no way they coded from the ground up lolhonestly i think its just about money they betting on generating profit from mods cus they know they have a great game concept but for some reason they cant execute anything without making it worse so they hoping the community will fix they crap coding skills lmao
"Custom Creations" = crowdsourcing the creation of content for ARK. It's also a logical step in the (sinister) plans of Shi Hai. It's already public knowledge (because Shi Hai has announced it in public conferences) that Shi Hai envisions a future for ARK as a Web3 product family in which all content is premium/NFT driven and in which Snail doesn't need to spend money creating content but rather harvests money by getting a piece of the action from RMT's (real money transactions) between players. Shi doesn't see ARK as a game, he sees it as a platform that allows Snail/WC to harvest their cut from RMT's. The idea of Premium mods was just the first step on this path, and expanding the idea into "anyone can create anything" is the next step towards the idea that Snail will just provide the environment/platform while taking a cut from all of the content that content providers and players sell to each other. This is why, for example, Snail/WC have done such a piss-poor job of enforcement against people who do RMT's. Shi is not opposed to RMT's, in fact just the opposite. He's strongly in favor of RMT's... as long as Snail gets a piece of the action. It's only a tiny logical step from RMT's to the Web3/NFT future for ARK that Shi envisions.
I love ark so much but i am legitimately stunned by wild card either.... building ASA from the ground up and the almost infinitesimal chance of programming the same bugs twice in different engines OR literally copy and pasting the code and making its sooo much more unstable and worse than the OG ASE.
Totally agree, I got the same Thyla T-posing out of water glitch. The movement, like when you jump against something and kinda "slide" off of it. When you're throwing away inventory and the bar just shifts up randomly when at the end of a cell. The way you hop off of a saddle. I mean everything feels/is the same..
The dev kit updates is a subtle push to have the players create content for the game instead of the devs cause they just cant do fast enough or better than the players. We’re slowly becoming the unpaid interns of WC even more. We already do their QA work now content creation.
Skyrim modders are the same. Certain modlists for Skyrim turn the game into a AAA game all over again with 4.000 mods. You're practically required to have a 4070ti / 4080 or the equivalent AMD option, but it runs and it's insane how much change it brings.
But they couldn't do anything about SP save game issue? That's because it's a conspiracy with nitrado to get solo players to buy servers just to play. WC is blatantly ignoring this issue because it is getting nitrado more money. People are just getting servers instead of playing SP. This is a distasteful practice and believe it's probably illegal to ignore something as simple as a save game.
Or it’s the companies lack of competence in making games that don’t have game breaking glitches, I really do doubt wildcard is capable of fixing such an issue with the save games
@DC-ml6cv if it's the same mod that's currently out there( I haven't used yet) but I've heard it's broken and doesn't work 100%. Haven't even played in over a week now. I'll check it out just case. But still don't understand how a basic function can't be programmed.
@Master.skelly Been here since the beginning and have played through a lot of bugs, glitches, delays. Never would have thought something as simple as save game would stump them. If they can't fix this breaker, what's the point in continuing to produce other products?
Hold up, they bumped up The Center, pushed back Scorched Earth, AND are swapping out which creature contest winners are getting added with the maps they were specifically designed for? A:SA's development is in absolute shambles.
I feel like the center is just a better map all around. But that could just be me. I'm really happy that they're releasing the center first. Its such a well laid out map.
@@xMcNuggetBuddy Unfortunately, if my suspicions are correct, it may be more complicated than that. The Center itself is not the issue here. Looking back at the creature contests, The Center is the only map they did out of order from the original DLC releases, hosting it after the Scorched Earth and Aberration contests. My hypothesis for why they did this is because they wanted to complete the Scorched and Aberration remakes first so that they could implement them on the Center remake, which makes sense because since The Center was the second map added after The Island it is consequently the most lackluster in terms of content. I assume Wildcard pushed up the Center remake because it's really just another Island in terms of assets, so they could get it done more efficiently, but that also means we may have just gotten robbed of a Center remake featuring Scorched and Aberration content.
