Don't forget.... if you have satchels or C4.... set them up on buildings the enemy are likely to use and blow them ahead of time or while they are in them :) I used this tactic a lot in ArmA 2, and even a little bit in Dayz when that was still fun.
@@kingzeeb319 That's a four year old comment, my friend. And most Milsim units use between 10-30 mods, which tend to be the more popular ones regardless. Vanilla Arma 3 is terrible, vanilla Arma 2 was far better.
I don't even play Arma, But I have watched all of your guides and 90 percent of your videos (skiped some of the long ones). Just thought you'd like to know that even people who don't play Arma enjoy your videos immensely. Keep up the good work.
IndustrialDonut You find it in the backpacks section. Remote Designator. Can’t remember if it’s folded or dismantled so check both D and F in the alphabetical order for it
Dsly, have followed your work for many years, much respect. This is the best block of instruction by far; concise and accurate. Ancient proverb: " Execute Fundamentals Correctly ". Salute ~S~
Most of the servers are Altis Life, Exile, or Wasteland. Which is not what I want. The domination servers are just big groups of infantry sprinting for the center of the town trying to get a tiny bit of action because CAS has wiped it almost completely out. It's just transport, sprint, pickup, repeat. It gets old.
+Macho Bravado This type of gameplay is only found within clans (known as Units within the Arma community). Since it requires an organized group to play these, you won't find this on any public servers. Just google 'Arma 3 find a unit' and you'll see a subreddit dedicated to group joining. Hell, you can even message me and join my group, if you want. We're a compact group of around 25 people who do mostly co-op missions, but we aren't strangers to adversarial play. :)
When defending choke points, machine guns are king. They have enough ammo to deal with any threat that doesn't include tanks and helicopters, as well as having the advantage of a bipod to help with stability. When defending open expanses like fields, snipers can also come in handy as they can eliminate the enemy from a greater range and with greater accuracy than a standard rifleman. If you're going to defend a building, make sure that you can get out, because a door doesn't really help you if it's on the side where all the shooty things are coming from. Also, destroy buildings both before the attack and when you retreat from them to give the enemy as little cover as possible. If the enemy throws smoke grenades, start shooting through the smoke because there's probably somebody there.
These guides make the game seem like it is an amazing tactical shooter, which, mechanically, it is, but there are not many people who play it this way. This kind of strategic defence just does not happen on public servers, it is just a bunch of COD players ramboing, and there is no squad cohesion, and there are no 'leaders.' The game that you make tutorials for does not yet exist. The only way that you can even get close to this kind of gameplay is by joining an extremely serious group.
+Alex Bennett I know this is late, but there is a flaw in your thought process. Finding a group like this and joining is itself part of the selection process. Those COD ramboers will never put in the time to find good groups to play with. If you aren't willing to put in the time to find a good group, maybe a group like this isn't the best place for you? If you don't have the patience to learn about different groups and how to join them, will you have the patience to learn the ropes? Will you have the discipline to call out coordinates before engaging an enemy, or will you wantonly fire around giving away your entire squads position? Will you think to yell "frag out" before chucking a grenade, or will you just chuck it and pray no friendlies are over there? I get where you are coming from, but anyone who isn't driven to find a good group (and there are literally hundreds of good groups out there) really isn't trustworthy. You end up coming across as just another COD ramboer. And if that's what you are into, that's fine. But why complain about a bunch of COD ramboers when that is exactly what you are?
Awesome work as always! But does anyone know any servers that actually utilize this level of tactics? Been looking for one of these "realism" servers. Preferably in the AUS/Oceania region thanks
+Clinton Oh Try trolling the ArmA subreddits, ArmAholic, etc. etc. to find a community. Chances are you won't find a public server with it, but nothing wrong with private ones.
+Clinton Oh Aus Corp Company and ATAF are two Australian milsim communities that I know of. Might want to check those out if you are looking for that type of gameplay.
+Clinton Oh TBSG, we're recruiting. Join us on ts: ts.tombstonegaming.com We play a fair bit of tactical battlefield, in which these strategies can be used against other players. We also play on private servers against AI.
I got to ask something. Im getting a new grahpics card. Im getting a GTX 980ti SC+ ACX 2.0 with a backplate. will my grahpics card help my fps in arma 3?
this game runs heavily on a CPU rather than GPU. if you wish to invest in a PC for this game I would go with an I7 and gtx 970. a gtx 960 could work well as well if you don't have the money for the 980
+i ate your gerbil Yes, thank you, I know. But they are no where near as detailed, or good, as the videos that Dslyecxi creates. To see the video from a player's (not creator's) point of view is always better in my opinion. Peace
1:03 - Gotta love how farmyards with a bigger amount of houses in Arma count as villages, and bigger villages count as major cities... The only settlement I'd call an actual town in the Republic of Altis and Stratis is Kavala. Pyrgos... well it's a _small_ town at best. I wonder what life on Stratis was like before it got militarized tiny huts here and there, and two villages, Girna being very small of a village... then there was Kamino village, which was probably no larger than Girna, unless they somehow removed most of the ruins completely and only left a fraction of the settlement's ruins as a target practic area. But like, watching these videos it's hard not to stop the work I'm doing and just start Arma... damn.
Me: *Drives around* Also me: "Wait is this a mine?" *BOOM* What i wanna say with this: If there is a odd spot on the ground drive around aaaand another thing: mines are powerfull and can screw your plan to 100%
