What a game for Karl Hein, stepping up in the face of our first team keepers away on holiday. A fairly strong Bournemouth team and very high press he stayed pretty collected. Extremely unfortunate to concede that whack goal. All in all for the first preseason game there were great moments and some not so great. Highlights besides Karl were, Nwaneri, Timber, Odegaard😍 and Vieira. My only complaint was to not see a single second of ESR, I feel like it’s the right time for him to go even though he’s Arsenal through and through, but to not even get a minute in what could be his last game in the squad is upsetting.
Hello Charles, stayed up to watch the game this morning 5:30 am Kenyan time, and it was a good game overall. One player who stood out for me is Ayden Heaven,a good performance by a 17 y/o.Good defensively and even better on the ball, looking forward to seeing more of him in this tour.Honourable mentions to Reis and Nwaneri too.
Arsenal vs Bournemouth - Nelson a stand out performer in the first half, Timber looking sharp not sure about Odegaard’s little goatee though 😂 Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand looked really good. Rekik was the reason we let in a goal. Despite his silly goatee, Odegaard looked like he was playing in an exhibition match, so skillful and looked really fit.
Hey Charles, I thought the boys played really well today. Karl Hein was well deserved MOTM, he looked really sharp, great reflexes. Timber is going to be so good, his aggression and ball carrying ability is really impressive Odegaard just does what Odegaard does, silky and skillful, he's beginning to consistently do all the moves that Mesut Ozil used to do, he just links everything together so well. The youngsters had a great game also. I'm really looking forward to the new season. Cheers :) - Femi
Hi Charles, this comment is regarding the friendly against Bournemouth. The fact that Myles Lewis Skelly and Nwanari stayed on for 60 and 85 mins respectively, reassured the youngsters and the fans that they will play a big role for this season. I’ve also made peace that ESR will be leaving the club imminently…
@@Qlicky So because a player has decided to leave Arsenal, it can only be because of money ? He couldve thought the plan laid out to him by another club suited him better, he couldve believed in the project of another club
@@Ty01386 He could have. He could have went somewhere else because he doesn't like the weather too... Getting a better deal/money somewhere else is a lot more likely though.
Nik from India. Love your content Charles! I would love to see Ben White or Timber in the 6 role, White has played there before and Timber has the skill set to play that role as well. This way we can accommodate both of them in the team and focus on getting Moreno as a backup for the left 8 role. What are your thoughts?
Hi Charles, Nwaneri looks ready for the first team. He combines comfortably with the seniors and looks press resistant. I think he should start alongside Odegaard aginst United. If ESR leaves, would Nwaneri get the same amount of minutes as ESR would have?
Hi Charles! Now that the big Fab Romano has given the deal his famous Here We Go, we can finally be excited that Ricardo Calafiori will be an Arsenal player! I imagine this will be a slice of humble pie you’ll be more than happy to eat, following your feelings that the transfer wouldn’t happen early on! 😂 Keep up the great work!
Hi Charles, happy to see you managed to stay up for the game tonight! I know it’s only the first game of pre-season and a lot of the youngsters are only on the tour because a lot of the senior players are on holiday after Copa and the Euros, so we shouldn’t overreact, but we’re Arsenal fans, so of course we do, and here’s my overreaction questions. - Karl Hein was immense tonight, any chance you see a reversal here with him wanting a loan move, where he gets promoted to #2 and stays once Ramsdale inevitably leaves? - Nwaneri looks better and better each time I see him. With ESR leaving unfortunately, do you see Nwaneri filling his spot? If so, I think Arteta trusts him more so he’d probably see a lot more mins than ESR saw last season. - Salah for me was a nice surprise. Got into some great positions and has one hell of a shot on him. What do you predict for him this season? Surely a loan deal to have him prove himself? - Is it just me or did even most of the senior players look sharper and more fit than we’ve ever seen them. Ø looked in mid-season form with that little flick back in the second half, Jesus and Zinny were very lively when they came on, and everyone just looked really up for it, even though it was the first pre-season game. Thoughts on how Arteta’s approach this summer with the pre-pre-season trainings will set us up for more success, especially with a slightly difficult initial run-in? - Eddie and Reiss looked good, but they always do in pre-season, hoping they get good moves this summer so they can really kick on in their careers. Just don’t see them getting much of a look in anymore. - What do you see happening with Timber once Calafiori joins up with the team? Will they compete for a starting spot? Or will Arteta finally make good on his rotational talk for once? - Any world where you see Arteta using Zinny more as an 8 if he stays with more versatile and better defensive options available now at LB? This has to be our year #COYG
Hey Charles. If we sell ESR, Nelson, Ramsdale and Eddie then that's 4 of our English players gone, so surely we would need to sign atleast 1 or 2. Personally I would love Morgan Gibbs White I think he would be absolutely perfect for the left 8.. and then we will probably sign an English back up keeper too lol
Hi Charles! Before I watch your latest video, do you know why Arsenal are not screening their match tonight against Bournemouth? Looking like I’ll have to sign up to Bournemouth’s website and purchase their screening when would rather give my money to Arsenal as every little helps to sign Nico Williams
Ramsdale,Hein(loan),Nelson,Nketiah,Smith-Rowe all possibly outgoings leaves Saka,Rice, Saliba, Martinelli,White,Raya as current HG players leaves 2 spots open. Assuming Bentley coming, are we looking at another English player incoming ?
