Arriving in Kuala Lumpur, buying SIM card, taking Bus from Airport to City Centre, Malaysia

Travelling between countries has become easier in recent times, with SIM cards and ATMs readily available at International Airports. In this video I arrive in KLIA Terminal 2 and navigate my way through the terminal to buy a Celcom SIM card and also bus ticket to KL Sentral, then Grab taxi to City Centre.

Good video. Only question is why do you care WHY someone is still wearing a mask. Just curious because you tend to ask that question quite often when it really shouldn't matter if they want to or not. Have to remember, Asian countries have been wearing masks off and on for years, way before covid. Now that being said, I looked at catching the bus to KL from the airport but settled on using Grab instead. It wasn't really expensive and I thought it would be a better way to view the scenery without being with a busload of people.

For me, it is irrelevant to ask as here it is optional as omicron cases are rising again. I know Westerners do not like wearing a mask as it is humid and hot in Malaysia.

People in a public facing situation should wear masks for their own safety. Covid aside there is flu and any number of airborne diseases that can arrive on plane load after plane load.

55 ringgit for a fast train ride from airport to kl is a better option. Because there is no traffic on a rail track if you are in a rush. 10 pounds only.

Taxis are more expensive as they use meters with a rate per km. Grab company will use another rate.

reached klia2 few days ago, 26th April tried to book a grab but non was available most probably due to the Eid festival. I am guessing grab cars will be limited till end of this week.

Not really. Depends on how busy they are. Took one lunchtime earlier in the week which was easy. But Sunday night during torrential rain they were busy and the prices doubled!

If you can find a way to have a cheap adventure, you should do so because KL provides this type of service. In the city center monorail and grab are the best because they are cheap and affordable

@Bigg World Cinema you can try it. People can say whatever they want to give confidence to a potential customer. The famous ones are maxis and celcom+digi. 3rd is u mobile. Yes I heard is more for a big city like kl.

If I have a nice $1000 phone with all my banking stuff on it would I fly to the Phillipines or where ever and just turn my phone off and keep it safe with my passport. Then buy a super cheap phone and a sim card? I would feel uncomfortable letting people at a phone store or even myself putting a random Sim card in my phone with all my banking apps and being a very expensive phone... thank you sorry for rambling.

When doing such things as banking online what kind of connection do you use? I was thinking how it seems more secure to use a sim vs a connection at a hotel. But I guess you can choose the reputable sim companies instead of at random

@Cee Jay well I would not do any banking there. I'm just worried about putting a forein Sim in my phone with all my banking stuff but also carrying around a $1,000 phone everywhere out there. Like the philippines is where I'm going. Thanks for your advice

Banking is normally practiced online nowadays so I’m guessing it’s mostly safe with all the security measures you need to go through. When we become susceptible to such things as phishing scams, and other various scam attempts is when you make yourself vulnerable, based on what I’ve read. Otherwise I think that the risk is the same whether you’re in your home country or abroad. It’s just that when you’re abroad you may lack the ability to understand the lay of the land and so can make mistakes because one didn’t know. But maybe there’s an added risk as you’re potentially a target as a foreigner in some way too.

That lady at the ticketing counter got onto my nerves..bad customers service…i wouldve yelled back at her..fyi from KL sentral to chowkit you just take the monorail ..it’ll stop at exactly the right right destination with cheaper cost than taking grab or taxi
