It's great to see Arnel being successful, seeing as he's an old friend of mine and my family as well. Hanging out in Hong Kong with all the musicians we all knew... I just see him as the Arnel I've always known.

Still watching in 2020. It's fun to see Arnel just chillin' and he gets called on stage to sing a few lines of a Chicago song. I admire a lot of singers, but Arnel has a special place in my heart. ♡
I'm an 80s kid and it's really a PURE JOY to see arnel singing these 80s songs so brilliantly and seeing how other great musicians have the utmost respect to him. Peter Cetera, that very unique and beautiful voice, was on this stage and it was a great delight!
Sadly many people would just say he is a copy cat. People don't really have any idea how talented, kind-hearted and generous Filipinos are. In fact, we Filipinos grew up in our environment hearing these kind of music and we tried to sing a long with it because it makes us happy though 3/10 filipinos are wack at singing 😄, but still we love these kind of music more than anything else. @victoria carpenters I'm glad you do like Arnel, SP fans from the US bash and hates him little did they know that this karaoke guy (according to SP fans) is way way better in terms of vocals then any great singers in the US he too can mimick the voice of different legends perfectly... I love this! Arnel is a very talented fellow and I enjoy listening to him sing a variety of songs from different artists. Peter is my #1 favorite singer and I loved Arnel's reaction to Peter coming on the stage. That was awesome!

I love the impromptuness - goes to show how much David Foster believes in Arnel - at a second's notice. Just see how he starts getting the music in full as Arnel goes through the song. Wowwer! Super fun. David Foster is really the Hitman - I am beginning to realize he made more songs than just my favorites that we all have been singing through the years.

I don't know if you're a filipino or not ... but in the philippine islands that's how we do it,when we covered songs,we tried to sound like the originals,what you heard in the cd or in the radio ... people expected you to sing like the originals,your bandmates expected you more to do the same .... it's pressured to be a singer there bcuz of expectations from both sides if I were the one to say ... I've been singing in a couple of cover bands before coming to the u.s playing songs from the 80's (a little bit) & 90's like nirvana, smashing pumpkins,pearl jam,soundgarden,bush & alice in chains & I do the same,tried to sing like them as hard as I can ... but most of the songs we played are from the 90's since we are an alternative rock band ....... even though,I am a songwriter now,sometimes I still cover songs from U2 or nirvana & doing the same try to sound like them ... and people came to me & they'll always say,man you sing like bono or kurt cobain,you sounded like them ... I always tell them,this is how we do in the philippines,this is normal to us ....... have a good day !!!
