It simulates the flat bench barbell pullover, with the difference that you have the same resistance during all the range of motion and you don't involve your chest because of the position of your body. So it is a isolation exercise for lats and one of the best exercises for the serratus. Today it's replaced by more advanced pullover machines which allow you to perform the single arm indipendently.

@rawjokes dude, the steroids Arnold used were as effective as the steroids bodybuilders use today. Only reason that bodybuidlers today are bigger is because they have new steroids like trenbolone, they also use things like Human Growth Hormone, and Insulin.

The only thing that changed is they may have come out with new substances such as tren, hgh, etc. But, like I've stated a million times Dbol that arnold used is like the Dbol you get today, Primo that arnold used is like the Primo you get today. @rawjokes will you please google Arnold Swarzenegger Cycle. All the steroids I mentioned in my last comment are the steroids he would use. And yes they were the same potency as the ones today. Look I'm a huge Arnold fan, but in his first book he even mentions that he started using Dbol at 19, which is like the Dbol today. As he progressed he started using different steroids like Primo and Deca, which are the same potency as Primo and Deca today!!
@rawjokes Idk if your trying to defend Arnold and say he didn't use steroids or where your point of view lies, but Arnold did use steroids through most of his bodybuilding career. But like I said it was legal back then, and it wasn't looked down on by the masses.
