Aroma AMX-5 Cabinet DI Box 

Can i plug this in directly into the 3.5mm mic input of my windows laptop? DI XLR out > adapter > 3.5mm. skipping the mixer. Would that work? If it does, what differences should i expect?

@@mylesdlm I havent tried that one yet but i think it will work. and you will need an splitter if your microphone and headphones are in the same input jack.

@@wilfredmedel3209 yes, i would definitely need a splitter for that. I also have this super cheap 7.1 channel usb sound card, i could also try it that way. I'm just torn between getting an actual usb audio interface or getting this DI pedal which is obviously the cheaper option. I just want some decent or at least usable recordings. High quality is not a goal for now since budget is limited and i'm still learning stuff as well.

Sorry i accidentally deleted my reply to you 😂 But this is my Chain. Guitar > Black Rat Pedal> Aroma AMX-5 Cabinet DI Sim> Usb Audio Interface> Android Phone. I used my default camera app for recording the video. No post Processing. BTW. I dont own a Preamp or Amp Sim pedal. 😁😁😁

i dont know exactly but it concerns about the noise that is produced by non isolated power source. i suggest that you buy a isolated pedal power supply for your pedals to reduce the noise.

I'm not sure , but i think it's active via XLR output :)
