Dr. Saotome: "Shinn, I have a job for you. Arquebus put out a request to eliminate the Liberation Front at the Gallia Dam Complex. The same request Balam had put out twice. Both you and Kira thwarted their plans when you took out their mercenaries. The request was taken by an extremely infamous outfit called 'Branch'. All the mercenaries in this organization are the best of the best, occupying the top ranks in the Arena. This one frightens me. It seems the time has come for us to pay the piper."
Shinn: "What's with all the doom and gloom, doc? This request seems just like any other. Liberation Front is about to be attacked by some hired mercs, they want me to take them out."
Dr. Saotome: "Handler Walter contacted me the other day. 'Raven' met the real Raven yesterday."
Shinn: "... You're not saying what I think you are...?"
Dr. Saotome: "The short story is, the corporations got to know of the Coral and were able to enter Rubicon III thanks to Branch."
Shinn: "And Raven is one of them? If I remember what the PCA pilot of the CATAPHRACT said, Raven was the one who leaked some data."
Dr. Saotome: "Years ago, Raven leaked the information about the Coral to the corporations while King and Chartreuse of Branch damaged the Closure System when they attacked LOC Station 31 orbiting the planet. That opened a window for the corporations to avoid the Closure Satellites and enter Rubicon III. The same window Walter and we used as well.
Shinn: "An elite group. Few in number but can single handedly turn the tide. What happened according to Walter? I can atleast tell by your tone that Kira must have won and that Raven fellow will not be coming back."
Dr. Saotome: "A part of me is surprised Kira managed to take down Raven. I am fully aware that Kira in the Freedom couldn't possibly lose to any typical opponent. But I'm trying to tell you that, like Raven, there are others down here whose skills exceed far beyond common sense. They are that good!"
Shinn: "They are trying to provoke me, aren't they? That's why they're attacking the Liberation Front at Galia Dam Complex. Tell me about the rest of Branch."
Dr. Saotome: "The Liberation Front sent these photographs. The tetrapod, AC ASTER CROWN piloted by King. Mission success rate of 89.6%, his reputation is such that he's advertised as the 'ideal mercenary'. He engaged an entire fleet of PCA warships solo during the raid at LOC Station 31. They were no match for him. And this hover tank is AC UMBER OX piloted by Chartreuse. Any opposition is literally bulldozed down by her. 'An unstoppable force' is what she's often described as."
Shinn: "Doc, I know what you're trying to say. But I'm not going to refuse this request. If we run, they will simply come after us. Atleast here we are on familiar territory and the Liberation Front's forces can provide some distraction."
Dr. Saotome: "One last thing. The merc 'D' whom you fought the last time at Gallia Dam was a member of Branch too. That's why he knew you weren't 'J'."
Shinn: "Oh...shit..."

Branch Operator: "Your impostor must be quite impressive to take on both King and Chartreuse."
???: "We've seen enough. Let's end this. Launching."
Branch Operator: "Be careful. Don't forget, Raven also lost the other day. We can't afford to lose you too."

King: "Chartreuse! Withdraw! Abandon your AC
Dr. Saotome: "AC UMBER OX destroyed! You just killed a legend! We're gonna be rich and famous at this rate!"

J: "Dr. Saotome, I presume? You seek an end to humans' dependency on Coral and other obscene powers. On that we can agree. D has left Rubicon. Driven away by you, Shinn. And Raven was defeated by Kira Yamato. He was another who had potential. The power to destroy the current system."
Shinn: "Quit your babbling and just go down!"
J: "The Ultimate Coordinator and you. One destined to burn all to ash. The other with an enduring will to fight. I want to know which is real. And when I have my champion, I will kill them. I am the Reaper after all."
Shinn: "You're insane."
