Thanks Brother! I did 7 years, 4 active and 3 in the guard. First time, I was 29E radio repair. Spent my whole permanent party in Germany. 16 years later, had to sign for this war also. Was a 15F Blackhawk/Chinook electrician, but was full time National Guard. Was on the Honor Guard for 3 years here in the Ohio Valley doing services for Vets. A lot of WW2 and Vietnam Veterans. Probably Presented 400 folded flags. I actually have a star on my National Defense ribbon for serving during 2 conflicts but was never deployed to combat.

You need to use 1/4" mesh I dig in my yard and it's yellow clay and it has to be just the right moisture to push through screen. I used to use 1/2" until I walked by one of my piles of dirt after a rain and found a complete 1x 1/2 projectile point and a broken drill tip.
@cleggsadventures
@cleggsadventures 2 года назад
I was using the 1/4 but the mud I was sifting just took forever to go through. I know I may miss some really small stuff, but it’s a tradeoff I guess.

I have always hunted arrowheads in the fields, so seeing you sift for them on the shore is really cool, something I've never done. I'm curious though, are you hunting shore areas that are public land or are you getting permission to hunt only certain areas when you go out? Thanks and good hunting!
@cleggsadventures
@cleggsadventures 4 года назад
John Mizak Thank you very much. Some places are public but not many. Most folks don’t care when you’re staying near the water but I would always ask first. I wish I had some fields to walk. There are fields here but every time they’re plowed, people always bombard the owners trying to get permission and I think they get tired of it. Then they just tell everyone “no”. Happy hunting, hope you find a nice one.👍
@jzak5723
@jzak5723 4 года назад
@@cleggsadventures Thanks for the reply! I agree, you're always better off asking permission if you're not sure. I don't see why people would have a problem letting you hunt the shore down in your area, because from what I can see, its basically unusable property which collects all kinds of junk washing up on the shore continuously, besides all the junk people have dumped down the banks over the years. In my area of Michigan, it seems most farmers don't plow the soil deeply anymore before they plant, so it gets harder and harder to find stuff. Also, a field I used to hunt a few years back where they did plow, got "no trespassing" signs put up, because people were running four wheeler's all over the place after the farmer had planted, you certainly can't blame him for doing that. It was a shame for me, because it was a really good field for arrowheads, and I haven't found as good a place to hunt since then. Good Hunting!

It doesn’t have to be cedar. The reason I use it was, it’s lightweight and it doesn’t rot. I’d say pine would work, it’s also lightweight. As long as it’s out of the water to dry after each day. Light is the key though