@@rickcharlespersonal Yup, smells like cut corners and financial problems for miles and miles with this whole project. Tells me their sale numbers were probably bogus, but we'll find out in the financial report.
I would absolutely love to see a full dungeons and dragons type server. Big bads on mountain top lairs, in castles, and deep in caves. Current maps actually work :) would possibly bring in a new demographic to ark.
@hardbrocklife i hope someone does. I'd play the hell out of that and I know of about 20 gaming groups that would use it for campaigns. We'd even pay for the mod. More than a buck too lol
I mean stupid....wouldn't yall want a game that works instead? A game where console players can play peacefully against pc players without them removing all textures and objects from the map to find everyones loot.
speaking of Ark modding, I feel like you could do the community a big favor by talking about the things going on with the Prehistoric Beasts mod, for some context the main developer for that mod was exposed for ripping assets from other games such as Jurassic World Evolution 2 and not paying her previous mod partner who she used to work with when she got officially sponsored by Wildcard and received 16 thousand dollars. There's a whole video from her ex mod partner who exposed her and it seems like she's trying to hide her wrong doings.
@@darschpugs4690 pretty slim as they uploaded a video exposing the mod creator and even confronted her in her own discord in which shortly after the creator decided to change a few things that she was accused of stealing, imo if you weren't guilty don't change anything.
To me it sounds like there's so many issues with Ark ascendant that they're releasing a Dev mod kit just so that the modding Community will fix their game
I ended up buying ASA for myself for Christmas. Ended up having to turn graphics to low to finally stop crashing every few minutes. I do like some of the improvements like building. If it was built from the ground up, why would it have the exact same bugs in many cases as ASE? I call BS on Snail Games. You mentioned modding, I really hope that someone is able to continue Hulk Gaming's legacy and bring his mods over to ASA. I loved using them in ASE.
The inability for console save to be working says everything that needs to be said about "studio" Wild Card. Game saving is pretty rudimentary when it comes to game development. I lost 3 weeks of work, on a single player game. That is laughably ridiculous. Wild Card needs to end, Ark needs to end..
@@LtBuzzLitebeer i have such mixed feelings about paid mods if thats what your getting at. if they we're smart they would let the public remake the maps. because well they would not only be sooner but most likely better then anything WC will ever be able to come up with. and then just turn around and pay for it. Giving full access for modding to us. to me is purely last ditch effort. I had been holdign off buying ASE. but i may end up buying it sooner then i thought i would. hopefully the modders will turn this around. with out the modders making more content for the game, and more people buying the game because of that. i dont see a future for WC. because they wont have the time needed to do any work themselves.
@@LtBuzzLitebeer Only if those creations are paid content. People are acting like the ark mod dev kit for ASA is some scheme to exploit modders. They literally released a dev kit with ASE just smaller in scope. They are basically just copying what fortnight did with lego fortnight and its new games with in the game meta stuff but making it a part of the mod kit. I just hope they don't do a paid mod system like bethesda tried.
Here I was thinking that " a ton of updates " meant that they will finally addressing serious issues with the game but oh no yet again we just get updates about plans updates about the company nothing to actually truly get rid of the glaring massive issues that have been in the game for years.
You know what took me out of Ascended? Nitrado and their nasty @ss expensive as F servers. 30 days for 30 bucks and 5 of those days the server was stuck in a restart loop and Nitrado just had this NFG attitude. So we returned to the SE cluster we run on GPortal. Guess I'll never touch Ascended again as long as WC has an exclusivity deal with Nitrado. 7 F'ing years, so Ascended is dead to me.
@@MrWilderNapalm Company won't go broke. Too many people love the idea of this game and won't abandon it. That's why Snail and WC do what they do with NFG. Ark 2 will never make it and they'll be milking AsA for the next 6 to 7 years.
for the love of god, PLEASE Wildcard, stabilize the codebase before adding more content and potential new bugs XD I still find the occasional crumpled up pretzel dino, including a basilo i was trying to tame.
