A complete 3D character art deep-dive breakdown AND re-creation of SPIDER-MAN: Into the Spider-Verse. I would like to think this secures me as one of the biggest Spider-Verse fans in the world. The project took the better part of a year to complete. No joke, this was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Imagine researching, gathering reference, writing an essay, screen capping, video editing, 3D modeling, learning how, texturing, rigging, shading, rendering, polishing, and publishing all at the same time. Probably the craziest thing I did was bought an external DVD player for my computer just to get 15 seconds of brad bird from the Incredibles Special features DVD in better quality than is available online. It’s been a passion project and I would say is the 3D modern day equivalent of master copying a painting. I learned so much about Spider-Verse through my own observation of the smallest details and through reading almost every single article or watching every video and going to the entire credited art crews personal portfolio pages to glean details. I did this for a RU-vid series but in the end I really did it for me. The movie had such an impact on me and I knew I had to do something to get it out of my system. Reconcile it somehow. At a time when I felt like animation was so predictable, in comes this nuclear bomb of a feature film where unbeknownst to the rest of us hundreds of people were working for years to counter the exact mundanity I was so tired of seeing. I'm 15! THIS VIDEO IS ONE OF THE MOST INFORMATIVE VIDEOS ON THE TOPIC OUT THERE!!! I've been looking at a lot of the director's and production house's material because I'm looking to recreate my own spider persona! You did a great job on providing the context for the visual stunningness of Spider-verse!! The first test shot for the film took a year to create for 10 seconds of footage. I'm attempting to recreate the "feel" of spiderverse and I've been having quite a lot of trouble in getting the visual language of shape across. Thank you! Yeah I was on another level of inspiration when this movie first came out. I don’t know if I could recapture that again. This video took me a year to make! But you never know! The new film is very high level and I suspect a lot of the new effects are done with a combination of true 3D and compositing work, which would be outside my wheelhouse to do alone. i've got to say, this is honestly one of my favorite series. i know very little about 3d modeling and animation, but everything you're doing is spectacular. it's really fun to watch and pretty inspirational for me; someone who just decided to start learning basic 3d animation very recently. into the spider-verse was, and probably still is, one of my favorite movies of all time, and it's really cool to see it, or a very near approximation of it, at least, come to life.

Amazing job, this is very inspiring to watch, and the result turned out so great. Its very clear the large amount of work you put into this, and the video as well, is so well done and well structured. You can really do it all :)

This was an amazing video! I'm applying these principles to realtime for a comic-style video game and it's looking pretty good so far and I'm really excited for Part 4, brodie. As you said, we shall keep persisting.
