New signal on the far left (non-functional): 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, and a Siemens gate mechanism.
Old signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs.
New signal on the near left (non-functional): 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs and a Siemens gate mechanism.
New signal on the far right (non-functional): 1 pair of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series(?) LEDs and a Siemens gate mechanism.
Old signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs and a WCH mechanical bell.
After I filmed M520, I hopped on I-65 and made my way down to Cullman, hoping to beat M521 down here. Unfortunately, it seems M521 was already long-gone by the time I made it down here, so I just set-up and waited. After about two and a half hours of waiting, during which I snagged some supper at a nearby restaurant, and only just about 10 minutes after sunset, I was able to get my fifth train of the day: CSX X151 with an ET44AH leading an ES44AH on the head-end with an SD70MAC working as the mid-train DPU.
Surprisingly, the old gateless signals are still in use at this crossing. It seems there was some kind of delay in getting the remaining signal installed and the new relay case cut-over, but, as the new signal and all four gate arms are laying on-site already, I suspect CSX will be getting this crossing upgraded before too much longer. Either way, I don't mind getting (at least) one more video of the WCH mechanical bell here before the inevitable happens.
