Hello y'all! I'm freebrickproductions, an aromantic & asexual railfan, traffic signal collector, and siren enthusiast from Huntsville, AL, you can also call me David if you want too. The pronouns I use are they/them.
I'm also an administrator at Mike's Railroad Crossing Website, so feel free to ask me any questions about the site by leaving a comment or sending me a message on the forum or Facebook. If you want to submit pictures, please put them in a Google Drive folder or a .zip file, and attach it to the e-mail before sending it. My e-mail can be found down below.
If you're interested in railroad crossings, I'd recommend joining the forums on Mike's Railroad Crossing Website. We're looking for new members there, and we do have a pretty friendly user-base, but it's recommended that you use proper grammar when posting, as it makes your posts easier to read and understand.
Thanks! UP uses them as standard for new installs, and KCS used a good few for a while it appears. The PanAm also used to use them, and they've cropped-up on other shortlines/regionals as well, such as the ATN and HMCR near me.
The tops of the rails will be rusted, the rails will be overgrown, the rails will be disconnected from any of the other lines (like a spur having its switch removed or something being placed on the tracks to prevent trains from going past a certain point), and/or the rails will be paved over/removed at crossings.
