I love the new champions league format, I think it’s more exciting. Before when your team won you wouldn’t be too concerned about what happened with other teams in the group stage but now every game means something and the top teams can’t afford to slack off after winning 4 matches to qualify. I also feel too many Arsenal fans are panicking without putting context into it. The team is laden with injuries & is still there or there about in all competitions. Once our full strength team is available things will certainly improve
Hey Charles, These injuries are bad but Arsenal always play their best football when they are the underdog. The online hate against Arsenal seems to fuel them on. We always slip up in games where we think we should be the favourites. It’s the same as Arsenal playing their best football after a few fouls, they need some energy behind them to fuel them on. Also love how upset calafiori was after coming off, he’s so passionate about playing for Arsenal COYG
Since martin got injured i thought he has filled his shoes really well. Its just the last 2 games, against Bournemouth the red card messed the whole game up and against shaktar somehow he lost his shooting boot even though he is one of our most clinical finishers.
On Sterling, just look at when Havertz joined us, he was in the doldrums, his confidence was shot, but we transformed him. Same with Xhaka before that. Sterling is a great player, MA thinks he can do a Havertz/Xhaka, we need to give him time and get behind him when he plays as that will help make the transformation happen. I've not given up on Sterling or Jesus for that matter, they could be the one's on form later this year.
After playing a few seasons of the new ucl format in football manager 2024 I find that under the new format every game is important, since if you fall out of the top 8, you will have to play two more playoff games on top of the 8 games, and that put a lot of my players under heavy match loads
Hi Team. Why is the Arsenal fan base not giving Jesus the support we gave to Kai when he was struggling. Jesus made us believe again when he joined from Man City. He is our guy, let's support him.
Bc even the most casual fan knows Jesus is no longer at the level Arsenal require. And because we chose not to strengthen our attack we are now FORCED to sit and watch a player who can’t finish, can hardly stay healthy, and is careless with the ball be given the captains armband.
I know this will never happen, but I would play Jesus as the left back. I've seen him defend on the left, and it's impressive. Arteta would not do it, and Jesus would hate it.
Charles: check the comments in your last video, I told you then it was an MCL and I gave the prognosis too, I did for Ødegaard aswell. I do it with every injury, I'm always right and I do it to give my Gooner brothers the correct medical information.
If white is still fit, for me start white and gabriel at cb. They have paired up nicely before. Kiwior at lb not calafiori even if he is fit because of his pace and salah pace. Rb is a headache...
Rice has to take more of a leadership role right now, like he did at West Ham. I’m really not seeing it ow when it’s needed. He has the ability. Don’t know if he’s been told to focus on holding and defending, but expect him to step up his performance.

Charles, we are all mulling who should Arsenal play at left and centre back positions and we are thinking of the usual solutions like Kiwior or Lewis-Skelly. Why not try Merino at LB as he can invert into the midfield. Maldini Kaccurri can play RCB as he is a right footed CB. Gabriel at LCB and White at RB. Jorginho and Rice start in the middle of the park with Martinelli at LW and Nwaneri at RW (Remember Nwaneri played RW against Leicester and was brilliant for that short spell). Liverpool might not be even expecting that and it might be surprise for them to deal with. Trossard and Havertz upfront as rotating false 9s. I think we need to think out of the box and also take some simple decisions especially with Kaccurri.
The decision at defence has been taken out of our hands, I don't think it's any doubt that White plays at CB regardless, Partey and Kiwior/ Timber at full back
Sorry to state the obvious but Saka has missed only two matches through injury this season. The narrative that both he and Odegaard have been injured for most of the season isn't quite correct.
I think with Odegaard, it's that he's missed huge matches. Most notably City away. With Saka it just shows how good he is and how important he is to the way we play. They're our two best attacking players and we're playing without them.
Hi Charles, just wanted to highlight something about Trossard. Clinical in front of the goal, but had multiple inconsistent performances this season. Second yellow vs Man City. Back pass vs Bournemouth (which led to Saliba's red). Poor penalty vs Shakhtar (baffling why he didn't let Kai take it). Mistakes are part of the game but that's way too many, considering we are fighting for the title, and City & Liverpool are pretty flawless at the moment. For me, he needs to be dropped against Liverpool (if Saka is fit). I would rather play Jesus at 10 and Havertz at 9.
Sometimes you have to create your own luck. Arteta is very cautious. He is no Pep, but I think if Pep was in his situation, he would have been bold to throw in Nwaneri even at 17 years old. The kid, I believe, would have been better in there over the last three games than trying three defensive minded midfielders.

Was dissapointed with Trossard taking that Pen. If I were havertz i'd be FUMING at not being given the chance to beat the consecutive home game scoring record. SELFISH from Trossard and bad from the stand-in Captain (dare I say Jesus doesnt want to see Havertz doing well.....) Havertz has NEVER missed a competitive game Pen and theres arguments he should be taking Pens even if Saka were on the pitch..... Not sure Trossard i& Jesus are playing for the team...
I want to keep White on the right because he's our runner up the side, if Partey plays there we have to go down the left which opens the left up for Salah. We also then have White running through midfield and Partey unable to do what he does best in midfield. It's not our system and it's not ideal for these players. Rice is good when he gets back but most of the time I think he is winning the ball back by running in from behind the player with it, I don't think he's as good when facing players like Salah, he could be left in their dust if used as a CB. I want to keep the outfield progressive whilst also keeping as solid a defence as we can with the available players. I'd go with White, Timber, Gabriel, Kiwior, with White being the only one to go on runs, the rest stay back and lock up shop.
Really enjoyed that measured chat. Well done. Having said that, I do not believe we played particularly well all season, not just since Saka’s been out. It is time we had a confidence boost for players and fans.
The way Calafiori twisted his leg looks like the MDL was put under stress. The good thing is that the MDL is quite thick and doesn’t tear as easily as other ligaments. He might even play on Sunday ;)
Lewis skely on for me as he is young and full of energy mo salh is much older lwis skelly would nulify saleh my issue would be who covers saliba its obvious Gabriel so the back four white Gabriel kiwor lewis if timber is available I would go with white Gabriel timber and Lewis We only have what we have we need goals score more than conceeding to win we know we are short in defense so really we need to be very strong and leathel in attack how do we score more goals thats my concern
Why not just 3 at the back - with a 5-2-1-2. Move Rice to CB and play Miles or Zinny at LB? We will be outnumbered in the midfield but at the very least Miles and Zinny can have some support from Jakub and Jakub plays so much better in a back 3. Needs must? Agree Thomas needs to be in midfield.
Keep playing him where? Do you watch Arsenal's matches at all? Jesus is a bench warmer this season. If Saka isn't injured, he wouldn't start vs Shakhtar Donetsk and won't be consideration to start vs Liverpool!
Should have brought in a striker over the summer. Or better Saka back-up than Sterling. Jesus is washed. Can’t finish and just gives the ball away EVERY TIME he touches the ball. The players aren’t reading the comments on RU-vid videos. Don’t try to convince me that Jesus will magically regain form. He has shown no sign of that in 2024.
