A presentation about the days of Ash, and the intrigue of the 'Celtic Mercury' thought to be Lugh, Lugus. Also contemplating the 'Tri De Dana' as a triple aspect 'Mercury' - Lugh, Ogma, Dagda.
I just found your channel. The name alone compelled me to subscribe. Only this video in and I am hooked. No, make that; I am the salmon jumping into infinity. I am looking forward to binge watching and learning from all of you beautiful beings. Thank you💛
This was a very thought provoking video. I also thought of Hermes Trismegistus, who is a later combination diety of Thoth, the Egyptian god of Wisdom and the changing moon, and Hermes/Mercury. In Ptolemaic times, many Egyptian dieties became combined with Greek ones. With regards to the zodiacal treasure you showed us, his feet connect to the earth, and his head to the sky, and his body is a bridge joining both realms.
I am a very recent subscriber and I don't know when I've resonated with and enjoyed a channel so much. Absolutely stellar work and you make it so very interesting. In fact, I just now ordered your most recent book from Amazon. I''m lucky that I live in an area (central Ky.) that still has groves of very old trees. An earth-shaking, life altering decision: whether to work my way through your videos by year or to follow one tree at a time through all three years. After some experimentation, I'm following a tree at a time. And finally, in a mythology book, I came across an Aztec year wheel. The description said they had two - one 365 day wheel for agriculture, and one of 260 days divided into TWENTY equal periods for 20 deities. You can't make this up!
Really nicely prepared presentation. Seems obvious there is a good knowledge base behind its astrotheology. Have subscribed and looking forward to exploring what seems to be astrotheological mythology applied primarily into prehistory Ireland. Fantastic🏹⚖
Mercury is the fastest guy in the sky. Like the king's best rider/messenger, getting an urgent message across (pan) vast distances, quickly! "He RUNS with the Sun"
Brilliant Yuri! You must have a lot of Mercury in your birth chart to be able to hold all this information in your mind. My last name is Lummiss. Apparently it is a very old last name that was originally listed in the Book of Armageddon by. Online sources say it is a Saxon name from lum- haus or dwelling in low laying water, with the family being from Norfolk area which was quite swamp at one time. But since learning about Lammas and Lugh I am starting to think the name might have Gaelic roots since it does sound similar. Is there any evidence of Lugh being worshipped in Pre-roman Britain? Or did they also call their wheat festival Lammas? Apparently, the Iceni tribe are from that area, who are famous for Queen Boudica.
I understand Lammas as being Anglo-Saxon for 'loaf-mass' and often celebrated around the time of Lughnasadh. Rightly or wrongly. One festival is Saxon, the other is Gaelic. The Britons were Romanised from the 1st century onward. Places like Carlisle were named after Lugh (Luguvallium was its Latin name) - but mainly Lugus seems to have just been represented by Mercury, as Sulis in Bath became Minerva.
Hi Yuri, I'm really enjoying this series. Do any of the other of the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann correlate to the trees of the Ogham? Richard
It's only a theory, but certainly, the sword fits with summer solstice (Apple tree), and the Cauldron with Elder (autumn equinox), which leaves the stone for the Yew tree and the winter solstice.
@@theoghamgrove7169 Very interesting thankyou! I'll look into this. As regards the zodiac, am I right in believing this form of it is ~2500 years old at most? created by the priests at Sais during the Ptolemaic period?
@biggernumber1 The zodiac evolves through the ages, but many of the zodiac constellations can be traced back at least 5000 years to Mesopotamia - is that what you mean?
Thank you Yuri. That was really informative for some work I'm doing just now. I was only going to touch on trees and star signs but I'll need to look into this area more deeply now. Just as i thought i was finishing one area another branch extends itself and takes me deeper and further in. Much the same as what you said. My birthday sits on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini. And I had a life changing experience on the 21-23 December 2012. I take it as the death of one life and the beging of another, the oak king and holly king. And-or the death of Pisces and the beginnings and changing frequency of the new age of Aquarius. Great talk, and i also enjoyed what your guests had to say. 🦉♒️👣
