This shows you how to add a para drop into your mission. This works for AI troops as well as human players.

Thanks so much for all of these great vids and obvious hard work. Been beating my skull against a wall trying to figure out a way to make a para drop and this vid popped up. Still cant get the speed to slow down, but I'll figure it out, I think lol. This in-itself is worthy of a monthly sub. Thanks again!

The RHS paradrop script makes the static line parachutes; the code explained in this video can be used on a move waypoint and that should ensure everyone has the same parachute

if your getting an error saying something like the init is missing a ; then change it from flyinHeightAGL to flyinHeightASL

I'm finding that if I place the paratroopers into the aircraft on the ground, when they eventually land on their parachutes, they always without exception try to walk/fight their way back to the airfield they took off from. That's frustrating.

any clues as to why i cant load troops in the plane - it worked once. Now when I drag and drop they just land outside of the vehicle I can’t place them inside

Could the reason for getting two different kinds of parachutes be, that you use the RHS script built into the RHS waypoint AND additionally put your own script into the "On Activation" field? In your video until timestamp 08:51 you use a "standard Arma 3 move waypoint". From 11:46 you use the RHS Infantry paradrop script. At the bottom of the RHS waypoint there is a field "Script" which points to the "RHS built in script" " hsafrf\addons hs_c_air\scripts\WP_ParaInf.sqf". So you have two different scripts executed with one waypoint at the same time! I think you have to choose one of the two options. The standard waypoint with your script works fine, even without the RHS waypoint. And the RHS waypoint works great without your code. Or am i totally wrong with this? The second thing are the "double" waypoints at timestamp 07:45. These are 4 waypoints. When you highlighted the Plane you marked all units in it. So when you thought you created one waypoint, you really created 4 (for Alpha 1-2, Alpha 1-3, Alpha 1-4 and Alpha 1-5). One for each marked unit. Then you moved one waypoint up (the one for Alpha 1-5 as seen in the video) and as you deleted the "ONE" remaining waypoint on the ground you really deleted the remaining 3. But that's not important. I searched a long time for a working script. I had one for Arma 2 "decades" ago, but that has been outdated for a long time. Now, thank's to you and your video, i have TWO working options for a paradrop script. Thank you very much!

Would anyone know how I get around the bug with this when also using ace? The hurc will sometimes do as it’s told when the player isn’t in the vehicle however when I am, the ai just fly off and try to land somewhere

Is there a way of putting thier backpacks on their chests when they spawn in? Want playable units be able to land then switch their full backpacks to chest. At the moment it just deletes the backpack and replaces it with the parachute.

There is a mod called 'back pack on chest' but you'll need to also use ACE for that.

Someone posted a comment about keeping your troops in the vehicle, which appears to have since been deleted. Just to be clear, the whole idea of this tutorial is to have your troops GET OUT of the vehicle.... :D

So now I have to ask. How do you make the ai and you all use static line Parachutes. Also, can u make a video showing how to make the ai paratroopers have a backpack on chest like Real paratroopers so when they Lans they get rid of the Parachute and put on the backpack. Mabey u can explain how the backpack on chest mod works

Are you aware of a script that will dump the paratroopers out in a short distance? I know you mentioned slowing the plane down so they jump closer together, but that has been only somewhat effective... If you can think of anything, I'd love to know! Thanks!

@@OnlineCombatBN So, I looked at the waypoint, and under "Waypoint Specific - Waypoint: Infantry Paradrop" there's a delay setting for how long to wait for each drop. I think that'll do what I wanted.

@@OnlineCombatBN Nope I didn't do anything to the scripting/code at all. I was worried this error was going to popup and then BAM there it was. Some reason my comment got flagged for being spam. Not sure why ?.

I'm using this for a paradrop infil and one of my AI guys is dropping with a static line chute like 400 meters early. Whats the fix for that?

@@OnlineCombatBN Something I just noticed, in the video the flyinheight script says ASL but the pastebin link says AGL, but I got the parachute issue sorted out, but my plane is still flying the contour of the land and I cant figure out why. Just got back to editing it since my computer kind of broke a couple weeks ago.

Then you're missing something. Make sure you have RHSUSAF loaded. Are you also using ace?

Thanks for this video. I hate to ask but I've pasted the script (below) into the herc under object init field and I get this error "init: missing ;" but the code im pasting has that. So im not sure if someone may know what missing here? I have no other scripts running. Thanks and the video have taught me so much. I really appreciate it. I used the code exactly in the way it was shown but still the paratroopers wont jump out whats wrong? Is this waypoint even useful? I always have trouble with the get out waypoints as well.

@@OnlineCombatBN Probably too many. But I got it working by downloading this really useful composition on the workshop called paradrop. I just copied the code from the waypoint into mine. My campaign has just been released titled Mafia Sahrani. Please check it out and lemme know what you think.

No, but you still need to run RHS for the para drop waypoint, so you may as well use the RHS herc.

Ok that's interesting, I'm trying to run this script for a ww2 scenario using a plane from Iron front. I set it up but every time I try to play the map from the editor it gets stuck on the loading screen. If I delete it the map runs fine so there is something it doesn't like about this script or using it with those assets. Any ideas what's happening?

No, but the RHS mod need to be running to enable the para drop waypoint. Doesn't mean you have to use RHS units.

If you used the code exactly has I shared it, it will work. That error happens when there is an error in the Code.