You can import a UE4 project into UE5 and it should more or less run. You don't need to rewrite it. More people are still playing ASE according to steamdb.
Releasing a fully open MoD pack in UE5 within ARK makes me think it's a way to get content put into the game to keep folks playing and hoping it'll possibly be enough to draw in any of the players that are thinking of gettibg the game but haven't. Just a way to get out of doing their actual jobs and putting g it off on the community.
I'm with you! I have actually decided since ARK SA was announced that I would not be buying it untill I feel that I can trust it's creators. As of right now, I do not feel that I do, but I hope to see that changed so that I can comfortably buy and support it. For reference I have many thousands of hours in ARK and it is one of the best games ever in my opinion.
it was always planned, and they did the same with ASE. Probably part of their UE 5 agreement with EPIC Games since this is exactly the same style of modding system epic is pushing with fortnight by making it have games with in it made by modders and other developers, like Lego Fortnight which is basically just Lego Minecraft.
Maybe the could focus on making the game work before making new maps that also can't be played. I play single player with a pc that is above the recommendation level. Yet I don't dare explore because I get booted constantly. It took five tries to tame the same Pteranodon because of crashing.... BTW I played ASE when it came out in early access so I know about lagging and crashing.
Has performance been fixed any? I loved ASE, ran my own island and Center map back 2017+, but after 2 yrs, everybody quit. Myself included. Also noticed ASA server documentation was horrible missing/lacking. Some *.ini files were completely missing when I tried setup Asa server vs ASE. I suspect WC trying control what admins could edit. Is ASA actually running UE5.2? I think they have lied to us and actually running UE 5.0. Thus why runs so bad. Wouldn’t be first time or last time WC/Snail has lied to us.
I believe it has improved slightly. At least on pc from the beginning of December. My pc is the recommended specs and I get 40-70fps at 1080. 20fps when around the breeding base.
@@nastyned4542 Thanks for the reply. I’ve held off buying ASA Cus how bad it runs. What gpu you using? My old GTX 1080ti prob won’t even run at low setting. My friend had GTX 1080 and was unplayable for him. Then he went upgrade to 5800x3d/32 GB/7900xtx. He said was bit better but still kinda unplayable at 4k. Said was getting 45+fps. As I’ve suspect. WC has lied to community and they prob running UE 5.0, Not UE 5.2 that they said it was running. Thus why runs so bad. Seen other UE 5.x run better then ASA does. So lazy coding/bug fixing on wildcard. Not gamers PCs.
i like that they focus a lot on the multiplayer servers, but i would just love that they make it possible to increase the host distance to more than 180m like in ASE because it's a pain to play with your friends if you don't wanna pay 30$ or more a month for a server
@@kenshinhimura9387 yeah but you need like around 16go of ram just for the server plus the ram needed to run ASA and with my 16go of ram I wouldn’t be able to do it
@nofi3774 you could always buy and install more ram if your mobo can handle it. I'm running 64GB of RAM on my PC. My server runs smoothly with no issues so far
Thanks for the video. It's perfect timing. I had been debating trying this after playing ase for a bit on pc 10 years or so ago. It was an interesting concept. However, I don't like being charged full price for a game for them to learn unreal5. Then all of these issues? Looks like it's time to look at avatar closer or try to find something else. Thanks for saving me some money
They really need to address the characters and dinos glitching into the map, flying and landing on the snow mountain, walking down cliffs, walking in caves.
Tried running a server through Nitrado and the thing just couldn't stay functioning. We were getting kicked off randomly, the server would crash or individual clients would crash. I've got over 2700 hours on Ark Evolved, I wanted to love Ascended but it's just a shitty reskin of the old game with more crashes. It is prettier, I'll give it that, but pretty doesn't matter when it crashes.
