@@earlmoorhead5555 Good morning Earl - I had an email conversation with HH and they provided me this phone number to call (800-338-4639). I didn't have any issues getting trough and talking with them. No, I don't think we should have to pay for something that we should've gotten in the first place. I look at it like this - apparently, Arrma didn't realize that there was going to be an issue when they released the "first version". After receiving the feedback from owners they realized that they needed to strengthen some parts. I think the $25 probably covers the shipping costs and packaging and they are "eating" the cost of the parts. Hope that helps.

Jeffrey Hay I’ve called horizon hobbies a few times with no luck with what’s going on it’s hard to get someone to answer I will continue to try and find out what the cost is for the upgrades but me like others I didn’t hear of this revised Arrma Kraton in-till tru boyz got his and ppl said he got the older version so I looked around for a store that had a new one for sale! Island RC -Duke appreciate that I wanted ppl to see the difference and I really wanted to know myself check out rc Monster Garage video on this he said the steering servo was upgraded and called it version 2 unfair to list it like that being a shop selling them but I could be wrong ?

Great video earl. Like some people say they should send parts to people who had already bought it having them fill a pre product registration form. If they knew there product was going to possibly fail which they should known because them boys testing would have bent it straight away nearly. Its kind of upsetting because you buy in good faith hoping its going to be strong its not a cheap rig. I cant help that think when they do things like this its bit of a kick in the teeth to the customer. I really do like arrma and have loads of there rigs. Great work earl keep it up.👍

The old spektrum remote does have labels for the switches on top but they are on the right hand side of the remote at the top. I think i will eventually get those braces for my version 1, I think their a must have with a car this heavy. Disappointed that the servo wasn't part of the upgrade though. Thanks for the info. I didnt know they had released a newer version.

Dude this blows me away. Just last week I bought what you have on the left, (the newer version), but I ended up with the shitty radio (DX2 e). I checked everything as you were going through the video and I’m positive I've got the updated truck.... BTW- I go HELLA far and have no problem with range at all.
The labeling on the DX2E is on the side. I’ve not heard the servo was changed. For 25$ Horizon offers you the new center braced tower and short braces vs the original long running braces that went end to end. It also includes the metal chassis brace. The DX3E isn’t offered in that package but can be bought separate for 69$. So about 94$ to update to the newer version. Of course if your using an aftermarket chassis the metal brace isn’t your goal and if you have upgraded the radio to the DX5 or 6 series then all that is left is the center tower and shorter braces, which I believe is a superior setup though would probably still carbon fiber brace them.

Anytime and I always appreciate your videos. Several people have said they got one of the upgrade kits on the forums. When I reached out to Horizon they called it the Extreme Basher upgrade package said it was 25$ and to call them to order. A part number would be indeed be handy but they didn’t give me one. While I’m not interested in the metal brace or radio, as I already have an M2C and 5 and 6 series radios, I am interested in the new tower bracing system so I will likely pick it up.
As I mentioned in my above reply they didn’t give me a part number as I would like one too. That way I could just add it to basket with some other items but it appears they are only doing it by phone, as they told me to call them in the email. I’m sure you like me rolled your eyes at the naming of the package as it implies that people who bought the V1.5 are by default extreme bashers and the v1 guys likewise was not so extreme bashers chuckle. Would you care to do a range test on the two stock radios if you get a chance? With the bigger RCs I think range matters more because you can simply visually drive them a lot further. I’m planning to see how much better the DX6R performs range wise than the old stock DX2E. I also wondering if one of the latest released 5s might not have the best TX. As your most recent video points out with two identical part numbered servos, sometimes the facts are hidden away and objective testing is the way to know.

Great comparison Earl👍🏻 Maybe the better steering is a stronger arm. It doesn’t seem to me that my Servo is slow or weak. As much as it seems like the plastic arm in the old version flexing when turning. Just a thought because them being the same part number says that they are the same. As for buying the new one versus upgrading the old one. I think I am going to purchase the new one as well. I was looking at your comparison,,,,I looked on horizon and tower,,,,they show the different tx but there pictures don’t show the extra braces,,,,,not sure if yours was a dealer version that comes with it all,,,,kinda like the maxx did with their lights when it first came out,,,,,,,,I’m going to wait a little longer to see if they will confirm the brace change,,,,tried calling them. Couldn’t get a hold of them....

I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago and my friend bought one as well at the same time. I got a V2 he got a V1 we called and horizon took care of it and said it was a mistake. One other difference I noticed with my V2 is in my manual it says my center diff. Has 20 mil. Weight lube not the 1 mil. that everyone says thiers have and mine came with a 23t pinion not 17t like everyone else is saying.... 🤷🏾♂️
@@earlmoorhead5555 I think they did because I also noticed that my A arms are the EXB edition A arms Which are a lil beefier than stock. I think horizon is pay attention to what customers are saying and making changes. They replaced my buddies for free for but it was still brand new idk what they will do if you've had your car for a while. The kit to make it a v2 is $250 but now that I've found the pinion and A arms changed it will probably cost a bit more to make it what I have now. Horizon good job at fixing the problem now you have to take care of your customers that bought the v1 and charging them $250 plus isn't right.
I have the first version. Definitely i would ask from Horizon to make tyre improvements. In my experience DBoots suck and i had to change them only few bashes later . I installed proline badlands and had huge difference. I agree with the controller replacement feel so unlucky have to pay extra for an improvement should be there from the first version. Finally i would like a better more durable ESC. Mine failed only after 15 times , i still dont know why but waiting for my retailer to cover me up using the warranty. But when i run the car for 20 minutes using extra pair of batteries had overheat issues and perhaps that's where the failure came from. I have read many replace them installing MAMBA X for these reasons.

