What a great Father/Daughter team. I loved this post and it helps me understand my own Father who was born and raised in Germany 1931. Both of them are a real blessing.
I am 12 years younger than Arnold, I am shocked that as I aged…. I still listen to him with respect and now have learned how great a human being he really is. Human with his strengths, weaknesses and wisdom that he has never been afraid of displaying to the world…. You simply can’t fake this display of genuine love of family …
I was very surprised watching this interview, what l got out of it was how amazing this young woman is shall we say normal and loving toward her father and l also believe it has to be so hard to bring up children in Hollywood, or for that matter anywhere else, she has a amazing personality and u can tell she shows him respect, Arnold gave alot of credit to Maria, which I thought was very important, because in his line of work he probably was away alot, but he also layed out rules, l give both parents credit, great interview with father and daughter. ❤
Katherine Schwarzenegger is so upbeat and beautiful. Katherine so much reminds me of a young Maria Shriver on the Todays Show. You can see Maria and Arnold were wonderful parents, it definitely shows.
I actually like listening in on how he was raised. If anything this really showed the difference between him and Maria. He grew up with less is a harsher enviroment...it may explain his decisions that he later made. His way of saying, "Even someone you think of as less is more". He was a good provider for his family and if he worked alot while Maria spent alot of time with the kids, it was because he was providing them with comfort and safety. Its easy to judge someone for a mistake and not look at all the good he provided for his children. He was providing for his family and he was already a millionaire when he met Maria so...he was pretty smart too. Good for you Arnold...you should nevet forget how you grew up and how you came to America...and conquered it!

Beautiful. My daughter had to remind me that it was "Father's Day". Ha! That happens. However, in all honesty...every single day is Father's Day. Blessed, indeed. 🌱
It was nice to see how similar parenting is with Arnolds family. I totally agree with Arnold on the fact that the mother is mostly responsible for the parenting when the father is away doing what is needed to support the family. I also worked hard to improve my families situation. I am a retired army officer and was deployed several times and was not home for long periods of time. This is where the mother has to be both parents, not an easy task. Arnold if you read this I would say your parenting skills with you wife is great. I can see how much of an impact your family had with Katherines infectious simile when talking with you. Thanks both of you for sharing this rare insight to parenting in general.
I'm failing as a single dad. Recently gain full custody. 15 year old daughter. Working security/ support worker. Not in school. Not helping out. Goes to gym poz. I try firm. Such Lack of respect. Cheers from oz
That's a tough one. Going it alone. Especially with a daughter. Difficult as teens are, girls need their mom's and boys need their dads. Damned if you do and damned if you don't sometimes. Aren't they quite strict about kids going to school in Oz? I know a lot of kids are having problems adjusting after being home schooled during covid. They don't want to go back to conventional school. Is that an option? Hiring a tutor.. perhaps a university student?

Katherine is obviously close to her dad, Arnold, I'm sure, has been an amazing father/dad to all his children, including Joseph Buena (don't know if I wrote the last name correctly). Katherine is beautiful, but I find Christina more beautiful

And I said how this was going to be a glimpse of our future where the Special Needs children rise up and crush the Head of Satan under the guidance of the Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary's devotion to her children is the Sacred Lens we are to view the world. It's time for the woman to take charge! WE NEED TO GET INVOLVED IN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS!
Maybe you shouldn’t go overboard with Jack because some of those things might make you look like an evil stepmother. I mean you can give the sneakers to Goodwill or put them away for a week or something less violent? I know I was tough on my kids but there are ways that are less violent to do. I think lots of the things make great stories. I was in the US Army and we used to have our beds thrown around and our lockers tossed and things like that. They are all okay. But setting things on fire 🔥 can be dangerous. Plus some kids already are attracted to fire and you don’t want to encourage anything involving fire or explosives.
I get your point, but if you watch to the end she was laughing later on and said she would never do that to Jack and told Jack that as well. They were at her father's house where he has a fireplace, so Katherine was joking and said that's what her father would do if they didnt put their shoes away. Katherine had the balance of a gentler, nurturing mom vs the strictness of her father, and she's new to parenting herself so I'm sure she'll find the right balance herself. She seems to be very self-aware.
How many of them actually earned money at age 13,14,15,16 etc....?? Anyone have to do a paper route? Or maybe work at the local grocery store? Or did ARNY and Maria open up a huge bank account for each??? Yea tough life? Skiing, Maids , cars etc......POOR BABIES 😂
Arnold is the example of how children should be raised. Yes, both parents should have a different style of goals, but regime and discipline are important. otherwise the child will turn out badly if he is spoiled. I grew up without my mother since I was 9 months old, but I don't remember. Dad showed me and my sister the way, how we should behave and not be spoiled whiny children. Did it come to Katherine now that she is actually a mother herself? strange . But it's never too late Miss. I was shocked by the ending. Dad says goodbye and blows her a kiss, and she doesn't even say it back. I do not understand that . Not even the fact that he and Dad are online somewhere on Fathers Day and not near him at this time. Arnold's children can be happy that they are gifted by such a Father with discipline and regime, regardless of whether they are rich or poor, Arnold did and is doing everything he could so that they grow up without problems and without struggling. From what we understood, Shiver's mother was probably softer on them
