This is another video recipe, shot by me, before the Russian war in Ukraine.
Armenian GATA is a world famous pastry, but perhaps not everyone knows that in Armenia it is cooked in several versions.
Today I am sharing with you two ways to prepare the filling for this pastry: salty (more often called unleavened) and sweet, vanilla, without nuts.
For test:
flour - 550-600 g
butter - 150 g
a pinch of salt
baking powder - 10 g
egg - 1 pc. + 1 protein
sour cream - 250 g
* it is important that the dough is not kneaded for a long time, collected in a lump and that's it, you're done!
* leave the finished dough in the refrigerator for 40 minutes!
Filling 1:
flour - 1 cup
salt - 0.5 teaspoon
butter - 20-30 g
Filling 2:
flour - 0.5 cup
sugar - ~ 0.5 cup
vanilla sugar - 0.5 teaspoon
butter - 20-30 g