The more I see this rig the more I like it. My friend has the first one. After seeing it and your new one. I still think it would be best to buy a billet chassis and go from there with it. I am sorry, but it is my opinion that Arrma should, and could have done better. This revised version does nothing for me. At the bare minimum, they could have included a much better and more powerful steering servo. They tweaked a few things with the chassis braces, but it still does not solve the issue of chassis's vending on you. You literally have to go out and spend several hundred more dollars, to make the truck bash worthy. Starting with a new properly and well-made chassis, such as the M2C racing one, and many more upgrades to stiffen up that rig. I strongly believe Arrma dropped the ball on this truck. They had enough lead time to do proper research and development, but they chose to go the easy route, and make a Truggy? Most of the people I know were expecting a monster truck, NOT a Truggy. But if you are going to make a truggy that weighs 25 plus pounds, why not make a stronger chassis and include a much better radio and overall electronics? Even if you have to charge a little more. People would have still bought it. I am sorry Arrma, but until you impress me with whatever you are bringing out next, my money is leaning tours the X-max And you are correct Eal, they should have taken care of the customers who got stiffed on the Kraton 8S V1.

Its a beast for bashing don't get me wrong..very strong..but the minute you land it wrong (Nose Dive)..Or u hit the rock when u speed..lol..good luck..but you broke it and you fix it..anddd..we learn..
I haven’t installed one yet but on all my builds I use a ripple killer cap from Phillip jolly he’s the guy to ask and I wouldn’t run it without a cap and I’d never run an xlx2 on a basher unless it was a 1/5 th scale rc just my thoughts
Nice vid Earl. I dod. Or know arrma has a 1.5 or 2.0 kraton 8s. If I bought a 8s in the past month I will feel some kind of way about this. Especially at regular price. If I got it at a discount then I would not feel bad about the newer version.

UD RC I saw tru boyz unbox his on a live stream and he was told about the new version by deontay so I started calling and searching for the new version and rc Monster Garage put up a RU-vid video saying he had one check it out ...in his video he said the servos was upgraded I don’t believe so there a lot of miss information out there so I wanted to put it out there for everyone to see !! Good stuff Earl, I have a question about your paint work, do you paint inside the body, and clear coat the outside? Or is that just the gloss paint you use?
Jay Dee you paint the inside of an rc body the clear plastic gives it that glossy finish and this way if you scratch it on the outside the paint won’t rubb off you can also buff the body on the outside to remove the scratches 💯💯🔥🔥🔥there is special flexible paint that is used so it won’t flake off on the inside from the body hitting stuff rattlecan on lexan has a youtube channel showing this process 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Do have a Kraton 1/5 8s vers. 1 and did upgrade it with the , in my opinon , great M2C chassi set instead and do run the car with my FrSky FS NB 4 set as well , uses also the same FrSky set for my Infraction , and it works well . Center brace bar is reinforced by a carbon fiber I did buy online ( www.carbix.se/category.html/kolfiber-stanger/plattor . . www.carbix.se/product.html/kolfiberplattor ) . Did also upgrade my 8S with a new motor mount from M2C and added a Hobbywing Ezrun 800kv motor & matching ESC combo , still experimenting with the gear ration thou . Center "diff, oil" is replaced as well and did add some of extra minor mods too . But and I do want to add that rear chassis support brace from Arrma too and belted tires are on my wishlist . Car runs great in my opinion . . :O) .
If you have the M2C chassis then you absolutely don’t need the stock new rear chassis support. If you really have the M2C chassis you’d know it comes with multiple sized brace plates for the rear to stiffen up the amount of flex you prefer.
@@TheBigToe69 . .Yes . . I do have the M2C chassis plus those brace plates for extra support and I use the "heavy duty" variant , so I know this chassis kit does come with those extra brace plates . But in my opinion that extra support given by that Arrma rear chassis support brace would not hurt as an add on , and that part is not so expensive that it will clean out my bankaccount having me eating only pasta & ketchup until I get my next pay check from my job . . . ;O) .

One is 550$ 1/8 scale and the other is 1000$ 1/5 scale. 2 completely different types of trucks in reality. You could also get the 6s Kraton and completely modify it with M2C parts and other upgrades for a little less than a stock 8s Kraton, then you would have an almost bulletproof Rc capable of serious abuse.
On my new one it wont go into reverese or brake i change the transmitter and it yakes reverse and brakes bit i like the new factory transmitter tho i dont wanna change it do you know what might b the issue
Should I buy this Kraton 8S rtr instead of a Mojave EXB roller + spektrum 8S gear (I already have the Mojave V2 rtr). Both roughly the same price after batteries.

Motostyles have very bad attitude,won’t recommend it you can look all their reviews on google and you will be shock if you are on the area you can visit ehobby house it’s close to this place.
All these comments about people complaining over Horizon should be giving people the parts for free is a joke. If that’s the case then people with the V1 6s Kraton should get all the parts from the V4 for free as well. And when Arrma eventually releases the next 8s version with changes and upgrades they should give those parts out to previous version owners as well. That’s absurd and you all know it. Does it suck you have to spend a whopping 30$ to get the upgrades? Not really. Be thankful you have fixes available for it as quick as Arrma addressed them. Next time you should probably be patient and do a little research and watch a few RU-vid videos before you spend 1000$ on a V1 Rc. V1 Xmaxx had serious issues. V1 6s Kraton has issues. Almost every V1 Rc has issues. Complaining about it seems like spoiled brats complaining about getting a BMW for Christmas when they asked for a Mercedes. For fucks sake.
A new version is a new rc v4 is a different rc the Kraton 8s is not officially called a v1.5 or a 2.0 it’s just been changed without ppl knowing there’s not even a parts list on there site just new part numbers added so idk what you mean ??
