I thought the same thing, this guy is the best interviewer MMA has and its so weird how they both dont like each other now, theres this guy The Schmo but when it comes to serious questions Ariel has those
You can't blame Greg Jackson for wanting to make good business decisions. Should we get mad at Dana for wanting to make good business decisions? What did Bisping do? What is the deal between Dana and Sonnen?
That was a great interview. A lot of people dont like Dana, I cant see why and ever since I knew who he was, he has seemed like he is one of those guys that would be fun as hell to get drunk with. Best is - he gives honest interviews and throws in an F bomb in there to sell it...I love it.
4 years later Jones is out, Shogun is a loss away from retirement, and Rashad is probably a win away from a title shot. GSP is all but retired, Silva is suspended. Crazy how things can change
@karoolta Okami has better striking then Sonnen, thats it. But his striking will be nothing for Silva, Okami's wrestling isnt as good as Sonnen, Okami got ragdolled about for 3 rounds by Sonnen. Sure Okami can keep Silva guessing if he's gonna strike or shoot for a takedown just like Sonnen did, but Okami's wrestling isnt as good and I think Silva will just pick him apart.
If Jones and Evans both say they will fight each other, I don't see why anyone is making a big deal about them. Also good to hear that Vera is back, his UFC record doesn't show how good he really is and he consistantly puts on good fights.
I've heard the problem with Thiago Silva is his first urine sample came back positive, his second came back negative. They had to send it away for further testing. He says he's not worried. I've heard that the samples they have sent away seem t be negative as well
As a U.K fan I'm incredibly pleased of Dana's announcement that fights will be happening earlier. I always thought North American fans (who i am jealous of) were in no position to complain about event times when I have to go to town from 3am-6am to watch an event every fortnight or so. They are fortunate in comparison. Although, I can't say it hasn't been fun drunkenly harassing the milkman doing his rounds on the way back from the casino though. Poor guy...
Cool t shirt, Dana. Random scratching - itching, glossy eyes, cotton mouth (a little lick-spittle), snappy mood swings, intense concentration and random out- of-place euphoria, bloated and puffy: it kind of all makes sense now. **xy , *xy!?!
@AznboiY2J Interim means if Silva cannot fight, and the champion cant defend his belt. An "interim" champion is then awarded the belt. Although that fight would be interesting between Okami and GSP, it wouldnt be an interim fight.
If you guys watched the first Okami and Silva fight you saw that Silva was doing well and was beating Okami. Also, Silva wouldn't have been DQ'ed if he didn't kick Okamis face so hard from the upkick that he KO'ed him. I mean wow he KOed Okami clean out from an upkick.
@EvilDanzig Silva said he'll never fight Bones Gsp said he wants to fight Silva. He needs time to put on the weight, as he doesn't want to lose his speed and explosiveness. and there is still fights left for him at Weltetweight
Every fan just wants superfights Silva/Gsp or now Silva/Jones..There is a reason there is weight classes. Despite the hype, I dont think either one will happen.
@jblevins90 Hell yes he said he would be more than glad to fight GSP, in fact he said that would be the one fight he would be the most excited about. Let them fight at their current weights, whatever it's 15 lbs if it's such a big issue not to mention GSP is a pretty strong welterweight even though he is short and that's not the point of this because when fighters really want to fight each other they deal with it.
I think dana white best presidents out there he makes fights that people want n he genuine in the sense if u honest n reliable he will help you n he aint stuck up. dana white cool guy
I don't expect Silva vs. GSP will happen. For a fighter to try and gain that much weight is a bad idea and silva would have to cut even more to meet at a catch weight. Messing with weight too much can mess up your body. It would be nice to see but I think in reality there is too much to many issues to get them to fight
I wonder how big the bonus Dana mentioned is, obviously not the ko or sub of night bonus, these guys get some kind of extra bonus which is not disclosed.
@vanity81 no, im suggesting no more 2 events in 5 dayspam and then have to wait near 6 weeks for the next one with no fights. example= ufc 128 and UFN24 1week difference, and from ufn 24 to ufc 129 5 weeks stalled.
@karoolta Nobody can ever say for certain that any fighter would ever DOMINATE Anderson Silva. When you think he's out of the fight is when you fall into his trap. He put away Belfort the way he wins against everyone else... by lolling them to sleep and then either capitalizing as he's done in his early career and recently; or not capitalizing as he did with Maya and a few others. In those fights he used fear as a way to win against fighters who's striking didn't hold a candle.
@poolboyinla Ya, but Jacksons business deal just makes things complicated an hurts the sport. Bisping "accidentally" illegally kneed Rivera in the head and then spit towards Rivera's coaches after the fight. The deal was that the UFC would freeze Sonnen's contract until Sonnen's court stuff was over. Sonnen plead guilty to money laundering and has to appear in court in April. Basically, Sonnen is on hold til all this shit is over with
Boy did Dana lie.. "Both guys would jump on this fight" Silva: "Sure, it would be fun" GSP: "i dont know, uh....i have to talk to my team... and uhm...we-well, see"
Think Dana is just a little pissed over Rashad messing them about and being awkward about every given opportunity. He shouldnt of even been allowed to wait for Shogun for that long. Oh and Nice One Ariel for asking about the UK and Ireland.
@TweaksterXXX It is a known fact that was never offered, only suggested unlike the Silva vs GSP fight which almost became a reality. I don't know where you get your information from but Dana White said from the very beginning that there was no way he would allow Jones fight Anderson because Anderson has been the champion for 6 years and Bones just got the title last year, he doesn't deserve it yet so I don't know how you think he ducked not to mention you'll find Anderson saying he'll fight any1
Is it just me, or does it seem like Dana feels GSP vs Silva is a fantasy fight. But seriously, Silva should fight Okami and give GSP some time to bulk up after he inevitably beats Jake Sheilds.
I'd like to see silva's revenge on okami. They were a good match first time around at rumble on the rock but not anymore, anderson would destroy okami now!
Okami is not everybodys cup of tea but the guy has worked fucking hard in the UFC and its about time he got a shot at the Title. Hell hes already been passed over twice.
It is a known fact GSP totally dodged the Silva match. The fans wanted it badly, Silva accepted right away and even the UFC as a company were crazy about it. Dana himself went out various times saying "oh yea this shits happening" and it never did and it's because GSP fucking called him and said "dude, this shit is not cool what if i loose?" I just don't know how he can be so popular and praised but yet he won't take a fight that to other fighters would be the highest point in the careers.
if jones wins & rampage wins - then evans vs rampage 2 if shogun wins - evans/shogun with rampage next if he wins if rampage loses & shogun loses then forrest/evans winner gets shot & shogun/rampage
Bisping got $425,000 for the finale...a fucking cable TV event.Junior Dos Santos made $285,000 to beat Cain (110k to fight,110k win bonus,65k KO of Night Bonus),Anderson Silva Made 200k for the Okami fight. How the fuck did a #6ish-#10ish level Middleweight make more than Champions?Without any "Of the Night" bonuses to boot? But Miguel Torres gets fired for quoting a show. What the fuck....