The devkit thing, combined with their past and continued actions says to me that they are just trying to get free workers via modders. Given how many of the "new" additions to asa gameplay and the like seem to be not their own work (mods from ase they just put into the main game and acted like it was their work/did not credit the modders, UE5) I wouldn't be surprised if they were just looking for more mod content to steal and pass of as their work, or even try to get fixes from mods for the base game, as I have seen plenty of mods for other games that increase performance etc. and it seems pretty clear to people paying attention they did not build asa "from the ground up" given how many of the same core bugs from ase are in asa. As for the "frontier adventure pack"... this seems like trying their hand at something that should have been done well before abandoning ase and doing their best to force people to buy asa(that should have been a free graphic update as so many other games have done, and was supposed to be better coded/full of bug fixes that... well they are bugfixes, they should have been done for the buggy game they screwed up not force people to pay for their incompetence, and of course we have been seeing they didn't really do the fixes, hell, they even took away some game functions like leveling speed) which is paid cosmetics as a way to fund the game from fans without withholding content. Except, if I heard right, they may be including an exclusive actual gameplay function/content locked behind the packs, so still trying to force peoples hands instead of just providing what was paid for. It's almost a step in the right direction, which just isn't enough considering they happily ran 10 miles in the wrong direction already. They have shown an inability to hold themselves responsible, so we must do so, by giving them no more funding for constant lies and lack of product promised. I get people want a dinosaur survival game, want ark specifically but done right, but the reality based on current evidence is that just will not happen with Ark, wildcard and snail games, who are, like it or not, inextricably linked. The best thing to do is stop funding defective product and dishonesty and open up the niche ark is bloating shut for someone else to fill with a better product. Continuing to fund them while they scam you and lie to your face will not result in them suddenly realizing their mistakes in doing better. It encourages them to continue being scummy. Please stop funding this blatant corruption and scummy behavior.
This!!! Crazy how in a decade not a single dinosaur taming game has shown up to contest Ark, when it’d be fairly reasonable to create and if done decently and without the extreme monetization forced by Snail/Wildcard would likely supersede this broken dream from the early 2010’s while being quite profitable! For example I’d welcome a Coffee Stain iteration on the dinosaur taming genre with their experience making Valheim and Satisfactory; bet that could be great and different :)
Imagine players losing interest in asa so they go back to ase, then theres a 'random' bug suddenly in ase that deletes all your progress on all unofficial servers. Forcing you to either quit or play asa. 3 weeks later in the crunch they say "we are aware of a bug on ase but as the team are heavily focused on developing other ideas we will soon be deploying a small team to analyse & 🤞 fix this. While you wait why not check out our mods on asa & 'buy' this 'free' update 😅...kinda hard not to imagine these things with new & improved WC
Since sales of the game were flaccid, the devkit push with what they "claim" they're going to allow for players, they're focusing on monetizing mods once the premium mods program comes out later this year. By letting people make anything they're probably hoping this is going to keep them afloat. That's likely the reason.
people are going to create amazing content and wildcard will take the credit because they let people have full access to everything basically. they're saying they are too lazy so others can do it for free. also there is absolutely no way they built ASA from ground up, it was 100% just updated a refurbished from UE4 to UE5 and thats why theres so many issues within ASA that ASE doesn't have. And why the exploits and glitches from ASE are in ASA.
I love that they’re bringing back server transferring, it totally didn’t ruin the previous game and saw a mass exodus of the player base after its introduction
The red flag we should all see here! Once again they think by making someone else do all the work they can just profit and we will not notice. China tactics.
They need to address the issue of players on pc crashing out during boss fights, its annoying when you've done all that hard work to go into a boss run and the game crashes you out losing all the farmed trophies and artefacts?
Got sick of building in single player just to crash and have to restart everything. The constant crashes and rollbacks pissed me off to the point where i havent bothered playing in 2 weeks. Heres a bunch of mods but you cant play with them cause its so unstable. Worse than ASE at this point Stop releasing things and focus on optimization.
