@@MackerelSharkeven after mortality, naysayers. Conjuring attention only feeds their dismay. Karma, will never enchant them to success. God bless, Arrogate, Amen.
RIP Arrogate, gone much too soon. I was fortunate enough to have been in attendance at Saratoga for this legendary performance. The crowd was stunned silent by the way the race unfolded; I don't think anyone in NY really knew much about Arrogate then, having been a west coast horse that had never even competed in a Stakes race before this, nevermind graded company...and he blew away the field in record time. Absolutely stunning.
I did I singled Arrogate I was all over Arrogate Big Baffert fan I couldn’t believe he was 11-1 Baffert is the Greatest pace of the race is the key to any race Speed rules Bullet Bob
Arrogate foi o único cavalo que me fez lembrar do lendário Secretariat em Kentucky Derby. iniciando em último lugar para chegar em primeiro. O tempo foi de 1:59:40!! Record.. Arrogate 1: 59,36 !! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SB5eTuV5Hq0.html
I was as impressed as anyone with California Chrome's performance in the Pacific Classic, and by some of Frosted's performances this season, but this colt has got a lethal turn of foot and looks scary good. He set fractions in the Travers that had half the field looking like they needed oxygen by the time the field went past the 3/4 pole, and after setting hair raising fractions, he opened up on the Travers field at his own leisure like it was nothing. Mike Smith was simply luggage for Arrogate in the Travers. Imagine the problems Arrogate could potentially cause the older horses in the Classic if he ran back to anything near this good again to go along with the weight for age break he'll get at Santa Anita. Just sayin.......it's something to consider!
@@TR-vr5pz I’ve seen the replay of the race many times and yes Secretariat’s Belmont win is special but I wasn’t alive back then. I did watch this race live and without a doubt nothing before 2004 or after this race has come close to this.
maybe so... but in the entire history of the Travers... nobody has ever run it faster...... when every horse starts out.. you could say they also came out of nowhere. Arrogate has proven himself.
And being Arcangelo’s daddy, I had a hefty pay day at Belmont. Rest in peace Arrogate you are a legend on the track and possibly also already as a Sire.
I'm so conflicted about Arrogate. During his winning streak of 4 G1s, I came to think he was the only dirt horse I had seen -- along with Spectacular Bid -- who "might" be as good as Secretariat. And Arrogate remains among my top 10 ten favorite racehorses -- the ones I've rooted for the hardest -- which is a different thing than ranking him being amont the greatest. But then he finished up a short career with 3 straight losses, 2 of them embarrassing performances. Psychological burnout? Did he just despise Del Mar? Even before the questions came up about Baffert, I was ambivalent about Arrogate making the Hall of Fame based on performance in four races. And even before the questions came up about Baffert, I was opposed to Justify, with a 6-race "career," no wins against older horses, and (so far as I can remember) no wins against horses as good as Chrome or Gun Runner, going into the Hall of Fame. The best horse I can remember Justify beating was Shaman Ghost. I've long thought too much emphasis is put on the Triple Crown. As things stand now, I don't think either Arrogate or Justify deserves the Hall of Fame. Prediction: Arrogate won't make it. Justify will. I will be disgusted the day Justify does. But if Arrogate does make it, I'll be ambivalently gratified.
@marysueeasteregg Arrogate was never the same after Dubai. Apparently he lost 90 lbs after Dubai and his grooms said he wasn't the same horse after. Bob Baffert said himself (love him or hate him he has alot of experience around racehorses) said that after Dubai he didn't want to run anymore. But Baffert himself said that Arrogate was the most talented horse he ever trained, but that he simply lost interest in racing after Dubai. I heard someone else say he hit his head on the gate in Dubai and was a nervous wreck after. I don't know if that is true or not, but the fact remains Arrogate was not the same horse after Dubai for some reason. However, his level of talent for his 4 famous races is almost unprecedented.
