Wow. Arnold is as strong mentally as he is physically. Amazing to see someone so open about their failure, and so strong to just sit in it, and talk about it, showing all of the weakness and trauma, yet stay so solid. What an incredible person.
I knew I was right to admire Arnold for the past few decades. It takes a lot of strength & courage to talk about something so embarrassing & hurtful in front of the world. He faced his problem head on, unlike almost every other politician.
Mistake ? Joseph looks like the happiest healthiest guy out of all them I’m sure he loves his dad as much as the rest do. Arnold is so lucky he gets to have another human being carrying his blood, also love and appreciate him forever
I feel very sorry for Maria Shriver because she seems so loyal and committed, she must've been very sad by the betrayal. Arnold is one of the few people that is willing to talk about this type of thing in public. He'll always have this failing frowned upon of course, but he'll always respected for his powerful accomplishments as well.
Paul Polpiboon The book! The book ! It’s all about the book, for Christ’s sakes. Him and his ugly maid want more money. So he’s auctioning himself off at the stations who get leverage for his book. He’s a sleaze. A coward. A liar. An irresponsible idiot who has no right in anything political.
@@thrdwldgrlcollins8085 How a simple mind you can have!? You think, ALL other politicans haven´t "corps in the basemanet", how we say it in Germany. Everybody make mistakes, some mistakes heating people more than others. BUT you have to be straight with such lies and have to say the truth to who you love and who you respect. Now go to the doctor and check your anger-management - because it looks like a big issue with you have to be.
we don’t know what problems they were having and how Maria contribute to the problems. No one cheats on someone for no reason. Something was missing at that point and they both didn’t do anything about it 😢. Sounds harsh but is the truth here….. a relationship is of two people not one.
He makes it sound like his 'mistake' happened just once. The woman worked in the house on a regular basis for at least..what...14 years? That's a lot of opportunity for a mistress to poison the wife (if she wanted). It's beyond belief. He threw his life and family away with both hands.
Kathryn Molesa That’s still a shitty thing to say though. I’d hate for his kids to see things like that (which they do). Even for Joseph, I’m sure that’s not exactly a nice thing to hear. His other kids DO look like him. Very much so. It’s not particularly fair to ALL his kids to create that unhealthy issue of “oh he’s illegitimate but is the *only* one who looks like dad” . I can see that ostracizing both his kids with Maria, AND Joseph.
no the son of arnold the oldest he looks like arnie but in much better version good looking young men and also the youngest son has the same eyes like arnold yes i agree with you the other son is closer to arnold on looking
I'm very glad he stepped up and decides to be a decent father to Joseph despite that he didn't intend to have him. And you can see that Joseph respects Arnold so much - he's going into bodybuilding, following in his footsteps, and has no qualms recreating/parodying Terminator scenes.
Ezy Teri Reddy He was probably starving for fatherly affection in younger years! How terrible for that boy 🙁 So now he’s so eager for his fathers love and acceptance, it’s not his fault how he was conceived. It’s nice to know that he’s stepping up finally!!!
Schwarzenegger: "I'm an immigrant who came to the country with nothing, I won Mr.Olympia 7 times, I became a world renown movie star, I was the governor of California, I married into the Kennedy clan..." Stephanopoulos: "But what about that maid?"
@@alextogo8367 YES absolutely, that gold digging bitch was married and tried to pass of the child as her husbands, but he suspected something when the young boy said "I'll be back" and smashed the family car into the living room
@@dianasimeon1386Not racially cool? I could see that. Then again, the maid was Mexican so...maybe he just has a dark-limit. For some reason, he strikes me as a heavy-on-the-cologne type guy. Probably all those 'roids. Makes for smelly B.O.
@@dianasimeon1386 this comment seems strained. Regardless if the race, he did his wife dirty. That the maid stayed working there is just beyond my imagination.