Leno, Iwobi, Willian & now possibily Emile Smith-Rowe..... would of much preferred a loan deal with a higher fee, but here's to hoping the talk is just talk for our not so fortunate mercurial talent. Who knows Vieira might upgrade his game.
Hi Charles, stayed up all night to watch the game against Bournemouth but wish I hadn’t. It was nothing to write home about. Notwithstading, I thought Reiss, Vieira, and Timber looked really sharp. Nwaneri also had decent spells - he’ll definitely get more minutes this season. Conversely, on a pitch with a lot of kids, Partey was comfortably the worst player. Worrying times! If a bid from Saudi comes we need to let him go.
Tavares, Lokonga have sealed and now Nelson and Nketiah are rumoured with loan to buy deals, some obligation and some option. Why can’t Arsenal organise a normal transfer like everyone else where we get some money up front? Or is there a good reason they are doing this that I have missed?
Hi Charles, I saw a comment on Twitter that mirrored my thoughts on Ramsdale. Considering he didn't have much game time last season and during the Euros, does he really need a long extended break? I'm just wondering why Ramsdale isn't hurrying to be back with the team where he would be outright preseason goalkeeper and remind everyone of how good he is.
Hey Charles, Esr deal almost done ...sad to see him leave but he needs to play and we are getting a decent fee aswell. Now I think we'll be actively looking to replace him ....who do you think it is ? Mikel Merino is of interest....but I still think we may make a move for Eze or Olmo ....Who would Charles prefer out of those 3 ?
Appreciation post: Top man, Charles! Appreciate your work, it’s a sacrifice most of us appreciate mate. Regards to your family, hope your son is on the mend. Gooner from Trinidad and Tobago 👊
Whatever happens this season, Arsenal are going to win titles after Pep leaves city the next season but this is the year Arteta and the squad have the opportunity to beat Pep's city and show the world how good they're! Love from India 🇮🇳
Hi Charles, I missed the game, but I've seen a lot of reviews since, and a lot of them are saying Eddie had a bad game and that it could affect his purchase price with Marseille. I just want your thoughts around this. Thanks for the great content, I'm an everyday watcher, not an everyday "commentor,"and keep up the good work.
Hi Charles! Best wishes for speedy recovery for Watts Jr! Thank you again for the Arsenal shirt, I love it now that I see it in person! Two questions please: 1) Lots of marginally trustworthy sources bringing back rumours of Gyokeres. Anything you're hearing on that front? 2) Fabrizio Romano says Leicester have opened talks for Reiss, which is great. But it's another loan with obligation to buy. It seems like we, more than anyone else, are the subject of these deals. Tavares, Lokonga (just an option to buy), Smith-Rowe, Eddie... Why is that? Are we in a great financial position this year and thus happy to pass along the player sales profits to next year?
I agree with the idea of not spending money (on Osimhen) for the sake of spending. But, with the new spending rules being set on a % of income, wouldnt it mean that saving money this summer won't really mean we have extra to spend next summer when the 80-120m player the club want is avaliable?
Hello Charles! I got a question. Why is it that most clubs, even the ‘smaller’ ones, are succesfully selling their players but with Arsenal its always a loan + obligation/option?
Mad stat posted by Sky following news on the agreement for Calafiori “With him included, 18 of Arsenal's 24 first-team signings under Arteta have been either goalkeepers, defenders or defensive midfielders, for fees totalling £488m. It is more than twice as much as they have spent on only six attacking midfielders or forwards.” Do you think that’s a positive meaning our forwards have been generally decent for a while or a negative showing Arteta loves signing defenders and not so confident when it comes to attackers? - simplistic take as probably at lot of factors but it is a odd fact!
Hey Charles. Reports in Italy suggested that Arsenal made an inquiry on Juventus winger Chiesa. The player himself ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal. He do have a bit older profile than what Arsenal prioritize and injury prone, but he is a winger who can play both sides(mainly right), can even cover striker and attacking midfielder, he can create something out of nothing. If it's true that Arsenal are targeting players like Trossard or Jorginho who brings experience and depth to squad, Chiesa does look like a good possible signing. He is a Euro winner with Italy and played at top level with Juventus. He has a reasonable price tag and Arsenal do miss things that Chiesa can offer on the wing side. How do you think of this link and Chiesa?
Will Eddie be yet another loan deal ? We just can’t seem to sell our players for a decent fee. Do you think Mikel damages our selling chances when he totally leaves players out of the team with zero minutes ?
Do you think Arteta's lack of rotation will hinder us in signing backup options? Viera and ESR are high-potential players and prospective signings will have seen how their careers stagnated due to lack of minutes. I'm honestly a bit worried.
