I can feel the genuine concern from Potima's about Ariel's mental state. He has been fighting Ariel during thousand of years, recognizing her as one of the biggest threads only to appear out of nowhere and call herself "Maou Shoujo"

The personality shift from bubbly magical girl to ominous overlord is hilarious & frightening all at once.

I like how even the spider portion of her body emotes in panic when Ariel turns her attention back on her

you can never trust someone when their attitude suddenly changes, when it does, you know sht’s about to go down

I don't know why but the fact that Kumoko managed to literally change the Demon Lord's personality is legitimately terrifying. Like, on an existential level.

I think seeing Ariel all silly and magical girl-like scared Potimas more than the actual danger she presented. He's lived thousands of years (I'm guessing) and this was probably the first time in eons something truly shocked him. Also something about the way Kumoko says "scary" is just so funny.

Ngl, I was utterly surprised when it was revealed that our cute spider wasnt the demon lord and instead the emotionless white-themed girl.

I'm so glad they included the magical girl entrance, I was a little worried they would skip it somehow.

So scary. Kumoko has literally, accidental as it may have been, brainwashed a demonlord and forced them to become friends for her survival. And as a spider, that makes sense. Your biggest concern is; to survive. But she does not seem to feel any guilt or moral conflict about this. Edit: spiders are scary

I'm convinced at this point that Kumoku's superpower is not dying. You could lock her into a room with all anime villains in existence and she'd survive.

So in other words, at this point Ariel is now half demon lord, half best girl.

I like how in the WN when Ariel's new personality debuts in front of Kumo and Kuro, everyone has the best reactions. She showed up at the tail end of a fight against these absurdly powerful and deadly robot things. Ariel crashes through the ceiling and crushed the Boss beneath her like it was no big deal. Announcing her arrival as " Magical Girl Ariel-chan is here!" while doing a classic cutesy pose on top of the mangled remains of the Big Boss robot. This prompted Kumo to start thinking "Somebody say something. No seriously, say something" Kuro fell to his knees and despaired over what happened to his long time rival/frenemy.

This show went from DnD to terminator real quick.

I can't express how much I love the noises Kumoko makes, the reaction noises with the slight body movements are awesome.

This series and Slime literally restored my interest in anime. I really hope it gets a 2nd season.

They throttled back the CGI... good. Finally I can look at Ariel.

Then one day she just show up all happy and sunshine while proclaiming to be "maou shoujo"

Seeing her like that be like witnessing "Ameri's and Iruma's Personality Change" from Welcome to Demon School! for those two

Her human face shows no expresion but the huge spider face clearly shows terror and relief, love those details.

The main voice actor really makes the character enjoyable. The surprised sound at 1:40 was especially enjoyable this time around, and the script is really entertaining. When does Season 2 come out? Hopefully soon :)

Not sure if to be relieved or terrified that our spider basically brainwashed the demon lord by accident. Made her more like herself. And while it was happening the demon lord is aware of this but at the end lost to herself in a way. So who's in control?
