I found that a brushless system from an MJX car actually works kind of perfectly in the typhon grom. You'd have to get a 3mm sized mod 0.5 pinion, but otherwise, it's kind of a perfect system in the grom.
Mini Losi won’t go through grass or off-road much, for hard pact ground.. but does go fast brushless on pavement speed runs. Small arrma good for grass soft loose ground
I wish the grom reciver worked with the radiomaster mt12 4in1. I'll probably get one eventually as I like the granite grom. Not sure how far I'll upgrade them yet. Metal diffs is a must though.
Was looking at a grom but for the price the Gorgon is much better. Why bother with the grom, unless there’s some small scale racing in your area anyway
@lyricofwise6894 The 14B is incredible, just be warned that its motor overheats badly if you race it in a hot region. Not hard to shove a fan into, though. I think it's well worth the extra price on the Reflex if you have a spot to race them. For just bashing around, Grom seems plenty good to me.
Awesome job. I overlooked the fact that you need a motor mount. I did find an adjustable motor mount that also acts as a heat sink. I paid $10 for the M0.5 pinion and $10 for the motor mount. I think the stock motor has an odd size shaft. At 2.3 mm .... The little guy sure is easy to control around turns but just need more power for big jumps. 👍
Im willing to spend anything to make this a little track monster, something about small cars ripping that’s satisfying 😂 I just need some offroad tires/wheels in the market, my outdoor track does not like these stock tires 😭
@@JayTeeRC Ill definitely keep you updated, Im stock aswell except a team brood 25mm ventus s fan for the motor since my stock fan burnt out on one of my groms, it fits into the stock bracket with no mods just need to solder the connectors from the stock fan, I live in vegas so its about 90+ during the day, and compared to my completely stock typhon grom the fan makes a BIG difference the team brood fan pushes way more air, it keeps it significantly cooler when racing around outdoors
