Arken EPL-4 6-24x50 Best budget choice for a long range hunting scope
Now it should be said there are many optics with similar specs, but there are very few if any that comand them at this pricepoint. Arken has been a pivotal company in the optics industry in the last 4 years. prior to them introducing their optics you would expect to pay 3x the price to aquire the same features.
Fast forward to current day and they are still doing this with their products.
There are many choices of hunting optics as hunting varties so much in application from short range to long range and shooting style greatly affects how you will do things and with what tools. this optics specifically caters to thos who want a lightweight (23oz) long range optic that can also be used for general long range target shooting. somethign of a dual purpose when you might need to do a significant amount of walking.

It's a very good scope I have one on a 300 WM and got it for $330 bucks U.S. a couple months after it came out. I've had no issues at all It's built like a tank.

Solid review, looking at one of these to put on my FX Panthera for PRS. Gonna swap the Primary Arms to a dynamic for a hunting rig.

Thanks for the review, I heard many good things about Arken and was going to get one, but it was meant for a heavy rifle so instead I'm looking at the Arken Optics EP5 5-25x56 FFP SF 34mm VPR MIL Reticle. Looking around for the best deal. Am in Europe, so we miss the great offers of the US and Canada. Cheers.

Im not a big fan of fluted bolts, but whoever made the action on that rifle knew what they were doing. Sounded like butter.

So hard to get one in Canada tho Alex. I tried for 2 years and gave up. I think Rangeview sports is the only distributor. I really would like to see you do a review on their new night vision scope. Or Thermal? I forgot what they just released haha

rule of thumb is to spend the same amount on glass as you did the rifle.

No such thing as long range hunting, past 400 yards its lazy snipping. If you can get close enough to use a bow you can get under 400 yards. Its called hunting for a reason.

Big ass blue circle on cloudy gray skies, just like mine; it gets so dark after 12 x magnification and the absolutely unforgiving eye box. Not to mention their reluctant attitude when dealing with the warranty, months waiting for a replacement; I bought four EP5,SH4, SHJ. EPL4. Sold them all but the EPL4 due to a scratch I put on it. Assembled in China. Hard to believe is Japanese glass. Nothing against you man.
@chadperry4021

What didn’t you like about the ep5? And what did you replace it with?
@carlosugarte1450
@carlosugarte1450 3 месяца назад
@chadperry4021 I found the ep5 to be good with a clear image up to 20x magnification, past that point it gets darker as the magnification increases. Might be the best one of all since it was their introduction to the market. The EPL4 is really frustrating in my case as it gets so dark and blurry at 14x , maybe good for 300 yards. Honestly Arken is Barska quality at three times the price.
@chadperry4021
@chadperry4021 3 месяца назад
@@carlosugarte1450 ah ok, I have an ep5 on my Bergara 300 prc. I have been pretty happy so far but have never looked through anything more expensive either.
@carlosugarte1450
@carlosugarte1450 3 месяца назад
@chadperry4021 There are worst scopes that cost more within the same tier. The next quality level would be at least three times the price the Arken scopes run for, so yeah I got what I paid for. Lesson learned.
