Everything that isn't North America or North Africa is somewhat easier. Rest of the world borders would be a nighmare. But phenomenal job Jeremy, i can't even fit properly a fingerjoint.
2:35 gonna hold this down with tape *Places roll of tape on top of the paper like a paperweight* This is not what I thought you were gonna do. A little humour is nice
I could sit here and write a long heartfelt paragraph about how I like your videos, they're entertaining, educational, but I'm going to keep it short and simple. MORE videos.
I've been woodworking for 25 years and have had my own business for 18 years. I have to say, you are very talented and ahead of the rest by miles at your age. Keep it up and thanks for the vid.
Nice work, thanks for the video. So many things to enjoy in this video. Best jokes were using the tape and glue to hold down the stencil and the 2 mile radius on the round over. Trust things are looking up. Cheers, David.
I live in Maricopa county AZ and it is complicated! I loved this and I will always remember this video when I am feeling impatient with a process in the woodshop. Thanks!
Holy hell! When you showed the first two glued up and said you weren't sure it would work, I was expecting a CNC project with a heroically long tiny bit. This is a thousand times more impressive.
Welcome Back Jer. Have missed your innovation and adaptability when working on your projects. Know you are looking for something more sustainable, but in the mean time, we love the wit, charm and goofy jokes. Good luck and keep 'em coming when you have the time.
So happy to see you working with wood and making videos again! Nice job with the cutting board, don't get discouraged from making videos if you think the project's gonna fail. It's interesting seeing the issues you have and the ways you get around them.
"Turns out glue has a lot better holding power than tape." I had to pause the video because I was laughing too hard. I need to rip that and make it my notification tone for your videos. Also, insanely gorgeous work. The gaps between pieces approached zero as the video went on! Well done!
not gonna lie, that's the coolest friggin cutting board i've ever seen. While I'm from Texas and not Arizona, she is, and now I NEED you to sell me one of these.
This exhibits level of patience and attention to detail that blows my mind! Amazing work - this is the first video of yours I've ever seen but I'm subscribing instantly!
I was thinking, impressive bandsaw work, but the belt sander is no doubt more suitable for that. But it's tempting to jsut try to mate two jagged pieces on the bandsaw, with a finer blade, just to see if it can be done.
You could probably tune up your bandsaw better than I can. It would be cool if it could be done, then this would officially be a limited tools project.
Matthias, I've had good luck with mating part cutting on my bandsaw; however, some of these cuts require sharp turns that you can't get with a bandsaw blade without taking out material from one side of the line which would end up ruining the mating piece. Also, those fine details wouldn't lock together due to the width of the kerf...even with a fine blade. A scrollsaw with a very fine blade would work, but obviously can't be used with pieces this thick. All of this said, I'm almost shocked that it was possible to get all of these pieces fit together this well with the fine details. Jeremy, you nailed it!
Matthias Wandel Sounds like you need to make a cutting board like this one. Heck all the youtube makers should as a collaboration. Everyone use the same scale and have a final video of them together.
Matthias Wandel Hi. I’m new to the woodworking game, and recently inherited a decent scroll saw which I have yet to play with. I was wondering if ir could make the cut you described?
That is a work of art, Jeremy. I love cooking but if I had that board, it will never serve its purpose as a cutting board. It'll be hanging on my kitchen wall.
Awesome Jeremy! It is hard to believe that it can only be done with a bandsaw and a belt sander. Thanks for the videos. It is always a pleasure to see them.
Once all the states are done next would be the the North American continent and then the WORLD! MUHAHAHAHA. Seriously Pinky, why do you ask every night?
As usual another "Quality" build. Your attention to detail is what sets you apart brother. Look forward to more videos. Hope your job search is going well.
WOW!!! That is totally awesome!! The attention to detail and the workman ship to fit the county lines is incredible. I grew up in Phoenix and Chandler and I am home visiting my folks for the week, so this was most appropriate!
Jeremy, you are a very clever young man and I can't wait to see your next video. Keep them coming. Hope you are feeling much better. Hi from your Scottish friend.
I love this. It's one thing to make a state shape, but that's going above and beyond making all the counties out of different types of wood. and them fitting together almost perfect. Awesome
Awesome work as always, very impressive, I'm glad you decided to make a video even though you were doubting the outcome. I also want to thank you for inspiring me to work towards building similar things ever since I stumbled upon your belt grinder build, I've since built my own 24' x 24' dedicated workshop all by myself and I just finished doing all the wiring also. I'm hoping to be able to make a few of your designs down the road :) Hope the job hunt is going well bud!
