Welcome to my channel! I make videos about art and journaling. Here, you will find art hauls, tutorials, paint alongs, product reviews, and project shares.
What a wonderful video, so lovely to see your haul, Ela! The Demi palette looks so cute and tiny 🥹 and I loved that you made the other palette yourself using a business card holder - thats so clever! It's also great to see my sticker collar in the wild! I'm hoping mine arrives soon! 😄🤞🏻
Hi! I just wanted to ask what kindle model did you use to fit in the bag? I have the kindle basic 11th gen (2022) which is slightly smaller than the paperwhite and I was hoping it could fit in the bag with a sleeve along with maybe a thin phone.
That was the model I used to have when I made the video - the one before the paperwhite. Currently, I have the paperwhite and I just now went and got the bag and was able to fit the paperwhite inside with a case on, no problem. I then also put my phone inside as well (largest iPhone model with case in), and they both fit inside well and the bag was able to close.
Thanks for this video! I learned a lot. I just ordered one of these art toolkit palletes from Spokane art supply. I had never heard of that company until recently. They have a very nice website. I bought the toolkit, and it comes with M graham paints….and was 44.00. I thought that was very reasonable! I’ve never tried that paint before either, so I’m very excited to get it!
Oh good, I’m glad it was useful! And I’d never heard of that store before, so thank you for mentioning it. Looks like the m graham palette is already sold out! That’s a really great deal too because m graham paint is top of the line. Enjoy it! Not that I need it, but if it was still in stock I probably would have ordered it 😂
There’s something really wonderful about travel art, being able to draw or paint while on the go. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful drawings with us!
Such lovely art and it's always a joy to see artist's travel supplies I very much enjoyed watching. I loved how you ended the video with the picture of the rainbow in all it's majesty. They always remind me of God's promise and love a sign of hope and to look toward the future even in the midst of a storm. 😊 Love the way the rainbow is backlit and the colors it's truly beautiful and makes me want to grab my paints right this second. As always thanks for sharing your beautiful art and perspective!
Thank you, and I’m glad you enjoyed that! And yes, I love that after all that torrential rain, we got such a beautiful double rainbow in our last night. Can’t get a rainbow without some rain 😌
No offence, but people who got free products to review, claiming their opinion is their own and that they are allowed to say whatever they want, is just a lie. Especially with chinese companies. They always send you a list of things you must say about the product in order to review and keep it. If you don't do that, they will probs stop sending you free stuff. Thats how it works in every industry. Be it art, gaming, tech, etc. So I highly doubt you or any other reviewer out there, are giving us your honest opinions about the products you receive. Especially smaller channels who profit the most from free stuff, since they often can't afford buying all the supplies they are reviewing.
No offense, but you got all your “facts” wrong. They absolutely did not give me a list of things to say. They simply asked if I wanted to pick some things out and if I’d be willing to do a video or an IG post in return. That’s was it. And they don’t send me tons of free stuff. They sent me probably less than $50 worth of free stuff twice. That doesn’t do much for me. I only did this because it seemed fun to get some things that I was curious to try and I make videos anyway. They only sent me a few items with no plans to “keep” sending me stuff. I don’t need or want them to do that. I had zero incentive to say positive things about them because I wasn’t getting anything in return for doing so. I’m not a small channel that “reviews” stuff. I’m not at all a review channel. I make videos for fun. Be it sharing my art or sometimes sharing art supplies I either buy or get. So I don’t need them or any art company to send me anything. I can easily afford to buy whatever art supplies I want actually so I have no need to lie in order to get a few bucks worth of free stuff. Also you saw all my reactions as I was opening the package and swatching. So how could I be lying? My video on their acrylics wasn’t quite as favorable. And I asked for acrylics and gauche because I was sure I’d somewhat like them so I could do a video where I was happy with what I got. I didn’t ask for their watercolors. So no offense but you don’t really know what you’re talking about.
Just bought the watercolor sticks to use them the same way 😊. For diluting acrylics, however I read somewhere not to use the airbrush medium, but the fluid medium. But I also had already bought it. 🤷♀️
Ugh it’s too late for me too, since I already bought it 😅 I’ll have to figure out a good use for it anyway. And yes, looking forward to playing around with the watercolor stick! Will probably end up buying more down the road.
I've found that many people buy the DS sticks to cut and put in pans. They act exactly the same as pan paints and are cheaper. I "stick" 😂 with the Neocolor 2s for mark making. But the DS are versatile! Expensive as crayons- but used multi ways- are great!