Both Arnold and the maid were disgusting and disrespectful by keeping up their affair (complete with parralel pregnancies) right there in the house. Kmt. Wrote a book so people now pay him to read this sordid story.
HE MUST HAVE HAD BALLS OF STEEL TO COME AND TALK SO HONESTLY AND HUMBLY. THIS MAN IS A WALKING LEGEND. WE SUPPORT YOU ARNIE....yOU ARE THE BEST. AND IT'S OKAY. EVERYONE MAKES A MISTAKE.
Can`t help but hope for the whole family..and i`m an old cynic. He`s genuinely contrite but what damage, what loss...Such beautiful children..all children.
The only reason he said anything was because Maria confronted him. He was not brave he was a coward he even said in the beginning of the interview he was scared.
Ruined a beauty family by breaking it up by not only having an affair, having it with the help, not only by having an affair with the help, but not being smart enough to use protection as to not I impregnate the help.
@@jellybellyfun3288 might of started that way but they have a great relationship. He looks like his father and is body building while not using his father last name to gain anything.
Everyone knew he cheated on his wife for years. She had to have known herself. But to cheat on her with someone in her own bed, and for both of them to be pregnant at the same time is unforgiveable. It's not a 'mistake'. It's a fatal character flaw and lack of integrity. If he'll do that to his wife, he'll lie and cheat anyone. Ruined any respect I might have had for him.
wow I have a lot of respect for him for openly discussing the one thing that destroyed his family. Most people would not want to publicly discuss embarrassing mistakes that they have made. Kudos to him for being so open about his mistakes and failures.
If there is one thing this “man” definitely is NOT it is brave, courageous, or deserving of respect. This was a grown middle aged man who took advantage of a young woman, took advantage and abused his wife, and totally disregarded all his own children. Nope sorry there is absolutely NOTHING to respect about any of this. He is a complete and total failure, an example of a failed life.
DaemoniumCC .....HOW COULD HE SAID IT WAS A STUPID MISTAKE !!!!!!! WE ARE ALL NOT BORN YESTERDAY !!!!! MR ARNIE !!!!!! HIS MISTAKE WAS 100% VERY. INTENTIONAL !!!! LUSTFUL!!!!! DESIRING OF COMMITTING ADULTERY WITH HIS OWN HOUSEKEEPER RIGHT IN HIS OWN HOUSE FOR MORE THAN 13 OVER YEARS !!!!! TREATING THAT HOUSEKEEPER AS HIS SECOND WIFE WAS MOST DESPICABLE !!!!!!!!! PERIOD. IF HE HAD ANY BRAIN AT ALL......SORRY IS A VERY DIRTY WORD !!!!!! TO SAY VERY SORRY TO HIS EX WIFE ......IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER FOR HIM TO DIG OUT HIS OWN EYES AND THROW INTO THE SEA OR CHOPPED OFF HIS OWN HANDS TO BURN IT !!!!!!! THAT IS HOW THE BIBLE HAD MENTIONED ......ABOUT SUCH PEOPLE !!!!! A MISTAKE THAT CONTINUED FOR MORE THAN 13 YEARS .......WAS CERTAINLY NOT CALLED A MISTAKE !!!!! MR ARNIE, YOU WERE NEVER MY HERO IN THE MOVIE WORLD AND IN MY REAL WORLD TOO !!!!!!! GO TO HELL !!!!!!!!!!,
Courage is an interesting concept. From the outside, physically, a guy can be tough as nails, but true courage is not about being tough, it's about being vulnerable, open and honest.
Can you only imagine when he returned home Mildred get in here and take care of me she been taking care of his needs probably every time he walked through the door she knew what she was doing was wrong as well smh.
I've always seen Arnold as just sort of a character, never a real person. He is so very real in this interview. It seems like he's been very humbled by his experiences, both good and bad. I hope his family can heal from the heartbreak, as well as Arnold himself.
