Ari Emanuel is one of the most powerful people in the media industry. The 62-year-old founder and CEO of Endeavour worked his way up from the mailroom at the talent agency CAA in the late 1980s and is now quickly becoming the ultimate dealmaker in the entertainment industry. His latest transaction to merge the UFC with the WWE for a combined $21.4 billion in enterprise value is surely helping cement that title.
Ari’s Endeavour owns assets such as the entertainment agency WME, sports, fashion and events company IMG and the UFC. Through its network, Endeavour represents world class talents including Martin Scorsese, Bella Hadid, Lebron James and Dua Lipa.
I used to cover the Sports & Entertainment sector as an M&A banker on Wall Street so let’s break down what UFC-WWE merger means for Ari Emanuel and the space going forward.
- ABOUT PROBABLY SOMETHING -
Hey, I'm Kunal. I'm a Swedish founder in NYC and ex-investment banker (Lazard M&A). You can think of this as my personal business blog, but in video format.
I create videos about finance, business strategy, M&A and mental models to help me better understand our complex business world. Through my work, I've mostly covered tech, media, healthcare, sports and holdcos so those are naturally the topics I gravitate towards.
My goal is to constantly challenge myself to become a better business operator, investor and thinker by studying world class founders, financiers and investors. I hope this channel will help you do the same.
Just sharing what I'm learning along the way and documenting my journey - nothing on here should be considered financial advice.
