They're still touching reigns. Maybe not pulling them, but still touching them. So disrespectful.

That's very interesting to see, the second sub-unit that presumably took over from the other sub-unit that was there over the weekend, has black Cavalry-like horses. I wonder where these horses are coming from, did they borrow them from somewhere or are they Artillery horses? They still look smaller in size plus they have "hogged" (shaven) manes, just like standard Artillery horses do, so they are not from the Cavalry.🤔🤔 I have two questions: 1. what happened to the standard Artillery bay (brown) horses? 2. did this sub-unit take over from the other sub-unit (with the Artillery standard bays) in the Cavalry fashion, when they change Regiments? or was it a different ceremony? the video doesn't show, that's why i'm asking. Thank you!😇 P.S.: LOVELY Brutus, in the middle of the Police horses' group, at 26:55, passing by!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Later edit: it seems someone answered my first question that i had posted on another channel. These black slim horses belong to the Artillery as well. The Artillery has two sets of horses: the bay/brown ones that pull the guns and are usually seen in parades, as well as these black slimmer horses that are usually used for funerals (it seems these horses were used to pull Queen Elizabeth 2's coffin at her funeral).

@@Londonchronicles Always a pleasure, thank you so much! It will be interesting to see how they take over the guard from each other (i believe there are just these two groups: the group with the bay horses and this group, with black ones). As far as i could observe, they copy the Cavalry almost to perfection in all they have to do, from changing the horses every hour, to dismounting, to changing the gateman/chitsman, to the 4 o'clock inspection. However, there are two small differences: 1. they don't use the same space for the new horses, when they come from the stables, before heading for each box ( it's almost as if that place, which is located right in front of the stables' door is strictly reserved for the Cavalry haha😅) 2. they don't slap the horses on the neck, before dismounting. I also noticed they like to refrain from shouting at silly tourists, as much as possible. Yes, they use their voices to correct tourists but they don't shout (shouting is strictly reserved for the Cavalry😅😅). I also noticed they are super polite, at one time telling a tourist "Don't touch the reins, please". Wow!☺ It is really interesting to see they are not used to the daily "martial-arts shows" between silly/nasty tourists, horses and troopers, like the troopers are🥷🥷⚔💪💪😅😅

P.S.2: if you want to see the statue at 51:21 mark, as well as Whitehall Boulevard (between the statue and the part after Horse Guards), in the 50s, watch the movie called "23 Paces to Baker Street" from 1956😉 The film has a wonderful script, it's a thriller/mystery movie, shot on location in London. The main character's apartment, played by Van Johnson, is at the last floor of a building that oversees Horse Guards and Whitehall Bd😅 Just watched it last night and i was super shocked to see what everything looked like back in the day 😀 "DDF:Movie Collection" here has it.👍

Why, Why, Why do people offer their hands for horses to sniff like a dog? Horses have your, scent, emotion and general knowledge of whether they like you or not in the first few minutes of their arrival in the box, from this information they will decide if they will let you be near or touch them, they are far more intelligent than most of these rude moronic tourists. They should be left in peace they are working doing a very important job of guarding one of the entrances for Buckingham Palace. Also horses in general don't like their nose or faces to be touched or rubbed, the neck and shoulder are generally OK unless told otherwise by the horse or guard. All that constant noisy chatter, plus traffic noise, ambulance and police sirens plus the foul stench of traffic fumes is not good for horses either🥵😡

These guards should be more aware of the people holding the horses bridle, the horses don't like it this is a underhand way of not being told off for touching the reins no part of a horses tack should be touched at all.

She wasn't crying; just something was in her eye. The armed police officers are doing an excellent job, especially when they go to check on them. Thank you for commenting! 😀
