It's crazy to think a lot of college graduates in California had their degrees signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, which is probably the hardest way to get a celebrity's signature.

He showed his leadership capabilities.

I commented this on another video, but I actually met him when he was governor. My class got to go to the Capitol building and take a picture with him. He even took a few minutes of his time to talk to us about the importance of education in our lives. It was a very memorable experience for us and now I realize how special and important that must have been for him to be able to talk to the next generation. My respect for him has greatly increased after hearing him talk to Conan.

I have so much more respect and appreciation for Arnold from these clips of the interview. He is quite an impressive person.

His charisma is off the charts.

I remember when he got elected. I thought it was a joke and he was gonna suck. But he was one of the best California govs, if not the best, I can remeber.

I like it that he is ok to admit he doesn't know something, and that it's a good thing to learn

Arnold is basically an optimistic pragmatist. His perspective and appreciate of this country is important for native born Americans to hear. And he is a funny guy. Would love to sit down to a Wienerschnitzel dinner with him

I'll cop to having goofed on "The Governator" before because it's just a funny concept, but from this I'm genuinely struck by how seriously he took the job and his real concern for doing what was best rather than what was politically opportune. As far as ways a celebrity going into politics could turn out, I'd say that's a best-case scenario.

Arnold know how to unite people instead of dividing.

Brilliant segment - Conan getting serious for a bit and getting Arnold to share insights about running a State and almost dying, then setting him up for a punchline.

That is EXACTLY what I talk about, and no around me gets it! Doesn't matter if you're Republican or Democrat, we ALL need to work together to make all of our lives BETTER!!! That's what we elect people to do!! Not to facilitate their own personal interests...which is what they all end up doing!!

I love how he talks about how he had to learn, talks about how he loved it, then he starts teaching it to them. It's crazy.

My father went through open-heart surgery. He had a valve replaced but also needed a bypass, so doctors did not suggest a closed operation. Hearing the process that Arnold had to go through, you understand that everyone, regardless of their status, has basically the same experience when it comes to serious operations. Humankind is still in its infancy in medicine or so I hope.

I was in elementary school when he was in office, and we had a tour of the state capitol as a part of our Sacramento field trip. Arnold wasn't part of the tour schedule, but he came out during his free time to talk to us kids about education and such for like 5 minutes when we got to his office.

He is a good man at his core, that is why his party affiliation didn't matter. It also helped that he actually didn't need any more fame or money

I wish Arnold could run for president. He's exactly what we need... Someone who understands the BS from extremists and understands how dangerous the path is that we're currently on from his upbringing and real education about Germany's dark past. He's very well aware of the consequences of where we're potentially going. We really need him..

Whoever told Arnold that heart surgery was routine was lying. My father also had a valve replaced and he opted for a metal one instead of a pig valve like Arnold did because he didn't want to go back ever 10 to 20 years to have a new one put in as his doctor told him you could die every time they do it and not just that but your chance of dying during it increases each time you have it done.

I remember when he was in, the popular thing to say was "my governor can kick your governor's ass"

I never knew what Arnold actually went through as a governor. Sounds like a dream job and nightmare job at the same time. He seems like a person who would like to give all the resources to everybody, so it must be really tough to say no and limit the help. But it's great to hear there has been will to find solutions and agreements and help people other than just picking and choosing who gets funding. Reducing emissions too, such a difficult thing to get through - to motivate people and companies. I really like the idea of having a will to do good and admitting that you don't know the best how to do it, but you can motivate all the people who can work together to pull it off the way it should, you can bring people together and stop arguments in favour of finding solutions people can agree with together. That is such an important role to be able to pull off. The way he puts it is also so beautiful. You don't really want to be the leader that divides people, who picks sides. You want to be the one uniting and driving it forward together, trying to improve everyone's lives a bit. You can't win in everything and you can't have a utopia come true, you can mostly just have small wins and like in sports and skills be better every day. I also feel like Arnold in a way was the leader America needed. All I've been hearing is fights between people who think differently from each other, leaders or not just quarreling. Having someone who's not clearly taking sides and who people know as a wholesome and respectable character, in a way a hero of America, could be really useful to unite people. He has a different stamp on his forehead than a political side.

The U.S needs leaders and role models like Arnold in a high position in the politics. Is he perfect? No, but people on all sides still love him despite knowing his flaws for a reason, and he knows politics.

Politicians should take note. It shouldn’t be about power. It’s about being of service and taking seriously the trust and responsibility the public places with you. If they all followed this example how different this country would be.

I strongly suspect Arnold can run for president. The phrase "natural born citizen" in the constitution has never been fully litigated. It might seem obvious to a layperson that it doesn't apply to Arnold. But it's legally ambiguous and recently its interpretation has only expanded to cover larger groups of people. A legal argument could be made that since Austria was under Allied rule at the time of Arnold Schwarzenegger's birth, that it was -- at least in part -- a United States territory at the time. Individuals born in US territories are citizens, and Arnold only solidified his claim to this natural born citizenship by becoming a naturalized US citizen immediately after emigrating from Austria. Update: It's worth adding that a case which could affect the hypothetical situation above has been brought forward to the US Supreme Court as recently as a year ago. But they declined to hear it. The case in question was with respect to American Samoans not getting automatic citizenship: JOHN FITISEMANU, PALE TULI, ROSAVITA TULI, AND SOUTHERN UTAH PACIFIC ISLANDER COALITION vs UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ET AL..

When Governor Swarzenegger started in public policy, i'd never expected him to be as prudent & pragmatic with a display of tangible integrity than most every other politician we see regularly today... All with a disposition of service. Dig.

10:07. Pneumonia is a big killer of elderly people. I finally got my pneumonia shot at age 68 and I should have done it sooner. It's a lifetime shot so you only get it once and you can get it in your doctor's office the next time you go for your yearly check up.
