(They have to continue to pour in money somewhere for replacement parts).. after-all, "Over bullet proofing" something you are going to sell as an extreme basher, may just be bad for future business!_

Great video sir, well done! 🫡 However, I would be remiss if i didn't mention the one point you got wrong, which is the aluminum vs plastic diff housing itself... it does in fact matter, not because of the weight, but because of the ability to loctite screws into the aluminum housing. See, with the plastic housing the screws can back out over time, allowing play between your sun/spider gears. This will eventually cause them to strip resulting in a rebuild (when in fact, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the gears themselves). This has happened to me both on 6s and 8s Kratons... so to summarize, aluminum diff housings absolutely matter and are objectively better due to the fact that you can loctite screws. This will result in better longevity of the sun/spider gears and keep you running for far more hours between rebuilds. Anyway, love the content and happy bashing brother! 😎🤘

Thanks for adding this here in the comments section. All round aluminum diff housing are the way to go. I have seen a few people with that exact issue… sucks but the exb versions are certain the way to go.

If you buy from Jenny’s RC they sell the new aluminum diff housing with the whole diff and all the out drivers in the housing for $105. That’s a killer deal IMO, but I did just buy a set of Vitavon aluminum bulk heads and a set of knuckles from Perfect Pass this pass weekend. He had a 2 day sale on all his Vitavon products, it was 20% off your purchase.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Vitavon Racing parts. The biggest advantage is that the aluminum is always 7075, whereas most parts from the "big name" brands (Traxxas, Arrma, Losi, etc) are made from 6061. As for 'questions', any time I'm not certain about something related to Vitavon, I always email Arthur directly (plus, that way, I can also usually get whatever I'm ordering anodized a particular shade of blue that he knows I prefer).

@@KUDRARACING I can't say they do that for everyone...but, as much as some have purchased, they do. It's not a "special treatment" thing (ie. I'm not getting something that others can't get)...but, I'm sure it's also not something they'll do for everyone, for every order. Plus, is not something they'll do for everyone Vitavon makes.

@@KUDRARACING I am building now Fireteam by using parts from M2C, Vitavon, Scorched RC (titanium shafts, alu diff housing etc.) and Custom RC Upgrades, just the fun project with super puper parts. I've never heard about some problems with arrma 6s stock shafts, but there is a huge problem with them on arrma 8s rigs. You can bend them very easily, so wondering if the vitavon's shafts have better material than the stock one. Also interesting topic, which oil combintations you are using for diffs and shocks, based on your experience. Ahh and keep updating us about your custom parts, would be great to buy some of them. 👍👍

I was leaning towards an arms kraton, but there are countless videos of problems with parts. Aftermarket and oem. I think I’ll look at the traxxas sledge. At least when it breaks or time for an upgrade, you don’t have to deal with all this. Thanks for sharing

I almost bought the Traxxas sledge - Such a sick truck! Can't go wrong. How ever the Kraton is also a beast and relatively easy to work on. Either way you will have fun.

First I'd like to say I recently found this channel. And I am enjoying the content style. With that said.....I use RCAWD LSD diffs in combination with M2C diff cups. Then shim the diff and tune the fluids accordingly. 500k center, 60k front 30k rear. All 3 lsd diffs. That combination works in any of the housings. And is super durable. My bash style is like RC Dude, Duperbash and Aldo. Just saying there are other combos that are bit less confusing and just as reliable. Although I will say that arriving at the combo did take some trial and error. By the way our Kratons are almost identical. Except I installed a 6S Hobbywing combo and got rid of the tri support chassis bracing. And installed a CRCU tower to tower brace, their A,B,C and D blocks. And installed a Scorched titanium chassis. If I could post photos I would. I think you'd like it. Unfortunately weather has stopped me from putting this new build through its paces two weeks in a row.

What if you have vitavon diff housings only? Will it work with the exb internals?

Yes, the EXB internals will work in the Vitavon housing. It only gets a bit confusing when you’re upgrading your diff as well . Just make sure you get the correct 10 tooth gear (the one with the right notches I showed in the video). If you’re just getting the housings, it’s no problem.