Hello, How are you doing? I'm really impressed❤❤❤ about your profile and I also admire your sense of humor here 😍😍. I don't normally write in the comment section, but I think you deserve this complement 💓💓💓....I'd love to be your friend if you don't mind , hope to hear from you soonest......
SSJG you need some black in you your degenerated genes are driving you crazy !! ( bill burr..prince harry ... that dead dude who was alive and crazy back in the day who was married to black Queen Charlotte!! Learn or die my friend !!
I'm an imperfect person, and like most people I sometimes get really down on myself for stupid things I've done or decisions I've made, and in those moments it is easy to gaze from a distance at the rich...the famous...the successful...those apparently living the "perfect" life, and at some level feel oneself even smaller for one's own imperfections. Regarding Arnold, I'm thankful to him for his inspiring example relating to his determined climb to the top. And now, I'm even more thankful to him for showing me that even the best of us fuck-up sometimes, and perhaps I shouldn't be so hard on myself...
Mate, thanks for sharing, I'm really similar to you in that I also constantly beat myself up when I make the littlest of mistakes, so to be able to hear that someone else is going through the same things that I am really helps brighten up my perspective of the world around me :)
THEMASKFHC No worries mate. When one is constantly surrounded by high-achievers, it can sometimes do more harm than good to one's self-image. I've watched Arnold since the '70s, and always had a bit of hero-worship going on. And it is easy in life to imagine that heroes have the perfect life, whereas oneself is just a total fuck-up. But, the secret life of outwardly successful people is often never really known. For example, look at the recent example of Robin williams; here is a guy who achieved so much in his life and was admired by millions, yet how much pain was he secretly in? Or, what about Tiger Woods? From the outside in the beginning Tiger's life looked about as perfect as one could imagine...And yet...again...he had is weaknesses and his mess-ups. Hugh grant? Bill Clinton? Mike Tyson? Countless stars who end up in rehab? The list goes on... So, whenever you feel like you made a mistake...just kick back for a moment...chill...put it behind you and then get on with life. The energy you spend getting angry with yourself today is better spent doing one positive thing tomorrow...
Huxxy .....STOP LYING TO YOURSELF !!!!!! STOP FINDING EXCUSES AFTER EXCUSES .....A WRONG IS A WRONG !!! STOP DELUDING YOURSELF .....COME OUT TO FACE HARSH CONSEQUENCES YOU RIGHTFULLY DESERVED !!!!!!!
What respect??? Just because he is famous? He is a Dog ,who knows how many women he slept with unknown to his wife,, cheating is a sin before God,,He doesn't deserve any respect
Arnold is a straight up guy and really went into each question with a straight forward answer, he didn’t get mad and walk away like some do to avoid answering questions !
Bilal Ahmed I think as a whole people have to b prepared for wat others may ask, he’s probably like me.. someone who’s patient, doesn’t mind doing favours
Arnold is a beloved figure for all 90s people, I think its touching, great he recognized the near identical son. He looks exactly alike, many celebrities have mixed raced relations, matthew McConaughey has three kids with a brazilian woman, Deniro has three, mixed raced boys with a black woman. I'm proud of being mixed raced myself.
+edd wolf " Gotta respect this Arnold coming out like that and taking responsibility about the situation. Great guy " He didn't have a choice! What are you talking about? And it would've come out eventually. It's hard to lead a double life.
In almost every case, it can be seen why something like what Arnold did really happened. But, in this case, it is really mind boggling!!! Arnold, himself, says he has always loved Maria since the moment he met her. He says she was an extraordinary woman, wife, & mother. She was loyal & committed to him & everything they built together. It makes no sense whatsoever for him to have such a beautiful, loving wife & be sleeping with a woman like their maid who has NONE of his wife's qualities. What he did to his wife, kids, & HIMSELF is truly a tragic, senseless shame.
