She literally tried to kill Furina just for her Gnosis. The only thing that stopped her was realizing that the Gnosis wasn't in Furina's possession. That attempt at assassination seemingly traumatized Furina too given how she's afraid of being alone around her, if you didn't know. I just don't see how it can't be correct to state that she was, indeed, quite evil towards Furina. If Furina had the Gnosis, or was powerful enough to attempt fighting back, Arlecchino would clearly have killed her on the spot.

@@hashtunr4952 100% but she was more or less doing it as a test to confirm her suspicions(doesn't disregard the fact she would have if Furina did have the Gnosis). But she cares more about Fontaine than the god she believes is doing nothing to stop the prophecy that is the destruction of her nation and it's people. That's why she wants the Gnosis because she sees Furina as nothing but a celebrity who is doing nothing to save Fontaine which angers her. Which I kinda get(not the whole murder attempt). You know the prophecy is beginning and yet the centerpiece of said prophecy seemingly does nothing to delay let alone attempt to stop it would infuriate people. But Arlecchino is actively asking for updates instead of letting her anger boil over. So yes it is evil of her to attempt to murder Furina, but she's also trying to save her country from what she deems a worthless goddess keeping up public appearances instead of dealing with the prophecy. it's not as black and white as people believe. Arlecchino wants to save Fontaine even if it means murdering Furina while Furina seems like she's trying her best but can't figure out how to stop let alone delay the prophecy. To anyone but Furina possibly Traveller and Neuvilette it looks like Furina is doing nothing. Granted we know nothing about what Furinas plan let alone if she has one, but it does seem like she's doing nothing on the surface if you don't really know her and aren't blinded by her act. But this is just my take on it.

I appreciate Arlecchino's depth when compared to most characters in Genshin but part of the community seems to like to tone down Arlecchino's more unhinged side. She does care about her nation and her people which is noble, but as her attempt on Furina shows, she's also very quick to resort to violent methods if she sees the opportunity or an advantage to it. That and not knowing her entirely makes her interesting to me as I can't immediately paint her as one of the good or bad people, but rather as one of the few in-game characters that falls in that gray line between both. I previously held faith on Furina since Neuvillette did state that she was collecting intelligence from across the continent to deal with the prophecy, but her meeting with Arlecchino only made me doubt all of that. She either doesn't know what to do, or is trying way too hard to keep a secret, to the point where it has become a detriment to her own image. The way it's going, it sure looks like that it will be the Traveler, Neuvillette and Arlecchino doing the bulk of the work to save Fontaine in the next part of the story. Can't wait to see it play out, honestly.
