I don't know what is the cause of the chase. But the biker was arrested. I got the video by requesting the FOIA from ASP. The primary purpose of the video is to educate the viewer to follow state law and drive safely on the road.
just watching a different bike chase video out of georgia. the bike, a honda, hit 150+ and was slowly losing the police package chargers until it got caught up in traffic.
In my world, one year mandatory hard time for every mile evading, plus fines for every traffic law violated. No plea deals, no judicial discretion. Mandatory.
And Ohio, and Missouri, and Michigan, and Indiana, and Illinois, and Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Lol .... I live in a small rural Ohio town ..... There was a Family Dollar and Dollar General here until DG apparently overtook FD in sales. The abandoned FD store sat vacant until earlier this year, then Dollar General opened that one as well. Lol ..... Please understand, the town has one traffic light and 2 DG stores ....l one at each side of town. Unreal!!
Outstanding perseverence in catching your man. So, so ridiculous to initiate a pursuit, when all he'd have needed to do was stop, stsnd to account, take his citation and be done with it. How these people never end is amazing ..... I thinj everybody's aware how adamant the state of AR is on traffic .... they always have been. I drove truck OTR decades ago, and crossed AR frequently. They worked overtime enforcing traffic then, and ut hasn't changed. Kudos to tgese officers, and to the state of AR ..... Stay safe and well. ,
Wow. This was a first. As the trooper is running down the road, I was thinking "Boy, that could be the Sheid-Hopper Bypass". Then the bike takes the exit to AR5 and I said "It is the bypass". I drive AR5 about once a week to go down to either Quarry Park, opposite "the hatchery" the trooper mentions, or to the river further down 5. I've never seen a video of a location I know before.
It never ends any differently ... car or motorcycle. Run, and you're gonna get caught. Maybe skinned up too. Blue lights behind you? Stop, get your citation, pay your waiver and be done with it. Pretty simple plan too. And in the end, a ton less expensuve, youre body's not skinned and bruised, your bike's still in tact AND you hsve no felony convictions. The choice should be pretty clear ..... BUT .....
Why on earth would anyone run from a cop with a capable race car & a 2 way radio? Especially riding a Harley? Now if he had a Boss Hoss with a 454 & nitrous? He might have a chance to speed away?
How odd I live in Mountain home and rode my bike that same route this morning to calico rock ate breakfast at the printing press. This video was before the tornado.
Much as I've loved my 4 Harleys - and 2 of them really were wicked fast - they were the last bikes I've owned, that I'd even THINK about pulling a stunt like this on. Fast in a straight line is useless if you can't corner. And VERY few Harleys can. I had a heavily modified "77 XLCR Cafe Racer that would, but the vibration would kill you before you got away. My '06 BMW K1200S, on the other hand? Oh, yeah... But, I'm old and fat, now; I don't even like to ride my Harley Freewheeler at the posted highway speeds - especially out West. It will do it, but it hates it. And the gas mileage goes right into the toilet, too. And trikes don't corner worth Tinker's Damn, either. Low and Slow for me, these days...
I watched the video but I never saw the “biker”, only a guy on a motorcycle. Maybe someone doesn’t know the difference between the two. Like a car and a truck. They’re similar but very different.