Waking up to some high wattage!!! If we sell Eddie/ESR/Reiss for a good price, we must MUST get a forward/winger who can add another 12 to 15 goals for the team.
@jidf32 if the expectation is to win the league....we need to upgrade in each position. For me left wing as well as forward and LCM can all be upgraded for the starting 11 spot. Squad dept is also needed with most important players not getting a big summer break. Last season we saw how many injuries there were in the PL, Arsenal might not be so lucky with injuries this time around.
@@TheGunnerRyan There's plenty of game every season. Which player who is good enough to score 12-15 goals would want to come and be a sub or rotation player who whenever they find form and momentum in their 5th match, are dropped in the 6th for "rotation"?
@@shahnaveed9336 That's not how football goes. Hi turnovers are not the secret to success. So we get a left wing and LCM... Who have to leave? ESR, Reiss and Eddie won't be enough because you will have to manage Trossard, Martinelli, Hazard etc. They won't want to be on the bench all season
Hi Charles why do we have to wait for the Nico Williams deal to Barcelona fall through. Why don't we test their resolve and meet the release clause for him and see what happens, we definitely wont sign him if we dont bid
If we signed Nketiah say 3 years ago people would be demanding that his sold. His 25 look at his record in the PL it’s woeful. But as we know when a player comes from the academy all common sense goes out the window. Eddie has never been and will never be of the level required by Arsenal even as a squad player. What’s the alternative to Haaland = Alvarez, what’s the Alternative for Isak = Wilson. Eddie isn’t even the alternative to GJ. Havertz is now the main ST. Havertz that’s younger than Nketiah btw.
Good morning everyone…. Anybody else find it strange there appears to be zero PL interest in Eddie and Ramsdale ? I thought this was the summer we would get some decent money in but it does not likely to happen.. especially as we are now hearing that ESR can stay if it suits him
Hi Charles 👋, I hope all is good and you're son gets better soon God willing 🙏. I expect Mikal Arteta to choose a strong 💪 squad against Bournemouth. COYG to thrash Bournemouth God willing 🙏. Have a good day Charles 😂. Arsenal rocks 🏆 🙏 🤲 🪨 🎸 😎.
Hi Charles! Really enjoy your content. But I just wanted to point out that Karl Hein’s surname isn’t pronounced the way you say it. It rhymes with rain 😊
Hi Charles, enjoying your videos but am curious to know why you do way before time pre recorded videos and then have to leave disclaimers or is that normal?
Why Mikel and the staff don't consider Kiwi and Zini playing in the midfield role? zini played at 8 and could to good job and Jakob has played at 6 before. would be wierd to let one of them go especially we looking for centre midfielders think that them and Merino would be good addition to Rice, Vieira, Jorgi and they could be backup to the backline as well
Kiwior has shown he's not good enough on the ball to play as a 6 or as an inverted RB for us. Likely athleticism for Zini as a 6/8. Seems he's best inverting as the spare man. I see it as below. Need an 8 (maybe Merino) and then we look covered, unless Partey leaves. Partey Jorgi Rice New (Merino?) ESR (to sell) Ode Viera Nwaneri
@@tomjenkins5602 i think you right that zini is not that athlete but nor was granit xhaka which he fulfilled it well, maybe I wrong but would love to see them both staying unless some crazy offers come Btw I don't think that Ethan gonna get a lot of chances this season although all the talking so I don't consider him as a first team player yet
@@elirangorgov I don’t think saying Xhaka is not an athlete is correct. He was a machine, albeit not the quickest. Far stronger and durable than Zini. Agreed on Nwaneri. I have him as 3rd Right 8. Can also play RW. I would guess around 3 starts and 5-10 sub appearances across the league and cups but who knows.
You are probably going to get lots and lots of ESR questions but incase you see this Charles - what do you think of the apparent £35m fee? Some Arsenal fans have been saying good deal and others too low (as always😂). But interestingly most non Arsenal fans I've seen have been saying is a good deal for Arsenal. Comments about his lack of games and goals in last 2 years and saying Arsenal did well to get £35m. What do you think of that?
I'm sorry but if we sell reiss, Eddie, and ESR they've got to be permanent deals there's no way we loan them out when they're parts of our current squad
I know it's only preseason but most of our youngsters against Bournemouth looked bang average. I'm not really impressed at all. Timber had a good game.
The real reason Chido Obi has chose to left Arsenal is because he must have heard his favourite Arsenal youtuber (you) mispronounce his name so many times. 😂 😂😂😅 Great content as always!
Chido Martin gone also cozier duberry Mika bierieth not getting a chance neither patino we losing our best youngsters for nothing arsenal need to change this mentality
He’s not a wimp. he’s a dad. I’m an Aussie, got up my whole life to watch football. but it takes a toll when you have young kidsA. A half arsed game in the US is nothing to throw your family duties out the window for. Charles is a good man, a good dad, a good journalist, he’s balancing all the parts of his life and paying his bills. Fair play to him and best wishes.
