I have heard some people claim the ufc fixes fights. I was like are you crazy? the ufc has no need to fix fights they have enough fighters to let it go naturally.
I thought it was funny when Dana said, " Let me tell you something about Bob Arum." I love when he goes on these rants. So many morons blast and criticize Dana White. Deep down, those morons know that they would all love to have his job. Dana White is not right about everything he says, but I'd say most of the things he says are right on the money.
@steady2wheels its got to do with monopolizing a business, where you try and wipe out your competition, so that you can do pretty much do what you want. happened with microsoft when they were practically the only operating system in every PC/laptop, etc. and then they had to split the company and stuff.. hope that was helpful :)
what really pisses me on is that you can't even watch full fights of UFC aaaaages after the live events here on youtube.... are they still getting deleted or what? because there are STILL people outthere who cant watch these live due to missing tv channels and stuff...
UFC is a monopoly of MMA. They even have a UFC belt. Boxing has 100's of promoters across the world and the sanctioning body isn't owned by the company(i.e UFC). Boxing has 4 world sanctioning bodies, 4 belts and any promoters fighters can fight for it as long as they climb the sanctioning bodies rankings.
@safatheman The difference is that rule isn't very known and hes known for being very young into the sport as well. He did do something illegal but he was contesting that those illegal elbows didn't impact the outcome of the fight as the toss was the reason why hamil was unable to continue. Oh well it doesn't really matter, the consensus see him still as undefeated :D.
@spaniardmale77 its not like every fighter can be top-tier fighter, not every fighter can have GSP's popularity. I was aware of everything you informed me of there and agree those are beneficial to the fighters, but im specifically talking about the amount of money fighters get to walk in and fight excluding endorsements and bonuses. For example, if Hominick and Aldo didn't get FOTN at 129, win or lose Hominick was walking away with $6000, which is absolute shit for a co-main event.
Thumbs up if you think the following would be the greatest scenario for the UFC. Silva beats Okami, then GSP beats Diaz, all the while the UFC legalizes MMA in New York. St. Pierre vs Silva in 2012 at Madison Square Gardens!!!
@ianhudon lmfao, sarcasm bro. I was poking fun at your spelling mistake. I know too much about the ufc, all i do with my life is research it and train. The fight nights are shitty cards though, (don't get me wrong they are great to watch for free) but as far as name caliber goes, only about 50% of the PPV events live up to being worth my $50.
Ariel, ask Dana why match up BJJ experts and strikers with wrestlers next time you see him please. Sick of this ground and hold bullcrap. some of these fights are getting boring to the point i leave the room to go smoke a cigar. tell him it should be a rule that if a card has wresltlers in it, we should get a 50% discount on the ppv cost. Thanks
@nizepart0519 to be honest I'm not a huge GSP fan. Hes fights are mostly very boring. But he and hes couches understand to put a gameplan that works. Hes very technical while Diaz is more of a brawler I'd say (havn't seen many of hes fights though). Let's see :)
im a big mma fan BUT the way mma is set up is good for the fans and the ufc, but the fighters are gonna get ripped off. Now if u want to make decent money in mma u have to sign a contract with a zuffa owned promotion, either ufc or stikeforce, If they dont offer u a decent contract where are u gonna go? The ufc pays its superstars good money in order to keep the other fighters under control, because any change would have to be supported by the big names for it to be effective.
10 out of 10people know what boxing is I bet I'd if ask ten people if they know what mma was it would be 5 out of ten.give it about ten more years and these guys will make millions on a fight...some fighters already make over a mill with sponserships.look back at ufc in the late 90's they were making shit,as mma grows the fighters will make more it takes time and more mainstream exposure.
@StinkyPenisCheese You may want to give it a try. You might feel better. And yes, I get your point that we pay Spike with our time, memory space and (if we're easily persuaded) beer, burger and man-perfume money. But for most, "free" means "lower number on cable bill". Personally, I watch all my MMA illegally online, so of course I'd rather commercial-free. But I can appreciate the appeal of not subscribing to a specialty package for one show every couple of months.
I watch this video sometimes just to laugh at how mad dana gets Funniest part is when he's like... i dont think i've ever been happier lol fuck bob arum
@SSShino Until the fighters stand up to Dana they will continue to get no money. Dana won't come out and say they're underpaid because then that money comes out of his pocket. After all this is an entertainment business.
@ablackguyonweed If Carwin couldn't hold down JDS, i don't think Cain would be able to. Junior got taken down but popped right up. We'll see what happens, it should be a good fight
@secret212000 Man I understand your point and that you are passionate about it but the reality is that UFC athletes don't get near the cut that other athletes, or talent of most kinds for that matter, take home with regards to the numbers that it generates. Some of these guys are stars and they don't make star figures because this business has not yet evolved and in a sense they are being taken advantage of, even if they have been given this opportunity.
these two belong wit each other.they make a cute couple.they should go on a date.two men rolling around with each other.and then talk about it.get a life
@StinkyPenisCheese I'll let you in on a little secret: You don't have to watch commercials. When they start, you're more than welcome to get up and do something for 5-10 minutes. Make a sandwich, talk to someone, read something short, exercise, whatever. Even if you're paralyzed, you can change the channel. But if you're insistent on pure nonstop UFC, maybe you should get a DVR.
what dude? only some of your comment makes sense, try making sure you typed right before you send. But your way off there dude, the UFC decides how much to pay their fighters (prelim fighters get around $4-8000 if they win) Boxings different, they divide the earned money 50-50 between the men in suits and the men in the ring. Thats why boxers get more cash. Also proves that UFC could easily survive with half PPV and half on cable if they continue jippin their fighters.
