I remember her speech right after she found this out. Maria praised her own her father for being loyal to her mother and a great role model for her kids. 😆. I mean that was sooo awesome.

This is such an embarrassing and painful situation that will hunt the family forever. I believe that he’s regretful and has apologized but sadly apologies will never erase the harm, pain and embarrassing situation, that will stay forever and ever. Been in Maria’s shoes is an awful experience, believe me. Whether you stay or not in a marriage with this issue it will always be hard. In her case she decided to divorce him but the embarrassing experience and the pain stays with you no matter what, The kid is not at fault but it will always be a constant reminder, it’s just sad.

Imagine cheating, getting the other woman pregnant, but you can't deny it because the kid is your doppelganger??? That's probably the only reason he had to tell the truth.

Anyone who makes a decision like he did, hurts everyone they know by their actions. If he had not gotten her pregnant, and the boy not look just like him, would he ever have told Maria? It’s always sad when a spouse makes decisions like these and hurts the family member who love them, and it also hurts the child who comes into the world who has no fault. I have always loved Arnie since I was a teen, but this is just stupid. You reap what you sow and certainly he has. Sadly all he can do is apologize and move on with his life. 😢

She always knew about Arnold's transgressions since the 80s. He had lots during their whole relationship. The difference this time was the child with the housekeeper. When they both were dating in 1984, Arnold had a brief stint with his co-star Bridgette Nielsen while doing Red Sonja. Bridgette claims, Maria knew about their affair, but she did not make a big deal out of it. She did get Arnold to commit to getting married after that, which happened shortly after that in 1985.

How disgusting!!! A real man doesn't cheat on his wife.

He should consider apologizing to the maid, Joseph’s mother, as well. She’s an immigrant with an amazing job, and no doubt a strong relationship with all of the children. He was her employer-quite the power differential. Was she really in a great position to just turn him down and walk away?

Joseph is the one that looks like Arnold the most.

I get that he had an affair and it can be a one time mistake if he shows remorse and send the maid away somewhere, but if I remember correctly the maid continued to work there even after all that, serving his real wife right under her nose.

I understand having an affair, it's an awful betrayal but certainly "common" enough. What I don't understand is keeping the maid employed in his home so she can interact with his wife and children for years. He should have given her severance pay and found her a new employer somewhere else. It's absolutely disgusting to keep her in his family home. There's no amount of sorry for that.

Even though Arnold did something awful to his family, at least he admitted to it and seemed to take responsibility for his actions. Most men in Hollywood who cheat on their spouses or gfs try to play victim or downplay what they did. Adam Levine and Shakira's ex come to mind. Again, not defending his actions, just giving my opinion.

Arnold "married up" when he married Maria. What he did was humiliating to her and their children. Cheaters don't often see the long-term consequences of their decisions. He realizes it now, thankfully, and all of them are healing.

I have watched this documentary twice . It was incredibly inspiring. It is extremely difficult to understand how he could have f…Ed up this bad on his wife who loved and supported him through everything. He had an extraordinary life with exception to this horrible choice he made. There was one part where he talked about the stain in his marriage during his time in office but it seems this affair happened way before that so one has to wonder if he had numerous affairs. It wouldn’t be surprising in the sense that if you look at the Kennedy clan that seemed to be rhe MO of the men in that family. They were incredibly driven and powerful and set incredible precedence’s but were also heathens when it came to their fidelity to their spouses. So why wouldn’t Maria fall for a man just like her uncles. It’s crazy how patterns repeat themselves and those women were all such extraordinary women. I love the fact that she immediately divorced him once she discovered the truth. Good for her. More than her predecessors who back in those days women just took it. It shows the correct example of how to deal with a philanderer. I mean she the housekeeper has their children a month apart. God I can’t believe the devastation she must have felt o fr she thought about it in detail 😢💔

Read his book. Arnold is an amazing man. He hurt the woman of his dreams, having his children, destroying his life and will never give up. Tragic, it hurts to even think about this train wreck i could just cry. I have admired this guy from the time he was first endorsed by the Weiders.

I think it's wrong to cheat and it's not something I would ever do due to my morality (my father was a cheater and it ripped our life and family apart, I could never do that to my family after seeing the damage first hand) but at the same time... Isn't it better in the end that he (Arnold) did? Otherwise Joseph Baena would not exist. I'm sure he (Joseph) likes existing and being the spitting image of his father. Also, I have no idea what it would be like to be as 'in-demand' as Arnold was. The guy was basically king of the world at his peak and would have to be batting away women all the time, constantly. At that level (and also with Arnold having a reputation as being a massive flirt) I would think that Maria might have had an inkling from the start that he would struggle to remain 100% faithful to her. I've also heard that there is animosity between the Schwarzenegger kids and Joseph Baena, which is just sad to hear if ture. He had nothing to do with the affair, it is heartbreaking to see that he is not included in family photos with the other siblings and Maria etc. (even when they attend the same events). The siblings should stick together and be inclusive of Joseph imo, and Maria should be try to be inclusive. I'm sure that if my father did have children outside of his marriage with my mother, that I would treat them as my brother/sister all the same.
