Maybe so for this particular song, but have you listened to House Arrest or The Doldrums? His lo-fi stuff can definitely compete with the two most recent albums. I used to think Before Today was his best album by far but you really have to explore the older stuff to get a grasp on how wonderfully strange and unique it is. It's music to get weird to.
