dieses heutige Affengejaule in Hörfunk und Fernsehen ohne Buschtrommel geht ja heute garnichts mehr. Dass wahr noch Musik! Einfach großartig!
This from the same album as the Erika song you uploaded? You should upload the album credits so we can purchase. Unless it's from Vinyl then I understand.
Dr. Ludwig's entire channel was taken down the first of August. RU-vid is going crazy with the censorship. They said he was taken down for hate speech.
this was written in 1910: Short English Translation: In the mighnight of forest of Argonne A Sapper stands on guard A little star high above in the sky Bring him the greetings from far home(x2)
harneyempire Argonne, written in 1910 ??? Make us a favor, check a map and tell where Argonne was in 1910, and why the hell Germans had to mak a song about this area ...
letarsier59 Yeah. It was actually made around late '14 or early '15, right at the start of the war. The Germans had had plenty of experience dealing with France, though. Franco-Prussian war. The Napoleonic wars. Anything the HRE did with France or Burgandy. Fighting in the Argonne was nothing new to them, so there are actually folk things from the pre-war period about fighting in the Argonne.
you are aware that this is a ww1 song right? during said war the kraut gang and the hungry Austrians decided to play a little game called yeet the serbs, where they ended up killing a very high percentage of the Serbian population
@@55_reasons_why74 Well unlike the austro-hungarians the Germans we're very well disciplined and honourable soldiers!Did you know that after the fall of Belgrade in 1915 german general Mackensen decided to erect a memorial honouring Serbian soldiers that died defending the city?!
@@thatguy-qg9lk do you think I give a shit? I wouldn't waste 10 seconds giving a shit about the details of any of those events. I couldn't care less about the tens of millions that perished in either war or any other war.
@Levi Bachus Wrong, they remove everything they just want to sensor history, infact, your on a watchlist for listening to this. Sad to say In reality, but true. I guess they just haven't got to it yet or can't come up with a good reason, although 3rd Reich music barley can stay up for a week.
This song has little to do with National Socialism, though it was used by them unfortunately. It was created for the German Empire, and even used by the Spartacus League.
This is easy to pronounce without really needing any translation to english pronunciation. But russian on the other hand, guy in back: what about the japanese one? Me: not gonna talk about that one.
das war bzw. ist musik! hoffe wir werden solche prachtstückchen irgendwann wieder hören dürfen! zumal jeder pionier heutzutage darf es auf dem kasernengelände summen aber nicht singen!