@@texan76 thank you! I just opened it a few days ago and ordered a handful to try them out and see about the quality, so I’ll definitely update soon with how they are. If they’re good quality, I’m happy to take requests! I can upload a sketchbook page or a painting and make a sticker
Thank you so much! That really means a lot since I e been thinking lately and realizing that’s the vibe I want to communicate in my work, and it’s very encouraging to hear that I’m already at least partially doing that
Very useful video and thorough review… I have the Neocolors but use them so little as I mostly use watercolors…. Seeing your beautiful paintings inspired me to pick them up and start esperimenting more with them! 😊 thank you!
Thank you so much! I’m glad the video was informative and inspiring! And I think they go well with watercolors, even if you just use them as little accents
@@ElaTell I hope the fixative works well for you. I cant use them cause of health issues. That's why I'm always on the look out for ways to fix the oil pastels. 😉
@@veystone2580 yes, that’s unfortunately the main downside of them and why I won’t be using them for works I sell, it’s just too much hassle. I’ll use them in my sketchbooks. And yeah, I’ll definitely use the fixative outdoors only. I can imagine it’ll be very… potent lol
I am terrible with anything g I feel like I “should” do. So I don’t ever think of it as “practice” because that would immediately make me not feel like it. That’s why I mentioned in the video that I’m not big on drawing from reference because it feels like I’m actually practicing lol So I just draw what I feel like drawing or feels fun in that moment. Sometimes it’s these girl doddles or paintings, sometimes it’s loose watercolor florals where it’s quick and easy (I have tutorials for 2 different techniques for those as well). And I mostly paint when I’m watching TV in the evenings so I’m just sitting there anyway. And like I said, I’m used to doodling while doing other things, like sitting in class, so it feels pretty natural to do art while watching TV. Not sure if this helps? Just think of it as you’re only doing it for fun or relaxation or whatever, change how you look at drawing and the purpose it plays, and that might increase your motivation.
I love playing with watercolor but I have had not drawn in years, you make it look so easy, we’ll sweetie I will practice my faces to start because it looked easy the way you explained it. Thanks so much for taken the time to do this tutorial.😀
I'm just starting ad an artist. I wouldn't say artist. Lol. So I think my favorite medium is acrylic because I feel watercolor is a constant restraint on color and you, at times, just want the vividness shown with acrylics. I'm stoked about Ponca and the art world. I'm gonna begin to collect because I just can't imagine a marker colorful.
I’m a firm believer that you’re an artist as long as you do one thing - make art! So if you’re making art you’re definitely an artist. And yes, I totally agree about acrylics. They’re so easy to work with and behave themselves, unlike watercolors lol
What a nice video! I also have a lot empty sketchbooks here. But Im too slow to fill them fast ( and there are always new ones on top 😅) I love these color tubes! I have to buy one of these. What is the brand name? In my first quick research I could not find the exact same one… thank you ☺️ .. (edit: found it ☺️)
I am so slow with filling them too! Because I’m always working in multiple ones, and because I do canvas paintings too so then the sketchbooks don’t get used while I’m busy with either canvases or loose papers. And I’m glad you found them! They weren’t cheap unfortunately but I got them as a Christmas gift because they seemed like a fun tool to have.
I can do one but I can explain it here too because it’s super easy. I took an empty marker (you can purchase them) and then just poured golden high flow paint inside. That was literally it. I’m debating adding in some kind of flow agent to make them even more liquid but I haven’t decided yet.
I’m only a couple minutes in and am laughing… I recently bought a few of the same Art Creations sketchbooks from Amazon and exactly the same digital timer (same color and everything)! Edited to add (now that I’ve finished the video): 1- Recently I’ve been scouring royalty-free sites for images to use as inspiration for my sketchbooks. I have the color cubes and somehow didn’t even think about using those. 🤦♀️ Thanks for the suggestion! 2- I did timed sketches for the first time a few days ago (hence the aforementioned timer) and really enjoyed it. I did it for two minutes but concentrated on single objects (a key, traffic light, piece of candy, etc.) rather than scenes. And I didn’t consider choosing the colors beforehand to be cheating, so I don’t consider it cheating for you either! 😂
Omg that is too funny… great minds really do think alike 😉 and yeah, would have definitely been better to pick something smaller than a whole scene but the cards didn’t really have that and I wanted to have something on screen for everyone to be able to see. If I do more of these in a video in the future, I might pick images from a book that’d be larger and simpler as well. Thank you for the suggestions!
