I received that sharpener in an art subscription box three years ago and I'm still loving it😊 The roman szmal palette you put together turned out so beautiful! I really want to tru aquarius grey espacially that it is the first grey color I've seen with a single pigment.

Yes, KUM are really the best. And I’ve tried the Aquarius gray now and it’s sooo nice. Very pretty and delicate and looks good with other colors

Glad to help! I also like that Kum sells replacement blades very cheaply so you can replace them and keep the sharpener forever

I love watching anything Roman Szmal so found your video. fun art haul! I was listening to the confusion you had about the colors that came in your palette; there are two 12 half pan sets on jackson's (I have both). The one you bought is the "Travel Set" with Mineral Violet and there is the "Urban Sketchers set" that comes with Buff Titanium. ;). I am able to get 7 pans in three rows in that palette so maybe try again before removing the metal insert:). This is my list of 21 in the Travel palette. I like that you added a cool red to yours! Yes, I figured that out after I did the video! I didn’t even realize it lol But it’s fine since I ended up getting the buff titanium later so it’s a nice full palette now. Thank you for your comments! 🥰

I put my Holbein gouache in a stay-wet palette I got from Amazon and it stays perfect for painting without re-pouring or major paint loss/clean-up. I use a porcelain dish for mixing so makes for easier clean up as the gouache stays in my palette. :)

I watched a bunch of videos on storing gouache and was very tempted to get one but was scared by the possible mold issue. So I’ve decided to just use them wet but have a palette where each one has its own section so I can save whatever I don’t use. I’ll do a video on it down the road. Hopefully it’ll be a good way to not waste any but also to mostly use them in wet form

Just as a remark on the lightfastness: artist gouache is not lightfast per defenition. The magenta you used on the page for example is very fugitive. You can always go by the lightfastness ratings on the tube (although sadly, they're not always correct)

I thought artists gouache was more lightfast and designers gouache was not? But in either case, I’m just going to use it for my sketchbooks just to be safe. Thanks for watching!
