M8-8 summary : Amiya and her squad saved Doctor from the "Stone Tomb". The rescue process was recorded by a Reunion soldier. After watching the video and witnessing the great command skill of Doctor, Mephisto thinks that the "Stone Tomb" can cure and strengthen user. In the Battle for Lungmen, Mephisto was injured and depressed because his best friend, Faust sacrificed for his survival. Therefore, he enter the "Stone Tomb" for treatment. However, the treatment "fail" and turn Mephisto into a "bird" made of pure originium, which is the highest level of originium biohazard condition. When Doctor and Kal'tsit found him, he stands on a hill a of corpse of infected Sarkaz and Reunion soldiers. In order to avoid the biohazard condition from spreading out of the "Stone Tomb", there is "cleaned" by Kal'tsit team. No trace of life or corpse was left there. Before and after the cleaning, Doctor ask Kal'tsit for the usage of the "Stone Tomb". Kal'tsit answers that it is a medical chamber with a "infinite" energy source which is made by ancient human. 1% of its energy is enough to power the entire Chernoborg nomad city. The medical chamber fail to cure Mephisto because either Mephisto is not an ancient human or he pressed the wrong button. Kal'tsit also says that Doctor killed Theresia(former Sarkaz Queen, Leader of Babel) and she is still angry of Doctor for doing that. Reason that why Doctor killed Theresia was not mentioned. However, Kal'tsit swears that she still will protect Doctor until her death (this kind of sentences is always said in a wedding ceremony). After seeing the medical chamber, Doctor has some memory back. Doctor remembers that a female *human* called 普瑞赛斯(translated as priestess or PRTS in CN community) put him into the chamber. According to the conversation in his memory like "My love on you can travel though space and time. Don't forget about me.", priestess is either his girlfriend or wife. According to this, Doctor is probably a gene-modified ancient human (Homo sapien).
@@milokaw4193 Spoiler question regarding Doc and W Didn't Warf and Lancet kind of subtly hint of Doc having blue blood, or being unique compared to everyone else in Terra? Also wasn't there a trust dialogue where W tells Doc to remember the name "Theresia" as an attempt to make Doc remember his past life?
@@milokaw4193 so... Doctor is a harem mc, i dont think kal'tsit has feelings for doctor as she said can be interpreted as escorting a vital person. Could that be doctor that we use is a human that is prisoned by the mission of living endlessly, some ppl said that the sarcophagus was used as an immortality device. How many yrs old is the doc? If amiya we're to step in the tomb what will she be like? What is kal'tsit's true feelings for doc? Are there more ppl with same species as doc or the doc is the last of its kind. If FrostNova's ashes were to put in there would she come back?? If so can faust be revived. Can they manipulate the tomb's reset power til desirable result? If the tomb can restore things can it revert the infected like it was before?? You dont hv to answer these, just my thoughts...
Honestly I really like the fact that Memphisto survives chapter 8. Why? Because I like that he is like a rival to Amiya. They have excellent contrast. Amiya wants to save, but her power can only kill. Mephisto wants to kill, but his power can only save.
but he ends up in the sarcophagus (the one that doc woke up in) and turns into this bird because faust died (in meph's dialogue he said that he wants to forget everything like the doctor, he wants to forget his friends (frostnova, patriot, alexander, misha, tahlula etc) and restart. He regrets everything. but HP decides to end his story on a lullaby, despite his devilry. It's cynical and sad at the same time :(( RIP
@@frindelpaw3960 the hidden ending is Kal'tsit was able to turn Mephisto back into a human, but addressed Doctor that he might never wake up again and sooner or later, Oripathy will take him away. Now his condition is as bad as Eyja, might be worse
yes, there is secret Cutscene when you let Mephisto move in to the blue box, From what I heard, Kal'tsit told the doctor that Mephisto could be cured, but the decision to cure him is up to the doctor, whether to let him die or be healed.

Specifically she mentions that no matter what they need to heal mehpisto and turn him back into a normal infected because in this state there's virtually nothing they could otherwise do that would stop him from releasing a unique form of Oripathy worse than the normal strain. Even incinerating him might only make that worse. Kal'tsit says that after that though he'd be in trouble. He'd basically be his old self with a worse case of Oripathy. She says she could help him further but she washes her hands of the situation past that point, and says whether or not he's left to fend for himself in Chernobog, Executed immediately, or given further treatment is up to the Doctor.

Well.. I told myself I wouldn’t spoil. But it’s hard trying to look at videos at 3 AM and this just appears on your recommended. Bitter ends to enemies we hated, but we still pay respects for them after we kill them.
As much i hate mephisto ~I'll try my best to still cure him and i need answers and help us,the world is cruel in arknights world~ i dont need to be more cruel i need answers and ally :V i hate him in his present. But his old self i love him ,he is also a victim a very young victim after those suffering, i see why he turns into some psychotic human~ can't blame him in the PAST but in present i blame him but not too much he did so much SO MUCH but i dunno i still want to treat him better and get his own feet back. He needs help then he needs those ursus students help not to bully or kill him he needs to apologize and do everything he must for them i mean duhh those students suffered much. After that we treat him ~ its too much for you, but not for me. Dunno arknights made me into sooooo dramatic peep
I love how they take real life based incident into the game. SPOILER! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!! So Rhodes Island locking down the sarcophagus is a reference to Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station Sarcophagus. (Chernobog is based from Chernobyl, at least from what I heard).
So you're telling me we defeat both Mephisto AND Talulah in Chapter 8? Damn, can't wait. Vengeance is a dish best served cold altough in the case of Talulah, it'll be hot ;)
@@louiegilalano7685 no, there is kind of so called "sarcophagus", that thing can revert anything to the original state depend of what race are you, since mephisto is a liberi (bird) race, yeah, that thing turn him into what are you seeing now
In Arknights, the Evil is always a consequence of suffering, so, tu judge a devil, you have to ask yourself first what kind of person you would have been if you suffered so much in the first place. A better person? An even worst devil? Who can say for sure...?