Plus his son Joseph who was born from the affair is a really cool guy and plans to follow in his father's footsteps and pursue acting and bodybuilding. :)
I would think that with in time a child in those circumstances would understand that the comments are not about him but of the situation specially now that we see how much Arnold spends time with him and the fact that he didn’t try to hide from being photographed with him once the story was out. I’m sure he understands he was a blessing in disguise, you can tell Joseph and Arnold have a good relationship regardless of how it got started.

@@anasofiatorres4818 cheating on someone and having sex isn't a mistake. it's a deliberate choice to do the wrong thing. What i was saying is I would be offended hearing how he explains it if I was his son.
I thought he came across really badly when talking about his other son as a "mistake" and he will look after him "financially" I actually winced at the thought of his son watching that and how he would feel.
He said. it was a mistake. Doesn't matter if he is talking about the act itself. The byproduct of the act was his son. therefore a mistake. He has talked in numerous interviews saying he will have nothing to do with the boy but will pay for him. No one has to analyze anything when they have the facts,
What? Of course it matters if he's talking about the act itself or about the child he put on earth. Committing adultery is a mistake, a horrible one. The only good thing about it is that a person get's to see the light of day because of it, but that doesn't mean it was a good thing that Arnold betrayed his family. Simple as that. The kid will be all right.
Okokuqala Okokugcina yeah because he knows he's a media quack who prides himself on cutting people down for a living. Unless of course you share the same political views as Stupidopolos.
He's only "open and honest" because he was caught. Shame he couldn't be open and honest when it counted - when his family and his wife needed him to be. Or when his "love child" was growing up without a father.
I admire this man for genuinely apologizing, and taking responsibility for what he did. I realize the hurt will never go away for the family, but he is definitely putting it all out there, admitting his faults, all bullshit aside. I can tell he is making a valiant effort to right his wrongs. And the pain in his face is just heartbreaking. Arnold, I applaud you!! Thanks for being the one real person left in Tinsel Town, for not being fake, and for not trying to cover things up with lie after lie. There are some people out there that could learn a lot from the example you've just set.
You are blind. The only reason Arnold apologized is because he got caught. Even his lovechild didnt know who his real father was because Arnold kept it a secret knowing he would have lost the election for governor if he confessed earlier. You have no idea how Hollywood works.
Luke Brody Would you shut the fuck up with your know it all jibber jabber bullshit?! First off, I'm entitled to my OPINION. Second off, you know what Hollywood is like? I haven't seen your name if A-list stars...not even D-list so fucking shove it.
At least he did not do something really stupid to make it all go away which would end up being more scandalous and the inspiration of many a true crime episode.
@@madtownband still nobody can admit their fault even when they get caught kiddo. Also yeah arnold can go to hell for all i care but he was brave here unlike you.
Another example of the idiotic mainstream media focusing on the faults of Arnold rather then the tremendous successes that he has experienced from the moment he arrived in America. The bulk of the interview is focused on the affair which I think is very unfair and unflattering, yes he made a mistake, yes ask a few questions about what happened, but move on and understand that the United States is and has been very fortunate to have been able to benefit from this man's incredible energy.
Ugh, his mistake was LEGENDARY, and long term and almost seems sociopathic. He knocks up the maid and keeps her in the house for years and people are all "oh everyone makes mistakes" 🤣. Thank God we don't all make mistakes to that level. What a miserable world that would be. The interviewer had no choice but ask about it for goodness sake, it's like a frigging ELEPHANT in the room. And condolences to his illegitimate son, having to hear this interview. Ugh. Messy, all the way around. Perfect politician material.
He owned up to it? He denied it to his wife for years, and there’s no way she was living peacefully all that time. She knew. She outright asked him, years before he finally admitted it when put on the spot when cornered in a marital counselling session. Housekeeper mistress admitted it to Maria. Housekeeper mistress worked for them right until the end of the marriage. Disgusting of both her AND Schwarzenegger. He hurt his family in a sordid way and on an epic level. It takes A LOT away from the cool things he did because it was such a moral f*** up. To keep her in the house, for godssake. 🙄 At the very least send her packing with a big old payoff. Still wrong but not so blatantly in his family’s face kind of wrong.
