Nice to take them in the mountains to ski.A great option to bug out when the time comes.I like the water option too.Safer then a plane.Even during a e m p situation you just glide down.
@@Tinker1950 thanks for the reply. I do wonder what stopped them in the end. I read something saying that they only sold 40 units so maybe that was it? I wonder if the plans could be bought and made by another company?
That very thought went through my mind. They produced what was probably the best and well equipped gyrocopter in the world. They also produced some excellent promotional videos, but I suspect it all came down to price. Inevitably they were expensive and whereas a light aircraft can have great practicality, gyrocopters are still effectively toys for the well off. For the price of an Arrowcopter you could instead buy a very nice and much more functional GA aircraft. But always nagging at the back of my mind is the thought that perhaps someone could buy the company assets and ex-employees, thus avoiding all the liabilities and depts of the original company, get into promotion and production and sell at a much more competitive price. If only I had a spare million...
@@Tinker1950 exactly what i thought as well. Yeah your completely right about the cost verse a more practicle light aircraft. I think that if a company thats already established in the gyro scene or perhaps makes other types of light aircraft were to take it on they could offset the low sales for a while whilst it picks up. Not going to lie, the arrow copter makes me want to get my ppl(a) in the uk. They look fun and more professional than the 'bob in the shed' type of kits.
sorry if I sound too rude, buut why do these cost so much? how do they cost more than a car, in the end its just an engine and two chairs, with a metal frame contained by a fiberglass body.
