No, how much? That's a pretty big loop of 1/2" for a direct drive to be tugging on. That much brand new 1/2" is worth about 6 or 700 bucks.

@@CJSaws the bar and chain work Superb on the machine! And it eats wood,Fast! Hawarden bar but found saw to be much more suited for the setup that's on it. Only used it for its capacity never bogged down. Thinking about 3k range new chain if you can find it, is expensive. Purchased this chain for around d 600 dollars 20 yrs ago, you can change set up to 3/8 for not much. I used saw for specific things and have many saws set purposely that way don't add up unnecessary ti.e and wear just using one saw.

It would be about the same. Fir has more drag on the chain because of the sappy resin.