@@benkraze3103 a lot of people have affairs, but what he did was way deeper than that. Can’t you see that? Picture that your spouse fooled around on you and either was pregnant or got someone pregnant and kept that person employed at your house. Yeah, that’s a bit more than a “mistake”.
The measure of a real man is to admit, take responsibility for and then learn from mistakes they’ve made and how not to repeat them. Much respect to Arnold for putting in the hard work to do it!
I have respect for those who don't put them self first. He mention how much everyone is hurting and how he stood up and face the world he did not blame anyone but him self for his actions and now he is doing everything to make things right. he shows he is humble and human. He accepts his son and stands up like a man to take care of him not like others who worry more about looks and hide and don't come out of the closet.
Heroic Love all the people all over the world he motivated to do great things themselves. So the guy fucked up. He was scared. People do get scared and do stupid shit. He's at least trying to make things right. More than I can say for a LOT of people out there.
He comes from the same country as I, maybe thats why I have a special few to him and his vita. With all my respect I must confess, that I always been proud to my Compatriot.
I thought Arnold handled the whole situation about as good as you can handle it, when you take in mind all the press and the talk all around the world about it. In every interview he was doing for at least a year after the scandal broke, he was always asked about what are, essentially, very private personal questions. I probably would've said it's none of your business so that's the end of it, but he patiently took his time and answered every question he was ever asked about it. That being said, it as still a mistake, and he still needed to answer for it to the public, being in the public eye, you have a responsibility to at least answer some questions. But to be constantly asked all the time about it, whereever you go all around the world, he could've simply said, you know, I've said all I wanted to say about it, so now it's time for another question. But, give the devil his due, he answered all the questions and overall handled the intense scrutiny pretty well. If most people had their personal baggage flaunted before the world, they would probably hide in a hole somewhere. Many celebrities even, who are used to being scrutinized by the public, do that. But, Arnold went out, he said, yes, I did this...and was more than willing to answer any questions anyone had about it. That takes a strength that most people just don't have. Again, I probably would've said after a while, look, anything you want to know is already out there, I don't want to keep going over it again and again. It was my mistake, I made it, I'm trying to make it better, and there's not much more to say about it. It happened, it was a mistake, I can't take it back, but at the end of the day, this is between me and my family, so for the sake of privacy, I demand you respect my privacy. But he didn't do that. I'm still a Schwarzenegger fan, and always will be. Aside from this one mistake, he still is a good model for kids, and for people in general. Everyone has their skeletons. God knows most people definitely are far from perfect. Someone like Arnold is actually probably more perfect than 99% of people out there. I can imagine what some slob at the club would do if he was in Schwarzenegger's shoes. The fact he didn't tank himself so early on, when you know most people would've done exactly that, is a testament to him and his character. Some people make mistakes in the public eye and never recover. Arnold has recovered, and still manages to be an inspiration to people, so that should be what people know him as. Not the guy who cheated with the maid and had a kid. And that's the bottom line.
***** I agree, the guy made a mistake and appears to be trying to apologize and is not running from it like so many would. I am now and will always be an Arnie guy and I really wish people would get off of their soap boxes and act as if he is the only person to make mistakes. Nice post man.
Not a respectable human being No morals Completely ruined his reputation Lust He still has no respect for Maria by saying they should be together again one day. He doesn’t get it, no Maria will never take you back. You sir are not worthy of Maria
Wats with the comment section actually praising Arnold for this? Do u guys even know the definition of mistakes? Who in their right mind calls an affair of 13yrs as a mistake? He clearly knew what he was doing & how disgusting it is to cheat ur wife but he continued it anyway.. I had so much respect for this guy, it such a shame that he turned out like this..
