Directed by Zbigniew Rybczyński, 1984. The video won MTV Music Video Awards for Most Experimental Video and Best Editing in 1985. The cast of this video later appeared together once more in the video for the Art of Noise track "Dragnet".
This is probably my favorite video. I've been a huge fan of AON since 83. I try to get people into this video, but it scares most people. Tra la la, Ha ha hah
I remember first hearing this when it came out. I was just a kid. So, when someone turned the radio on, and all I hear are chainsaws, car engines, and breaking glass, I was like, “you can do this?… Cool!” 😃👍
..STILL, one of the dopest, boldest, punkest concepts in music videos...when this came out, it was a bit controversial & very daring, destroying yesteryear's instruments - some were definitely up in arms about this video....a forever favorite of mine.💯💯🤘🏽🤘🏽🤙🏽🖖🏽 *00:41 is my fave scene "
Wow, stunning work! I have never seen this in such high quality before. I remember when MTV used to play this every hour. It is still one of my all-time favorite videos.
Ah!, you've just answered a question I had. I live in England and have worked on our railway for 36 years, and wondered if that location was our side of the pond or yours👍
I have been a fan of AON for 30 years. I follow them on Pandora, and never would I have imagined this video! Pretty cool techno, I give it a thumbs up 👍
I've always wanted to see a "Where are they now ?" interview with her. Only she is dressed in the exact same outfit, same makeup, and hair in her late 40's. "Hey !"
The Director probably said something like, "Ok, just keep your head turned away from the sparks and do not look at them..." Oh, the 80s were such a wonderful time... ;)
The internet says her name is Sylwia Berta. She also appears in the "Dragnet" video. I can't find proper confirmation of her identity however; neither Wikipedia nor IMDB credit her.