There are so many talented people with the ability to create some fantastic mods. To them I would just to say, find another game that is worth your time. It just seems to me that Wildcard/Snail have been and continue to use you for their own ends (unless you are getting paid for your mod.) ASA has so many of the same issue and bugs as ASE. Ask yourself, do the devs deserve your talent for free? Oh ya, love your video LtBuzzLitebeer.
feels weird that one year after Asa was anncoued to much backlash and when you were at 121k subs (congrats on nearly 68k subs in under a year) we get scorched earth. And if Asa was not buggy and worked decently wildcard wouldn't have to release all these things to keep the game alive. I also heard someone say Asa should be call Ark Survival Descended.
studio wildcard deserves their downfall if it comes. that roadmap they gave is meaningless. they are already delaying it and changing it. they are heavily relying on modders because their dev team lacks any skilled developers who know what they are doing. its taken them 6 months to release smaller less diverse maps. imagine aberration, rag, extinction, the last 3 modded maps and gen 2 are looking at mid 2026 release dates and very easily 2027.
Mario? ...maybe they're talking about the jumping puzzle on the Crystal Isles. OOOOPS! I meant The Center, which will be the first non-story map released in May 2024 with it's new creature the Gigantoraptor. OOOOPS! My mistake, I meant to say the Shastasaurus. I think they're redoing / expanding the jumping puzzle in the Center... maybe?
Just lost my 50 hour xbox single player world, I don't mean lost progress, but the whole save I left and loaded back in to meet the character creator screen 😢.
The Dino’s are so bad that u can walk your self through tek cave without a Dino and for most part nothings gunna touch u it’s like they can’t figure out the lag
I just really got into the game recently and been wanting to stream it, however the crashing issues put me on edge and I highly doubt I’ll be wanting to make any content with that in mind as I don’t want interrupted gameplay experience.
If those dev kits are all for non official servers I wouldn't see a problem with it. Be a good testing ground for future events. Also WC has been pretty on point with allowing players to mess around in the game from the beginning. I wouldn't of thought they'd have console commands open to that amount. I.E I don't personally think they made this decision for low sales more so for player freedom.
This game seriously needs a rework on the dino npcs… its so freakin annoying especially with flying dinos flying past you many times making it such a struggle to mount
They could be pulling a Tom Howard. With mod kit expecting the community to do the work to make the game great enough that they can take player creations make a trailer and such to bring people in. Just like what Tom Howard did
All of their games were ports of Ark, all of them had these issues at launch, and almost all of them were abandoned. ASA is the next attempt. Just look at Atlas and see for yourself.
When I'm able to start on a new server without having to put the -d3d11 command into steam just to create a character without crashing I'll give the game another shot. This issue makes it impossible to play sotf.
The reason I don't play Ascended is that I don't own a 4090 PC, which is basically what you need if you want your frames to stay above 60. I have a good PC, 3080/5800X3D but I've seen plenty of people with similar setups say they're getting like 30 fps. I have a simple rule; if I can't run the game in 2K60 with atleast high settings, I'm just not gonna play. I have a good PC because I wanted to have games look and feel good. When I have to play on 1080p with low settings just to stay above 60 fps, I'm not even gonna bother. 1080p is ugly
I am still waiting for the day when they will say "Due to complications we decided to bring back the old ASE servers, for a tiny sum of 60 you can restore your old character, ASA needs to go down for unknown time". Tzichinga and you fools paid another 60...
