My pet Armadillidium klugii ‘Montenegro’ Orange Isopods are thriving, but need a bigger home!
I am very satisfied with the substrate I used in the smaller enclosure! Check out Biolyves if you would like to purchase some :

Thanks! They seemed to be doing quite well in that small enclosure, but it was definitely time to upgrade! 😄

Hello, I do have a question: can Isopods ( and springtails) catch roundworms??? My bearded dragon got some and they suggested I change the whole substrate. Now my concern is: what am I going to do with the cleanup crew? Can they have roundworms and if so, (how) can I treat them??? I didn't find any information about that topic and I am hoping you know sth about it. Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany.

Typically, parasitic roundworms have more specific hosts, so would probably not infect your CUC, but it hard to say for sure. Part of the problem is that any environment that keeps isopods and springtails healthy might serve as a place for roundworms to survive long enough to infest your bearded dragon again. I am not a veterinarian, though, so I would ask about that. Best of luck!

They are sharp looking! Are you selling these yet? Happy holidays and Merry Christmas, in the event we don't chat until then!

Would Zebra isopods be alright with Dendrobates Auratus Poison Dart Frogs as part of the CUC? So long as you already have a producing colony?
@Aquarimax
@Aquarimax 8 месяцев назад
They wouldn’t be my first choice, as they tend to be plant nibblers, and prefer a little more of a moisture gradient and more airflow than dart frogs, but might work

Would using super worms as a CUC for a BTS be harmful to the reptile. I am worried about them chewing on him while he sheds
@Aquarimax
@Aquarimax 8 месяцев назад
Fortunately, reptiles are far less vulnerable when shedding than arthropods are when molting. That said, Superworms (especially the beetles) at high density, if too hungry, might try to nibble at a BTS. Kept at lower density with access to food, they should be fine.

What species of isopod do you recommend I keep with my dart frog she is a Dendrobates auratus and I need to scale up my cleaning crew
@aperson558

Porcellionides pruinosus is always a good go-to. Highly prolific, but not enough to overrun the tank easily; surface active and very cute, but not bothersome; soft-bodied and easy to prey on, but not so squishy they'll die if you breathe on them. They tolerate quite the range of humidity as well.
@aperson558
@aperson558 9 месяцев назад
I also recommend Neanura growae and/or Yuukianura aphoruroides as part of your cleanup crew, as both are prolific springtails that are visually striking. Ceratophysella sp. "Lilac" and its morphs fit the bill as well. According to some hobbyists (specifically InvertebrateDude), Y. aphoruroides is quite resistant to predatory mites, to the point that they have almost disappeared from his cultures of that species.

Yes, Porcellionides pruinosus is a great option as long as there is a little ventilation 👍🏼
@ibugman9815
@ibugman9815 9 месяцев назад
@@Aquarimax I generally keep it around 94% humidity is this ok?
@Aquarimax
@Aquarimax 9 месяцев назад
@@ibugman9815 should be fine if there is ventilation. They are fine with high humidity, they just don’t seem to like stagnant air.