Feel bad for Arrogate...His Trainer had him DOPED UP out of his Mind...This why so many Top Horses trained by Baffert hit a Sudden BRICK WALL out of nowhere and can not perform the same way anymore...At least racing FINALLY is trying to do something about this DISGUSTING Trainer
Well stated, its a shame what happened to this horse. The dope plus the eacort provided by the jockey on Baffert's other entry American Freedom made Arrogate win look far better then it actually was
@@mikewarren1401 Juiced up horse that the public were conned into supporting. Forego was the real horse of 1973. Raced into his 7th year and broke records and carried all kinds of damning weight.
Top 3 races in my 28 year lifetime Arrogate Travers 1. Calidoscopio Brooklyn 2. Rich Strike kentucky derby 3 This was a powerhouse performance never saw one like it. Other 2 races were miracle crazy wild wins lol.
Arrogate horse number one in the world what the hell do look at the distance between him and the second place! It is in a world of illusion in another world
arrogate is a super nice horse. Chrome and frosted better put their big boy pants on. Chrome is a class act and I think he will win he's so good right now but wow arrogate should give him a run. I'm not on the frosted band wagon at all I could care less about him. alittle overrated
ON paper, a 4 or 5 year old like Chrome should easily beat a young, still growing 3 year old... but that didn't happen.... Arrogate is by far the better horse than Chrome.... Chrome tried twice to win the classic.. and couldn't get it done..... and don't forge the Pegasus....
Wow! Didn't see that coming! In terms of the way he destroyed the field and setting the track record! Will be a major threat in the Breeders Cup Classic!
+paul patane Lol. I believe u are right about that with Songbird! Or maybe Arrogate? Btw, let me know when these donkeys get to the 16th pole! Wow. Alot of no show performances today in this race
Baffert had this one primed and ready for sure....the man is an excellent horseman and Arrogate crushed at 11-1 overlooked with a new track record !!!!!
rip handsome arrogate. you left this earth way too soon. i am so sorry . i know you were watching from horse heaven as your amazing son arcangelo won the same race a couple of weeks ago here in 2023.
Bob's three year old boys, in particular, are the best around for my money. From Silver Charm to Arrogate with a couple of all-time greats in between like Pharoah and Point Given. Dortmund had a heck of a three year old season, losing only to Pharoah. Another staple of Bob's stable is that his boys are typically big and muscular. Todd Pletcher usually goes home with the Eclipse Award but there's no one better than Bob.
@@waremblem3405 Time proved paul patane right ultimately. BCC and Pegasus World Cup winner, Horse of the Year, almost 16 million dollars in earnings. He'll make the Hall of Fame. And he's got off to a terrific start as a sire, though that's a separate issue from his quality as a racehorse.
Still can't believe that Gun Runner could not get 2nd ! Cost me a bunch of money for the exacta. Gun Runner that year gave me fits ! I had flashbacks to another frustrating horse who never really got the money when it counted. Gate Dancer 😁
Got going with a long-timer handicapper at Saratoga this summer, around August 4th. He said, "Especially with Baffert. That 's.o.b.. [he said it, I didn't!], if he's got two horses in the same race, dang [euphemism] if the longer-odds of the two doesn't always win!" I took his advice in this race. Whomever you are, my friend, thank you for the rarest gift bestowed at racetracks: advice that pans out.
Breaking News! Exaggerated just reached the 1/4 pole. Lol (yes I am being sarcastic. Now 2-10 on a fast track.) and I believe CREATOR is mounting a bid even though the race is over.

Im glad I wasnt losing my mind. GOV Malibu went off at 7-1. The morning line of 12-1 made no sense. horse ran a traffic filled Belmont and 2nd place finish in Dandy and was 12-1. uhhh. He ran okay today, made a move on turn. i think Clement will put him on the turf.
didn't frosted broke the record at Saratoga and a couple other broke records that day too, I'm not surprise if it's the track, frosted came back and lost, against a grade 3 runner up, just another horse that won't hit the board on BCC DAY