It was the first thing I broke. Got it day one, 2 hours later, broke lol. Still a great RC car. I was going hard on it. Landing it very poorly. I’m New to RC’s.

Don't know if it's an EXB thing or not but I have the Vitavon bulkheads and the Arrma Aluminum diff housing in my Mojave and I've never had this issue but I can say when integrating multiple aftermarket parts sometimes a little dremel work maybe some drilling and polishing for proper fit may be required . Built my Mojave from the ground up attempting to use as few stock Arrma parts as possible. JBI, Vitavon, M2C, Scorched, CRCU , Afrolucha , TP , Promodeler, PPS and the list goes on .

I run the Hot Racing diff case and diff housings with zero problems. Maybe it isnt perfection, but its a good price alternative from plastic to the pricey vitavon. I am still drooling over the vitavon chassis tho.

I thought the diffs where different from exb & blx? I believe exb is 29mn blx 31mm. Out drives are also different. I have the exb diffs with the LSD plates & have less drama then blx diffs

Yeah, EXB comes with the 29mm but you can also run a 31mm. Just have to make sure the 10 tooth matches 👌

The M2C outdrives I have would not work on the EXB differential. They might make a version that does? The EXB outdrive shaft is thicker than the standard 6s ones. But the m2c ones are smaller but stronger from my experience.

I really hope a solution to the breaking diff cups can made. I've never had an RC break more diff cups then the Kraton. I'm tired of fixing the diffs.

I personally hate setting up diffs in RCs. When i do diff upgrades with my Losi products, i never even have to consider diff shims. Same with Traxxas and Axial. Arrmas seem to be the only ones that need shimming and diff oil adjustment.

Definitely the new outdrives not that different just make sure to get the m2c exb model outdrives if you have the exb

Yeah for sure - Just double check, the stock diff out drive thickness is 5mm and EXB diff version is 6mm. Which ever model you have choose accordingly. M2C are the best outdrives I have found yet 🚀

The reason this is so different to the stock is that is the vitavon rtr diff not the 29 mm one they make that would fit fine the center outdrives would work if you bought the 29mm diff from vitavon

I’m confused slightly. You’re talking about a vitavon 31mm standard diff compared to an arrma EXB diff. Should have compared arrma EXB diff to a Vitavon 29mm EXB diff. Gears from standard to EXB will always be different. You made a lot of good points. But confused me there.

I have been doing a lot of testing with diff combinations lately. So in this video I was really trying to point out the the difference of the outside diff gear and the 10 tooth. The splines are different as well as the spacings. Also, if you're upgrading the details are not very obvious on the website unless you have done this a ton. Im planning on doing a part 2 because there is still more info to make a bullet proof diff.

The 31mm will fit the BLX cars EXBs should have the stronger 29mm which also gives the option to run LSD plates the 31mm are much weaker with narrow gear teeth and thinner output shafts.

Agreed - I have moved my entire 6s line up to 29mm and all rear diffs have GP4 gears with aluminum case. I ditched the LS entirely… 6 of the 7 trucks have the aluminum housings as well 🚀

I am like you and struggling to obtain metrics of parts : i am on other models , but often try to buy parts of other car to try to fit in mine, and often i lack technical details, . Like you i had bad experience when ordered a part for a used car and received an upgraded part for the car v2 expanding the diameter of 4mm to 6mm, thus preventing any integration in my v1 car... Frustrating !!!!

I hear yah - very frustrating. Having built up available parts it has helped mitigate some of it but I still run in to issues. Maybe the only solution is to live next door to a hobby shop haha

Why not just put the exb diff in the vitavon housing? That would work fine plus you get the bigger diff

Because Vitavon sent the wrong 10tooth... They have different gears then exb and I had also ground down the 10 10 tooth I had. Just trying to get this back together with what I had lol

I’m grateful you tried to inform us, but I sincerely couldn’t follow what you were attempting to tell us. I rebuild my diff all the time so I know these parts well. I think you need to take moment and think about what you want us to get from your experience because I have little clue. “This part here doesn’t work with this part here” isn’t good content. I would not recommend ordering Vitavon especially on eBay .If the post office sticks your package wrong mailbox you never received it Vitavon and eBay will NOT replace or refund your money back .
