AC AI in AC 6 is really lackluster. even tho i love AC 6 and its probably my favorite AC. the AI is pretty awful. arena was a joke. the walter boss was piss easy and felt lackluster after the amazing mission before that.

A.I in fromsoft games is not necessarily the most sound part of their design sadly. But to be fair this game has some of the better ones all things considered.

AI in From Soft is basically movement, evasion on input reads, and a set attack moveset routine. This moveset can make their characters look like they're dancing. (Like in Sekiro) But in AC it does lend itself to being more about the weapons and loadout of the AC that dictates how it pilots. Which honestly fits Armored Core to a T.
