I bought 1 because of your review, I already have Annke cameras installed(4), recording 24/7 into my hard drive, I only needed a doorbell so I can talk to people, the subscription is the cheapest to get 24/7 video recording, thanks man!!
At 0:32 when you show the back it has 2 metal pins . This is for the existing door bell wire to power the unit so you don't need a battery and it allows the existing door bell to ring . The red and white wire you have sticking out of the wall is your existing door bell wires you just connect them to the 2 screws on the base you screwed into the wood and you never have to worry about a dead battery . When you have the wires already there just connect them to the base . The battery is for when you don't have existing wires . Its like using your laptop at a desk and using the battery instead of connecting it to the cord . Don't you want to use the inside door bell you already have ?
This is the new user interface (UI). I recently updated to this. Before this UI, you could create custom modes which was great! I had about 5 modes setup in the old UI. For example, if we were home and enjoying an evening out back, I had a mode for "home, out back." In that mode, we would be alerted if something was happening out front but not getting constant alerts about activity in the back. With the new UI, you get THREE modes. That's it! You can setup rules for each mode but it is extremely limited. Now if we want to be out back and not get constant notifications, we have to either manually disable the back cameras or put the Arlo system in "Standby Mode." That means it's completely disarmed. If something should happen out front, nothing will get recorded and no alerts go out. Not having custom modes must have been a decision made at Arlo by someone who clearly does not work with home camera systems. PLEASE BRING BACK THE CUSTOM MODES FEATURE!!!!
I have this door camera and it is good but the battery does not last 6 months I find myself charging it every 5-7 days and it barely gets used. An Amazon delivery every now and then that's it
Had a Wyze indoor cam, and it said if you bought a memory card it would record without having to pay for a subscription. But after a few years the company deliberately changed its software to obsolete that feature, so that now the 32Gb memory card was useless, and you had to pay 'em a monthly fee to record. So I said NEVER AGAIN will I buy one of their products.