Happy to see you're still following ark's updates! I like following those videos when you make them. :) Kinda laughed a bit when you said "a small rollback" I must admit. XD There's been at least 2 if not 3, especially one that took 12 hours of progress for some people. ^^' Seems like not that much when said like that, but for some it was around 20 dinos they lost with special stats, colors, etc. plus of course all the loot they got from the event during those ours...people were MAD when I got to hop back into the official server I'm in. ^^' Anyway, continue doing those videos if you can. I'll follow them. :)
The admins sells hacks and even goes as far as making bots to raid players on officials in ase ALL just so players go into unofficial where there are “active” admins, where you have to pay real money to even have fun. They most likely are trying to do that again on here that’s why they didn’t put in a report player system, or make it no numbers name such as “123” or “human” if the admin weren’t the ones selling cheats, you would think they do these easy steps since it would’ve saved more money this way rather than hiring someone to go through 40,000 cheating tickets. Just let this game die off, they’ve gotten away with so much shit they think us players are dumb asf and desperate asf. As long as we support this game it’ll be hard for other smaller but better survival game to come up, go support smaller games.
I personally don't see much of an issue with the Devkit being released at this point. I imagine it was being worked on separately, and was released so the playerbase can keep themselves invested whilst the devs work on the game. One of the bigger aspects of Ark SE was its mods after all, and a fair bit of said mods was content that simply would never appear in the game otherwise (need I remind anyone of the 4th most popular Ark mod of all time, Annunaki Genesis, along with all its copycats / successors?)
well for japan when we place restriction on the tech they can have and sell gpu's with same number skew but lower performance, ya kinda gotta work them kinks out to make sure it works on said hardware.
I hope they add this dev kit into ase because we will be able to do so much and will keep it alive for longer too especially on unofficial severs allowing to create proper custom caves without using structures to do so.
ase wont be getting it you will have to play asa to get the dev kit. they want more people playing ASA, because more ARK 2 will be running the same engine as ASA. so they got to get a lot of stuff optimized and ready for when the release ark 2 on this engine. they got alot of work to do if they plan on releasing ark 2 in late 2024. so dont look forward to a dev kit on the old engine
It saddens me to say so but this studio is digging it's own grave... I love the concept, it's sooo good but god this game has so many issues and so little transparency. It realy starts to feel like they are just trying to grab as much cash possible in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of effort. And yes I know about snailgames but that doesn't change anything about the situation.
I would honestly like for wildcard to allow players to purchase their own private Public servers so they can enjoy the full map without others pillar spamming everything
PvE Official player who played a little bit of single player, and can confirm the "A.I." on those raptors lose all off the "A." when server is laggy, which is all the time. Wild dino action and response times makes them seem to be mostly blind and very lazy.
You asked so many questions I did when reading Community Crunch 😅 Still there is one thing to ask - why we have two patch notes manager instead of Community managera..
Knowing how wild card "thinks" Kappa...they probably think by allowing all this creative freedom, maybe a lot more people will purchase the game sooner rather then later, for the modded content? Perhaps...
I play single player and since the update I cannot play The Island. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it. I go to start a game. Pick my spawn location and it crashes to the Xbox Home Screen. Before that I couldn’t save. I’m starting to feel kinda over it for the moment. Probably just gonna give up a d come back in 6 month or a year and check it out. Bummer
Ive noticed wildcard has been favoring this chinese tribe on my server.weve reported to them about cave blocking and building in resource spawns . nothing was done .but as soon as my tribe and another put brontos in front of there base we get whiped .this tribe is still continuing the same crap. I couldnt tell ya how many tickets that server has put in.
it's like that on multiple servers, and also the Latin American players are not held accountable on the server I play on, they are allowed to build over dino spawns, block caves damn near block off access to Green op's unless you are on a flyer. Yet nothing is done about it
Different companies have different internet laws and some even include console. That could be a reason. Some inspector in Japan probably had to play the entire game and make sure it didnt qualify as porn or whatnot..
Something i've kinda noticed about the current and future thought of games coming out... I think fortnite might've re-wrote the foundation of what a game can offer now-a-days.. With the new ark dev kit and the announcement that u can build any type of mini game inside of the game, can be a huge idea for the game, if the ark isn't what players want to play and they are playing more " player created maps" the game will still have a huge player base....
