Arma 3 how to set up a P-drive 2021 

I'm used to instructing groups, so its weird to make a video talking to a screen, Thank you for the comment and the quality will improve as I get more comfortable and learn how to edit videos better, this was a live stream with no editing.

@@reggaeman007jah mostly development set ups, on my twitch we live stream our current progress. I still owe a few videos about how to set up the ace development environment. I might go over VScode and plug-ins . And how to do live config reloads aka no game restart

@@reggaeman007jah I just noticed a trend new new developers had issues setting up their environments for mod development, each project will have some minor differences but I just plan on covering the basics, I might go over config’s and how I made a crow system , or how to flood a map, or change the grid coordinates to 1km squares instead of 100m boxes

@@techdadtv5765 Sure, I def need to edit my comment with some context.. so @12:35 when you're talking about the P drive boot trick I was having a issue finding the startup folder. My problem was I kept typing shellstartup with no colon which is why I kept getting a error. In trying to save other newbs I think I made it more confusing without the timestamp or info. BTW great video helped me set up my p drive with ease.

@@gfunk8940 Thanks for the info. I’m Thinking about remaking the video, trying to cut it down to 5 minutes or so. I’m also going to be making a video on a home server build, and setting up multiple servers from scratch. Any input really helps, I might breeze over something like that.

@@Nochtur I had the same problem. What worked for me was downloading the essential Mikero's tools separately (Arma3P, DeOgg, DePbo,DeRap, ExtractPbo, MakePbo, pboProject, Rapify) and then everything worked for me.

@@Nochtur Also make sure you run ArmA3P as Administrator

There are a few ways to do this, you can edit arma3p.bat if you know how so you but, Its simpler to make a quick batch file to mount the virtual drive 1. Make the batch file -- create a text document and change the name to *mountPdrive.bat* (make sure you have show file extensions enabled) if exist P: (subst P: /d) subst P: E: ew\path\to\drive change E: ew\path\to\drive to the drive and folder you wish to use 2. Save and the .bat file and double click it to run and you will see your new virtual drive 3. If you want it to mount on startup move the mountPdrive.bat startup folder -- open the run menu ( windows and s) - type shell:startup - place the *mountPdrive.bat* in the startup folder after run arma3p.cmd and it should unpack to the correct folder Join my discord if you need help Documentation docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/subst
